Code001 san, thanks for the explanation. It did seem that Anna was just saying " f_ _k this s_ _t, I ain't doing it anymore!!" , which is unusual when idols have to try something that is difficult and outside of their experience. They usually cry, but somehow the shows try to pull a win out of it, with some kind of baka jokes or a 'worst student' award, but full of laughs and giggles.
And I think of many martial arts, Kyuudou is very rigourous in enforcing beginners have to take it slow.....had a friend who started it, and was sorely dissapointed after several weeks that there was still never a chance to shoot an arrow......but that is typical of the discipline of martial arts. Always start with the basics, such as how to enter the doujou, do the proper greeting, keep the place clean, etc.........
I remember another show where a few girls had to spend a day at an international pre-school somewhere in Tokyo area, and the rule was the girls had to not use Japanese but say everything in English. If they used Japanese, all the little kids would say "No Japanese!!"
The show was going okay, but it was clear from the beginning that Kana Kobayashi was not comfortable at all, and it became apparent that she gave up on using trying to use English because it was not her thing to begin with and getting screamed at by a bunch of little kids was not her cup of tea.
The foreign lady who ran the school starting subtly picking on Kana, treating her a bit like a pre-schooler, and I thought violence was going to erupt in the classroom. Kana did not like the blech meal that they served the kids, so she quit eating it, and teacher told her she had to finish her meal, in a gratingly irritating and condenscending manner.
It seemed like Kana was about to pick up the plate and grind the food in the teacher's face for a minute there, but somehow she maintained control.
Although a little surprise violence would have been fun to watch, the kids might have been a bit shocked, so credit to Kana for keeping it under control (just barely).
I guess once they have a team of girls picked for an episode, it is pretty hard to stop what you are doing, call up the head office and say : "uhh Akimoto sensei, it 's not working out with Anna....Yeah, I know she wore the kyuudou uniform for the Janken tournament, but she seriously is being a Debbie Downer right now. Oh, Debbie Downer, no that's not a porn star, it is just an expression I learned when I was at university in the states, it means like someone is bringing the whole group down....So anyway, could you send over Akimoto Sayaka, she likes trying sports, or some really chibi newbie who is so small she can't hold the arrow, we could play that up for shits and giggles!!"
I hope Anna gets her mojo back in her next filmed event.....
