wow.... a new thread for the girl's team!!!
really I wonder why are the numbers go all around, instead of in sequence like player 1-10 or something...???

I wonder who's the goalie in the team? Is it Reina since she is #1?
ahhh.... nvm! I didn't know kickball = kick version of baseball.
Anyhow the team will kickass!

I just watched the latest DOKYU and mark my words, Takahashi will be the ace. It's also pretty cool to see Yui and Erika in the team.

so is kickbase what i think it is? kickball? which is just baseball, but you kick instead of use a bat?

A google search reveals that kickbase is also called kickball. I didn't even know it existed outside of primary school PE, much less that there were leagues and all. Well, yay for watching cute girls play pseudo-sports, I guess.

The way they played it in the latest Dokyu was kind of weird. It looks like there's no 2nd base. They ran straight from 1st to 3rd. :?

If you look at the little picture of the field in the opening of the recent dokyu there is no 2nd base.

One question though, why is sayumi in there?

Who are they gonna play against? Is there some super-duper celebrity league in kickbase too or are they gonna go against some people who can actually play this dope sport?

In any case, based on the dokyu's, it's gonna be entertaining as hell. Just observe Eri and Sayu handling the ball *squeal* *eek* and Takahashi will kill someone with those mad kicks.

Can hardly wait! :bounce:

Maybe they are playing against teams that have been playing kickball in Japan, or simply look for highschool kids to play with them.

Wohh, I didn't notice that until you mentioned it.  Since they don't run as much, I'm guessing that it'll go a lot faster.

Takahashi is such a strong kicker, it's amazing.  And that knockout between Risa and Makoto was just priceless at the end of the Dokyu  .

Poor coach, Takahashi really has it in for him. Look how viciously she pushes (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/das-boot/aichankido.jpg) him, then falls herself to make it look like an accident. This is the second time she's tried to kill him in two episodes, too.

I said pink because the heart's color at the begining of the rabbits dokyus is pink, and in gatas' dokyus is orange.

Wish Id known the trick of running from 1st to 3rd base. Id probably have scored a lot more!

Kickball (as I was familiar with it) could be pretty cool. Too bad its just considered a little kids game here and no adult would ever play it. :-([/i]

And was that ai who bunted? The soft kick caught everyone off guard and she easily made it to first base.

Otherwise, with their catching improving, a grounder to left field seems safest now.

They still run and throw like girlz. :-)

But got Koharu out in the process.  If she would have kicked a fly ball it would have been better as Koharu would have been able to at least have a chance to advance a base.

The second letter mentions the creation of the H!P kickbase team, lead by Aichan. The listener worries about their performance, as the team contains mostly members that failed to be chosen for the futsal team (and thus are not very sports-oriented :D). Sanma thinks kickbase [a.k.a. kickball] is boring, but Aichan doesn’t think so. (although according to her, the funniest thing in kickbase is getting points :o) They had a practice just yesterday, and Aichan is feeling the pain in her muscles today. Actually, the team they will play against in the Hello Project Sports Festival is a team of elementary-graders (Aichan hopes her team will win :DDD). The only downside is they don’t have much space where they hold their practices (usually the pitching area is much wider, with longer distances between bases)...so Shouji suggests that they should do some other sport (:D). Sanma thinks Up-Front Agency boss Yamazaki really likes trying to promote minor sports to a major level.

Those elementary graders had to qualify by winning a tournament so there's an even chance the Rabbits will lose. Actually, the whole day could become an embarassment for H!P. The H!P Kids are playing futsal against Fantasista. I think they beat Gatas once before so they'll mop the floor with the Kids. And Gatas is going to have a tough time against the pro team. H!P could potentially lose all 3 of these games.

omg.... this is like Gatas at the beginning, losing 9-0 to the opponent.
The girls must feel shame to play like that.

at least gatas lost to professionals! rabbits lost to elementary kids!!

I guess so when Gatas lost  their first game to a pro.
But the elementary kids are veteran too, well at least they play kickball.

As long as it's entertaining, it's all good.

yeah love the team! poor debut though. those kids were merciless..  :(

lets hope they improve a lot in the future. the sad thing is they can't fully blame the fact that they just learned how to play recently. they lost mostly because some of them sucked at simple basic things like kicking or catching a ball. dunno if it's because they're really girlish or dont really like sports.

I think there are a few more rules then you can remember in just a few weeks (DOKYU episodes) of training, besides that: practice makes a lot of difference.
(like when to kick or not and who is better in catching a high ball or returning a low ball)

Did you see they made there 4 points in the last run? Think they'll have the kinks out in a few more games.

MAANNN the kickbase is killing the girls' bodies!! (I think it's the kickbase because the girls with injuries are in the kickbase team)

First, see Risa:

Check out Sayu's knee and especially the legs behind Sayumi (I'd guess it's Makoto or Reina due to pale skin):

And to get back on topic, I bet the Rabbits will lose the next game (in a cute way) by no more than 10 points... Since they now actually have one embarrassing but very educational experience behind them, and knowledge that Yui is an expert with soft, round, bouncy objects (well duh).

Where's that kickbase league of hopeless, cute celebrities I wished for? Worked fine enough with Gatas.

Yeah, to me the matches are only fun when they're facing opponents of similar abilitiy, ie: not much. The matches where they're against decent teams only work when there's an angle on it like the "revenge" angle for Gatas at the festival. I'm betting if Rabbits are still around in a year they'll be facing this team again at the 2007 sports festival, that's probably why they chose a team of elementary kids as their opponents, so that if they become halfway decent they should be able to actually beat them considering that they'll still be little kids a year from now.

wow.... a new thread for the girl's team!!!
really I wonder why are the numbers go all around, instead of in sequence like player 1-10 or something...???

I have read somewhere that Reina chose #1 for her birthday, Miyoshi chose #34 for her last name (mi -> 3; yo -> 4), and Koharu chose #77 for 7th generation.

Other jersey number are unsure. For example, isn't Gaki-san more suitable for #22, instead of Makoto, for that Maki-exclusive nickname "Nini"? (ni -> 2)

Ah! Ai-chan's #9 might have come from 914, this is my guess ^-^

This may or may not help with all of the numbers. It's the explanation for the numbers that were on their outfits from the Wonderful Hearts Tour.

The first thing I saw from them was the Sports Festival, and it was a bit painful to see them go through that. I'm already a staunch Gatas supporter, but I had my doubts about Rabbits... then on the last DOKYU, they totally proved me wrong. :D They put their stuff together and played a good, clean game. It's a shame it was Mako's last.

I hope they'll follow Gatas' footsteps and become an incredible kickbase team over the course of the next couple years.

yeah, but in that DOKYU, they were playing against a team that looked half their age - Mako's 18 already, and the other team looked like they were middle-schoolers.

i was pleased to see the Rabbits get a win too - they took a kicking at the Sports Fest - but it would be nice to see them beat a team somewhat closer to their age group! :-P

^ That is true, but the team they took a beating from in the Sports Festival was very close to that age group as well (the oldest one must've been like 14). I call  that progress, even if it implies winning against a younger team. :p

In a similar way, Gatas got their asses handed to them in their debut game precisely because there weren't any other teams in their age and category: iirc, the Sphere League did not exist until some time later.
Title: The KickBase Thread * Metro Rabbits H!P *
Post by: idiotboy on July 11, 2006, 04:30:31 PM
true true. and i was looking at that Rabbits game and wondering whether it was a scratch game designed to let them win one (which would be not good) or if they were starting in a league. and if it was a league, i would expect them to start at the bottom - so they'd be playing strange age groups and much weaker teams.

and yes - i remember those early Gatas games. :bleed eyes:

i do hope the Rabbits keep at it - altho my early hope that some of them might feed into the gatas team has been well and truly abandoned.
