@ Imperx - while waiting for new Den-O eps, why don't you give GARO a try. It's not Kamen Rider, but it's one of the best Toku shows ever made IMHO.

^Actually I downloaded the first episode of GARO right before I read your post. I was looking at the TV-Nihon Bittorrent page earlier today to see what else they had avaliable and I was typing the series names into wikipedia where there was a link to the TV Tokyo GARO website and the intro on the site looks bad ass. I can't wait to see it now since you have such a high opinion of it.

^ Just be sure to watch GARO in a dark room. It makes for GREAT atmosphere.

Man, just watched the latest eps.

Den-O 18 [bgcolor=#ffffff]was awesome for the fact that the Momo, Ura, and Kinta were all willing to sacrifice themselves so that they would "no longer be a burden" to Ryoutarou. They must genuinely like and even care about his well being if they're willing to do that. Of course, Ryuutaros has to point out that it was really just because he was exercising and eating a lot!

Momo getting all emo about it was awesome and hilarious too!

Momo definitely had a good point when it came to Airi-san and her "amnesia" concerning her fiance. Repressing her memories of him isn't healthy, and if she doesn't give herself a chance to "feel", it can potentially blow up in her face. And I loved the emo version of his "Ore sanjou" pose.

I've noticed that most scenes on GARO take place at night in dimly lit places.

WTF is what I have to say about why Ryoutarou was so tired, but it is something he would do.

(Seems like they have monkey icons for everything)

There are 2 significant changes in Den-O compared to recent kamen rider series that I have noted so far.

1. Ryoutarou's use seems to just be the channel for the 4 imagin. I really didn't like this idea, as it isn't him fighting off evil. Instead, it's kinda like getting the stunt man out and doing it all (ok, that is what really happens... but...). I'd rather the hero fight. Hope that makes sense.

2. Monsters had human forms on the previous 3-4 kamen riders. It also created a LOT of drama dialogue (hated it). For this story, the monsters come out and simply go on rampages.
I'd hoped there was a more organized evil power, but at least it isn't 18minutes of non-understandable dimensional-talk, 4 minutes of cleaning laundry, and 10 seconds of fighting, that cuts at the end. So I'm happy for this change.

It's from the final episode of Gaoranger, where they confront the main bad guy without the Power Animals and do their heroic speeches. Only difference here is, a bunch of Filipino toku fans reshot the scenes and even dubbed the dialogue in Tagalog. They did a pretty good job with it.

That is what I love about the Den-O. Ryoutarou isn't the typical confident hero that you see in every other show. I also like that the 4 Imagin's have different personalities and they don't get along most of the time.

Agree on that part. It's funny as hell seeing the 4 dispute (that bear is sleeping again, isn't he...

). Well, that and flower girl beating up Momo all the time.

It's just that a guy getting possessed and tired all day isn't my idea of the typical hero image.
At least he's training recently, so I guess there's a chance he'll take a more active role in future fights. just hoping on my part.
