Mio was involved in promotion for "Hug & Dream" with Minnie Mouse for Takara Tomy A.R.T.S.
(this event took place on October 16)

Disney Japan asks Mio to help promote again (a DVD? called Disney Princess Best):

Looks like it has been decided that Mio will have her first role in a film!

Director will be Mitsuhiro Mihara.
Title of the film is 乙女のレシピ / Otome no Reshipi (Recipes of Maidens) and will involve
Yamagata Prefecture (where Mio is from) school girls in a cooking contest....or sumpin' like dat.

One of Mihara's well know films is 'Shiwase no Kaoru' (Scent of Happiness), the 2008 film that told the story of a Chinese restaurant owner in Japan and a Japanese woman from a department store who is there to do a business deal with the chef. Instead, his love of cooking leads her on an entirely different path.

So this new film will benefit from Mihara's ability to weave cooking into an interesting plot.

Mio speaks in this clip about moving to Tokyo and how lively the city is, and her new role:

Mio began filming 空飛ぶ金魚と世界のひみつ / Soratobu Kingyo to Sekai no Himitsu (Secrets of the Flying Goldfish and the World) in January in Fukuoka.

Pictured below is Mio with the front cover of the script (from Horipro Website),
and in second photo Mio stands in between fellow actress Hitomi Sato
and Directore Hiroki Hayashi (credit to Nikkan Sports).
Third photo is the script.

The film is being made in cooperation with APCC,
Asian-Pacific Children's Convention,
which was started in Fukuoka 25 years ago as part of the 1989 Asian-Pacific Expo.
Within the group there is a grass-roots film making project.
