AKB48’s Mitsumune Kaoru to be absent from handshake event

It’s been reported that AKB48 member Mitsumune Kaoru will be absent from the group’s handshake events on October 13 and the 14th.

According to AKB48’s blog, the reason for her absence is due to poor health. The management stated, “We will consider the future course of action and inform you later.”

Due to her poor health, Mitsumune was also absent from AKB48’s Tokyo Dome concerts in August and the premiere event for ‘Gekijouban Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou‘ on the 8th.

Doesn't sound good especially since Kaoru has missed a lot of events due to poor health lately

光宗よりファンの皆様へ

８月より、体調不良でお休みを頂いていた光宗ですが

本人より活動辞退の申し入れがございましたので、ファンの皆様に

ご報告させて頂きます。

以下、本人から皆様へのコメントになります。

今回突然ではありますが、AKB48を辞退させていただきます。
13期研究生として去年AKB48に加入し、今年の夏の組閣にて新チームKのメンバーの一員として活動してゆく事を予定していた今、何故辞退するのかと驚かれる方もいらっしゃるかと思います。

自分自身以前から体調が優れず、自分の思う万全の状態で皆さんの前に立つ事が難しくなり、このままでは周りの方にご迷惑をかけてしまう事は勿論、自分への負担も大きくなってゆくのを感じ、辞退させていただくことを申し入れました。
スタッフのみなさんからは、「まずはゆっくり体調を治してからでいいから」と励ましていただきましたが、だからこそ、体調を万全にするためにも、今はAKBの活動も辞めることが自分にとってはいいのではないか、と思いました。
今の状態は、メンバーやスタッフのみなさんに心配をかけるばかりで、体調が万全ではない故に、結果としてかけてしまっているご迷惑に対して、自己嫌悪に陥ってしまうこともありました。
この結論を出すに至るまでは、スタッフさんと何度もメールでのやりとりで相談を重ねてきましたが、最終的には自分の意見を尊重していただきました。
今、このご報告をすることで、ファンの方に限らずメンバーの皆さん、支えて下さっている皆さんに悲しい思いや改めて、ご迷惑をかけてしまっているかと思います。申し訳ありません。
ですが、AKBのメンバーでなくなってしまったとしても、今後も別の形で皆さんの前に立つ事が出来る様、まずは体調を万全にしてベストコンディションになれるよう養生しますので、それまで待っていていただけると心から嬉しく思います。

加入してからの10ヵ月間、決して長くはない期間ですが、学びきれない程沢山の経験をさせていただきました。
沢山の人を常に間近に感じ過ごしてゆけた事を誇りに思います。
私を仲間に入れて下さって、本当にありがとうございました。またいつか必ずどこかでお目にかかれますように。

Kaoru has been a great delight to watch, and it is a shame that she is going to stepping away from AKB48. Best wishes for her to become healthy, and much thanks to her for all her efforts during her time with AKB48. Looking forward to supporting her in all her future endeavors.

Goddammit. I was hoping to see a lot more of her, with the promotion and all. Hope she gets better soon. Whatever problems she has sounds pretty serious if she has to leave the group to get better. Goodbye, sweet prince~

This is quite a funny one. She joined the group in that big generation of 16 members and immediately had this massive exposure due to her modelling agencies etc. She had that performance of Heart Gata Virus at Kouhaku with Paruru and Ranran. And everyone knew who she was. But everyone said she was scarily thin. Over time, she started to look less scary thin and a bit healthier. She even performed in the theatre with kenkyuusei a bunch of times. At Tokyo Dome she got promoted. Strangely enough, she was absent for her promotion to to her ill health. And they used a cardboard cut-out in her place. Now she doesn't even get to perform once as a full team member. The super-kenkyuusei is no more. I wouldn't be surprised if she continues her previous modelling career though.

From what I hear her blog and G+ stuff, etc will all be deleted within 12 hours? They're not wasting time 

It always sucks to lose a girl due to poor health. I never noticed her being that thin, but if that's the cause of these troubles then continuing with her model career may not be the smartest thing to do either. I felt she was the most entertaining during the Ariyoshi episodes linked above, so perhaps she can find a spot in the world of variety...

Kaoru made quite the impact when she first came around. Magazine spreads and plenty of exposure. However, I think she would have never been able to reach the top as an AKB48 member because she already "had a life" before AKB48. She's not one of those girls you can follow from the very beginning and see her progress. She came into the group during her modeling career. In fact, I think that's the reason why SDN48 never made it big either.

Anyway, still sad to see her go. Now we never know what she might have accomplished and we're definitely missing out on many more lol moments.

Really sad to see my Iron chef Japan is leaving AKB. I hope she comes back once she gets well  whether it be in AKB or not.

元AKB48光宗薫、主演映画初日舞台あいさつで復帰か



体調不良によりAKB48の活動を辞退した光宗薫が、11月24日に東京・ヒューマントラストシネマ渋谷で開催される主演映画「女子カメラ」の初日舞台あいさつに登壇することがわかった。

今年10月、「以前から体調が優れず、自分の思う万全の状態で皆さんの前に立つ事が難しくなり、このままでは周りの方にご迷惑をかけてしまう」として活動辞退を発表した光宗。今後の活動については「別の形で皆さんの前に立つ事が出来る様、まずは体調を万全にしてベストコンディションになれるよう養生しますので、それまで待っていていただけると心から嬉しく思います」としていた。

同作は写真サークルに所属する女子大生4人組の友情と絆を描くハートフルドラマ。舞台挨拶には光宗のほか、熊谷弥香、高山都、園ゆきよ、向井宗敏監督が登壇予定
