Is it that bad? I feel like I'm missing something here...was there some incredible amount of substance to her previous concepts/music that this one is lacking? It seems to me like a lot of people are feeling pretty negative towards this comeback, and I'm not entirely sure why...is it the sexualization? I guess I'm just saying...Hyuna's not exactly gonna come out singing ballads or rapping intense bars. It's pretty much the manufactured pop and the selling of sex at its finest, as usual. I suppose maybe you'd want something different, but I'm not really seeing how this particular one is so much worse that it's being received so negatively

Point well taken. But in the world of artistic expression there is no substitute for subtlety. When things are handed to the consumer on a silver platter it's almost.. offensive? Not sure if that's the right word but it just makes me think of how horrible Nickelback is and how most people who openly dislike them complain that it's just generic arena rock that is about as deep as a rain puddle. Shallow lyrics and the same old four chords without any tangible depth literally seem to offend the listener because art is meant to be challenging in some respects. You aren't going to find paintings that explicitly state the emotion expressed within the confines of the medium and bands that have some complexity in their music/composition/lyrical content are generally more well received I think. Yea.. we ARE talking about Pop music here but I think there is still something to be said about subtlety here. It's just so abundantly clear that Hyuna is a one trick pony and people get fed up with that, not because of her one trick (which I happen to love), but because people are fickle and once they feel they've got a good handle on that thing it can be compartmentalized, picked apart, and then the challenge is gone. She's been thrown into the "slut" box, unfairly, and there isn't anything you or I can do to fix that aside from being willing to not pass judgment at a personal level. I don't know if the greater majority of Hyuna haters hate on her for this reason, or any reason for that matter.. but those are my 2 cents.

Yeah, it's most likely what I had initially suspected, then. As far as I know, none of Hyuna's work has been particularly big on subtlety, so this must be more a case of "enough already" than anything else. Though, that again would bring me to the point that I don't think there's anything exceedingly awful or offensive about this one that wasn't also present in most of her previous stuff, so it really just is what it is.

But I suppose I do get it, since I'm sure I can liken it to something like, say, getting punched in the face when you expected a hug--the third time would piss you off significantly more than the first

. Perhaps the fourth time you should just brace yourself for a punch in the face?

I think they should have went with track 3 of the album for a title track. It's a nice upbeat song and sounds like they could have went with a cute/innocent style of MV, something that would appeal more to the general public.
As for Ice cream...there's parts where it sounds okay, and then you got annoying hyuna

Surprisingly she's got a ballad track on the album, and it's actually okay. It's listenable to me, but with a better singer I think it would have been a great song. Such a waste of a song....jk jk love you Hyuna
