Hopefully Brother Chuck can use the musics / messages in the actual memorial service.

Post by: 0508 on July 20, 2009, 11:25:15 PM: Hope this is the right thread to post this in, tribute thread and all. After the h&A Seattle event earlier in April, a few of us local NorCal fans got together for a dinner to celebrate. Since we did that, we decided to do it again after the success of MM@AX.

I originally planned for the get together in 2 weeks, but right after Jab passed away, I immediately moved the date up to this past weekend in his honor. Had Fen and T-back make an 8 hour (after getting stuck in lots of traffic and getting pulled over for speeding twice that night XD) drive up to San Jose, Aewen drove down from Sac, Terrie and her 2 friends from San Fran. Arita, Masato and I live within 5-10 minutes of each other. We all went out for yakitori nearby for a Jab Tribute Dinner.

We made a toast to Jab, our JPHiP brother. Here's the picture:

The wristband Fen's holding up is the one Jab gave to Aewen after she lost hers at the airport while seeing off MM.

If I am able to, there might be a slight chance that I'll take another person with me. Gotta gather up some funds in general and see where I stand come mid-August.

I would say, however, that if it's going to be done, choosing when to do it is something that we can't waffle on. Unfortunately most of us just can't up and go at a moment's notice, in part due to financial concerns as well as work and previous commitments. Determining actual dates for it is the all-important first step, and it's one that needs to be decided upon; the sooner, the better.

Werd JFC. I called Chuck, Jab's bro last nite. And they are arranging when the memorial service is today and I'll call him back later tonite. Jab's brother really really appreciates the RIPs posted, Commie's post in the fics moved him, he thought Sexy Beam's sig of us with Magneto was awesome, and has been listening to the radio shows. I'll send him links to shows. I'm a PM zomb, Pika cuz I know they archived the guerilla show Tris and Rei did last Thurs.

Cool limit, Ping and Rei-chan have already have plans to meet the family - tho at different dates (Rei next week, Ping in 2 weeks), just gotta know when the service is. I think Ping can do, is deliver a gift from us in terms of music, video whatever.

Plus in the back of my mind of course is an online page / tribute. not unlike the mini one for marimari I've had at http://jphip.com/recognize.html (http://jphip.com/recognize.html)

What I do need, or peeps to suggest.

What about pictures that Jab drew? I know of a tiny few hidden away in the 4th Sta. archive that I've got here. I could fish them out if anybody can think of a good use for them.

I actually don't know for certain yet. I don't want to go alone, so I thought this week would be ok coz a friend of mine is going to Orlando, but I couldn't find reasonably priced flights, probably due to the lateness. So yeah, still keeping an eye on airfares and awaiting the info about the memorial date.
