And hey, I just noticed that Kiiiii never got mentioned here?  Unless I missed it.  Their Al & Bum from a couple months ago was amazingly fun.

Kiiiiii is intense.

Mind uploading the album?

tenkei:
yeah! i was about to post something from oreskaband here. they're just startin and are pretty young, but have a lot energy. their full album is really interesting.

about uplift spice, yeah, i have all their cds. i just have to copy the links, already uploaded their songs for someone. ^^

hmm i call all them skacore because they have the fast powerfull beat from hardcore and the metal trio (sax, tromb, trump). of course if u compare them to western (especially american) bands, they are pretty different. that's why some people (me included) call the japanese skacore scene as the "fourth wave of ska". if u look at the western bands that appeared after operation ivy, all of them are similar and have this "obscure" style. that's the third wave of ska. the first and second waves (jamaican and english, respectively) aren't "obscure", as the japanese scene doesn't.

of course there are exceptions: reel big fish in USA is so "pop" as japanese bands and oi-skall mates in japan is so "obscure" as western bands. just to mention two groups...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
oh someone mentioned retrohonpu already! i would post something from them too! that music "scooter" from them is simply fantastic!

Pop'n player?  I actually got hooked on them after seeing a live on Club Toryumon a couple years ago, wasn't until later that I found them in Bemani games.

well, i usually upload things separated because my internet sucks, a big file takes a whole day to upload. if it doesn't happen an error.

when i talked about shakalabbits i was talking about the whole forum, didn't find a thread of them here, and so i mentioned them in this thread, instead of creating a new thread. ^^

oh i discovered retro honpu from a compilation album... "princess ska" i think...

Anybody heard of Midori (ミドリ)? Or have anything by them they would like to share?
They're a noise-jazz-punk band from Osaka.

Also, thanks a lot for the Kiiiiiii album. Fun stuff.

For some reason that reminded me, anyone have any 電気キャンディ? http://denki-candy.girly.jp/purofile.html

Caught my attention because one of the girls was half of 京阪Girl before they broke up.  Still have an unholy addiction to 京阪Girl, even though they only had a few releases, so it's definitely got me curious to hear more from this group.

Is it OK to post about some obscure idols in this thread, since it seems to be mostly rock music posted here? Or should I make my own "Obscure J-Pop Idols Thread"?

That was my feeling too.  We've mostly been talking about punk and rock groups, but if we didn't like idols we wouldn't be using this site so...
