Densha Otoko was the reason I got hooked to J-Dramas. At first, the intensity of the acting needed some getting used to, but after you get over that, it's all fun. After Densha Otoko I've watched many other dramas that are also recommended, namely Hana Yori Dango, N's Aoi, Kurosagi, Attention Please and My Boss My Hero.

EDIT: How the hell did i forget about Nobuta wo Produce? Bye cycle!

-Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu

-Ichi Rittoru no Namida

-Attention Please

If you haven't seen those yet and decide to, I recommend you watch them in that order. Watching "1 litre" first would probably take the impact away from Sekai no Chuushin.

You should save Attention Please for last for comedy relief from the first 2 otherwise you might get really depressed and take your life!...or not.

Kisarazu Cat's Eye
I'm watching it currently and it's one of the best dramas I've seen in a while. It's funny and crazy but at the same time very serious. Definitely a must-see!!

Summer Snow
My all-time favorite drama. I love the characters and everything that happens around them. It's completely different from KCE but a must-see too.

I havn't really seen alot of dorama's but i randomly watched "Love Complex (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Love_Complex)" and absolutley loved it!

Its really crazy, and got loads of recognisable actors in it (like over half of the main cast). I recommend it to anyone who wants a laugh! :D

I just finished watching "Cupid no Itazura".  It's one of .. um late-night doramas. (which involves sex, partial nudity etc. XD).   But it's very cute, funny and serious at the same time. :)

I definitely recommend watching it. :)

Most of the ones I like have been mentioned like Hana Yori Dango, My Boss, My Hero, and others, but there is one more I'd like to mention:Stand Up!! It was the first dorama I ever saw (just the six subbed episodes on d-addicts) and I enjoyed it very much.

RONDO starring Takenouchi Yutaka and Choi Ji Woo. It's a pretty good Japanese-Korean crime drama with some fantastic cinematography that is still pretty rare for J-dramas.

It came out early last year so yah... it's recent.

For people interested in mystery/thriller/romance, you need

Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi (a.k.a. One Million Stars Falling from the Sky)

Cast

Akashiya Sanma as Dojima Kanzo
Kimura Takuya as Katase Ryo
Fukatsu Eri as Dojima Yuko
Igawa Haruka as Nishihara Miwa
Shibasaki Kou as Mizashita Yuki

It's really good... ;)

On a whim, I went ahead and watched the first episode on a live stream channel.  At first, it was pretty boring (I skipped a few unimportant "I'm-so-lame" scenes) and then it got exciting and funny when the BBS came up!

I'm excited to see the rest now.. :P

^ Haha, "Teppan Shoujo Akane" is also good for japanese food-fix. It's a manga based drama with cheesy dialogues and a formulaic storyline. I enjoyed it.

Also "14 sai no haha" - I finished it up awhile back. truly touching, and yet controversial.  http://wiki.d-addicts.com/14_Sai_no_Haha (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/14_Sai_no_Haha)
