Trying to figure out Yabakune's character names, with the scans above. Cos its always fun~
So after 5 hours of researching and translating... (probably incorrectly!)
Taniguchi Megu - ヘッド (Head)Simple enough. She's the boss of Yabakune now. So her character got upgraded from simply Megu to "Head" as the new leader of Yabakune.
Nagao Mariya - ゲッコウ (Gekko)She doesn't know where it came from, but she thinks it sounds cool.
Oh, Mariyagi is wearing Shibuya's jacket. And Tomochin knows.
{Mariyagi impersonating Tomochin}: "Mari-chan is going to wear it? I'm so happy!".
Mariyagi also pointed out in MG2 she was the only KKS in Tomochin's group, while this time she'll be the oldest.
Tano Yuka - アモン (Amon)From her (and Umechan) getting double cast by producer Miyamoto Amon to act as the main character Dorothy in the musical "Wiz".
Yeah, Tano probably has the most acting chops in the group.
Furuhata Nao - スネーク (Snake). MG4 character name was ディーバ (Diva)
[insert your favourite Metal Gear joke here]MG4. Weird that she was such a weak character with a name like Diva. Anyways, found out she probably got Diva because she won the 3rd karaoke singing contest on AKBINGO!
MG5. Nao doesn't know where "Snake" comes from either. She just thought how snakes wrap themselves around things easily. (that sounded surprisingly sexy...)
And that she likes reptiles.
Nao did do AKB49, so maybe they'll give her an interesting role and the name might actually have some significance. Or maybe it just sounds cool too.
Mutou Tomu - カイブン (Kaibun). MG4 character name was ツン (Tsun)
For MG4. I wrote this somewhere else, so I'll just copy/paste.Tomu's "Tsun" name is probably from her 'Tsun' chara. Ya'know. Like 'tsun-tsun'. or the 'tsun' in tsundere.
Like in 141201 Ariyoshi AKB Kyowakoku. When she talked about her wearing high heels at a fan meet. And the fans started requesting her to step on their shoe in the 2-shot.
For MG5. Tomu's new name Kaibun is from the sound of 回文 (for words read the same when reversed). As Mutou Tomu's name is a Palindrome.
Personally I liked Tsun more. She should've kept it~

Kawamoto Saya - ルーキー (Rookie)I'm guessing its due to Kawamoto debuting as a Draft member, and quickly turning into a talented golden rookie in AKB.
Murayama Yuiri - キャンディー (Candy). MG4 character name was ドクリンゴ (Dokuringo = poison apple)
Yuiri's MG4 name Dokuringo came from her nickname "Yuiringo".
Candy, I dunno. But she does say when recording she went through 6 of em (I'm guessing lolipops). With 4 being the same tropical fruit flavor.

Jonishi Kei - デメキン (Demekin)Pop-eyed goldfish. She even has her hair back to look more goldfishy.
Yoshida Akari - レッド (Red)She has a little red in her hair and costume... Oh yeah.
