Don't worry. There was no changing costumes. It seems though that fans of BiSH were in much bigger numbers. As expected.

So I noticed in my inbox a e-mail from HMV about a new PASSPO release . . .

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS??? 

I'm shocked and excited because a BLU-RAY FINALLY . . . but why another best of album? Tracks is already a best of album and there were 2 Best of albums before that . . .

Apparently a decision by Universal alone, as Passpo will change record label. They want to make money of them as long one last time. Figures that NOW they have the money for Blu-Rays.

This probably explains why couldn't find any mention of this on any of the PASSPO twitters, but yeah . . . they only now have the budget to release a blu-ray when PASSPO is leaving their label.

Although I wonder what will actually end up on said blu-ray . . .

At least we know the breakup wasn't by mutual agreement as they had a deal for 2 more albums.
The Blu-Ray disc is probably the only way Universal could come up with to give these redundant releases some added value.

Although I wonder what will actually end up on said blu-ray . . .

Maybe this clear rock vs pop distinction is the reason for the breakup? Could it be Universal wanted to steer them in a poppier direction?
Anyway by the sales numbers of these albums they get an indication which direction is more viable from a commercial perspective.

Ugh, I didn't even notice that the first time I looked at it. So this is one of those you have to get both versions to truly get the "complete" version of this release. I find that annoying considering the title for this release is "Complete Best Album" because one version isn't actually complete without the other.

So the live stuff is from the same show as the last live DVD so maybe it's the missing tracks, some band-PASSPO songs and other stuff, I'm a sucker so I'll probably gt it.

Yeah that would make sense. Apparently both the pop and power versions also include the music videos from the songs taken from the new year's day concert. So yeah, if you want everything you'll have to get both versions.  Who am I kidding, I'm getting this.

If this is indeed what happened, then I commend Passpo's management for sticking to their guns and continuing to create the music they want to create. I think the world of this band and I'm amazed every day that they're not more popular. If they ever decided to go a little more pop, I'd be a little disappointed but I'd understand. This is business after all. In the mean time we get the pop/heavy music we all love.

If Universal is the least bit considerate they're gonna give us the stuff we didn't get the last time. I don't know how realistic that is but yeah, it would be pretty cool.

Why not? I think you could get by with "nama biiru kudasai", "arigatou", and "kanpai" if you're drinking with the Hacchake-tai.
