Wow, Aya's singing really high in this song. Like, REALLY high... Her voice is as nice as ever though! Better than her last 2 singles, but I think they should've released dearest. as a single. Maybe as a dearest./Egao double A-side.

Actually, ballads are sometimes great sellers for somebody, but not for Aya :( I Looove her ballads! And this is not an exception~ Thanks for the info~

Did anyone manage to grab the video clip? (in it's original wmv, it's on youtube but the quality is bad)
I grabbed it last night but they must have replaced it because the clip I got was less than 2 minutes and had voiceovers, and now the page has gone.
EDIT: Ah the page moved to http://www.news24.jp/87382.html Maybe I just can't find the link on that page?? The One I'm clicking only gives me a version lasting 1:41 with a voiceover.

Wow, thanks for the uploads all! Sure it's a ballad, but damn this song is beautiful, I hope she does good with it! Great seeing how she performs in the studio the way she does, I know a lot of US artists have to be in the booth in their own zone with noone around but the producer and engineer, but she just goes in greets everyone and knocks the song out, great professionalism 4realz!

Well, stay tuned with Gocchin's new album, it will probably have something we can dance to, if you want to dance like people do in discoteques since I think Some boys was pretty danceable.
As for ayaya, she said she wanted to stop being an idol and start being a real artist isn't it? Well if that's the case she's trying to show her voice talent in ballads.

You CAN be a real artist & not just sing prissy pop songs. Ayu & Utada put out upbeat songs now & then to change it up & they still get respect as artists not idols. Aya has one of the best voices in HP & it's very unique but I hate hear ballads all the time. She sould try to write her own songs if HP/UFA would allow that. the reason why I got into Jpop is to hear something different from american music. I would LOVE to hear Aya(or an hp singer) put out something upbeat & at the same time moving. they really need to try something new.

the song is a bit dragging. They could easily left out the last chorus part where she starts lalalalalalalala
But the PV incontrary is very nice.

I'm not fan of slow songs or ballads, but I really like this song.
In songs like this one, Aya can use full scale of her voice and show people that she is really good singer.

I love the PV ~ it's very beautiful and fits the song. I think the song is nice, but I'll probably get bored with it quickly... But her voice sounds great and anything new from Ayaya at this point is a good thing.

I just watched her perform it on Sakigake! Ongaku Banzuke Natsu Fest 2007. Her performance was wonderful. It was great seeing the crowds reaction to her and her reaction to them.

I watched the perf on this Summer Fest. SP thing, and I must say I've fallen in love with her all over again. She could sing the most boring song ever and I'd sit there listening, like an idiot.

Honestly, this is one of the best singles to come out of H!P.
Not just for this year, EVER! :heart: Both the a-side and b-side are amazingly beautiful, and Aya's vocal skills really shine with 'Egao'. I can't wait to get my copy already.

Man you guys are depressing. As much as we would like to hope, with all the new releases that came AFTER Egao was released, it's unrealistic that it would stay within the top 10, let alone be number one. Japan's music market is evidently more fickle than the Western market, so there's bound to be more fluctuations in the rankings. And besides, the charts rank a total of what, 50 singles/songs at a time? More? Take a look at the BIG picture, and you'll see that while the song may not be rolling over everything left and right, it's not doing that badly and by NO means is it a sign that she's losing popularity.

You know I haven't watched a lot of ayaya things and part of the reason is like all my H!P start ups I'm worried about falling in love with someone who will disappear randomly one day, but well ayaya first got me paying attention when I heard eri sing 100kai no kisu... and so I decided to try listen to this being a new thing (of course I like GAM but that different)
Anyways... this song...Egao that is... regardless of where it is on the charts...just makes me feel lighter... I dunno you guys may be depressed but just listening to the song just makes me feel better... I don't even remember what the entire song means..but the pv too the setting and the style... and her smile and the music... its just... I can't be depressed by this.
