Aichan, on the other, was more well-rounded and knowledgeable about the other things. At least as well as any typical japanese kid her age).

but seeing that the translation is from 2 years ago, I hope she has brushed up on her pop culture, for her sake.

on a side note, I've always thought of Nick Cage as being a bit of a douche, but he seems to be a chill dude from that clip, so I take back my negativity about him.

I'm sure there are people in Japan who don't really care for Western stuff maybe see a movie or two and that's pretty much it. Maybe Sayu's one of those. She's said that she likes Titanic so she'd know Leo, but if you read her blog you'll see that she and her sister are really into Idols, even renting CDs and DVDs of them and with Western entertainment being different than Idoldom that could be why she's not really into Western influenced pop culture.

Yeah, he kinda comes across that way sometimes, but what I hear most about him is he's a bit weird.

@ Sayu knowledge:
I'd hate to be like her and not know more about things, but I don't mind her being this way.

At least it shows that she's very very loyal and committed to H!P.
There was that Xmas show where, when talking about boyfriends, Sayu said she doesn't want to get one because Morning Musume is so important to her (and mentioned that they had had some 'bad examples' before

burn Goochie).
Even if it means that she lacks knowledge in other things, I think it's admirable how committed she is to her career. As long as her lack of knowledge/ignorance doesn't turn into crap like racism or prejudice, which I doubt because she's now got to travel with MM and meet different types of fans etc., it's ok for her to not know everything.

I give props to Aichan for being interested in many things, but I can also give props to Sayu for loving MM this much.
