I think Jun chan does do that commute, similar to what Kasumi Yamaya did at Jun chan's age.

Jun mentions on this Twitter post that she had time at the station
to buy this snack (something you would say about a long distance train ride)

off from school, so she got a little practice time in at the karaoke box.
She mentions that later at home her brother will

Apparently, the art work and story lines of Manga artist Hiroshi Masamura are pretty "out there",
and may not, as of yet, been translated into English or French.
