Acchan Wins An Academy Award For Her Acting!

No, this isn’t a typo mistake, Acchan has won a Japanese Academy Award for her role in last year’s movie Moshidora. She won the Popularity Award in the Actor/Actress category at the 35th Japanese Academy Award. Unlike the American Oscars where all the categories are voted for by members of the Academy, the Popularity Award was voted for by members of the public through the radio show All Night Nippon. I’ve yet to see the movie Moshidora in which Acchan plays a manager of a high school baseball team. Miichan also has a role in the movie. This was quite an unexpected win for Acchan. There must have been a campaign somewhere online where all her fans decided to join forces together to vote for her.
