Why didn't they just cut the cable??
Ha, I was thinking the same thing.

I can't wait until the season finale in a couple of days time!  I've been given a spoiler (which I won't repeat here!) about a scene from the very end of the season finale, and if I've not been hoaxed then it'll leave everyone thinking WTF?!?!?!?! at the end of the episode.

I agree... it'll be tough to keep up the interest for 120 episodes.

Just caught the season ender!  They get off the Island, I guess from the end.  But Jack is addicted to drugs and regrets leaving the island.  What the heck?!

That was an excellent ending. Lots of changes, and the plot on the island actually went somewhere... I'm excited about next season. Overall, the third season after the break was awesome. Here's to hoping they won't mess it up again like they did with the 2nd.

Well, I was dumb enough to read the spoilers that leaked last week, so the "game-changer" lost some of its impact :-\  Very cleverly executed though, I have to wonder how they'll continue from here.  The wait until next season will be agonizing.

Yeah, it was weird to have a flash-forward instead of flashback. Not really sure what to make of everything.

It'll be interesting to find out what happened to Ben, and why Locke let Jack go ahead and call the ship. And what happened with Desmond, and why Penny was on the screen there...

I had to watch it twice to take it all in, lol.
I was trying to work out who's funeral it was that Jack went to.  It's gotta be either Ben or Locke, I think.

nah, I don't think either of those two would be willing to leave the island. I think it's Sawyer actually, or someone who we just haven't seen yet.

I'm not sure what to make of the season finale. I thought the first hour was weak but it picked up in the second hour. Charlie's death (I'm assuming he's dead) was sad but somewhat expected with all the "you're going to die" we've been hearing for a while now. I was surprised by the Jack flash forward. I thought it was a flashback. I think everybody else did too. Anyway, it was a completely different Jack than we've seen up to this point. With all that's happened to them on the island, why the hell does Jack want to go back? Other than its magical healing powers I don't see any reason for going back. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Assuming that the newspaper clipping Jack was looking at isn't just a foiler...

It's a man, his name starts with "J" and seems to end with "ntham", and he's from New York.  Could be Jacob, or maybe one of the existing characters has been using an alias.  My money's on it being a new character that will be introduced next season.

I doubt it's Sawyer.  When Jack phones Kate it's obvious that they've agreed never to meet (until now) for a reason.  Presumably that reason is because she's with Sawyer, and Jack loves Kate, and it'd cause problems, so better for them to agree never to meet.  Plus talking about the funeral she says "Why would I go?", so that rules out Sawyer.

It has to be someone they both know from the island, and Jack says it's not family or a friend, so it can only be Ben, or possible Locke, because of the amount of times Locke has sabotaged their plans Jack might not consider him a friend, and Locke is a loner so he hasn't made the same friendships many of the others have.

As for the newspaper J.... ..ntham.
There's a philosopher from a few 100 years ago called Jeremy Bentham.  John Locke's name is also taken from a philosopher.  Possibly Locke using a pseudonym?

Charlie really did have a death wish, didn't he?
Instead of cutting the cable, he swam down, and instead of locking the door from the outside, he locked himself in..

One thing I don't get.. In the future when Jack's at the hospital, he tells the doctor to bring down his father, who'll be more drunk than him, but his father is already dead..  ???

Maybe cutting the line wouldn't have solved anything.  Forcing them to have to go down and turn off the line.

I'm pretty sure the underwater grenade detonation killed him, though. And Charlie possibly.
