Chapter 16

Sai awoke to the silence of Ryu sleeping in his bed as the hard floor below had supported him for the hours.  He ventured out to the room where Yuito had left the door open with a pillow on top of his head.  Sai had felt his midsection growling for the moment as he walked out to the empty campus and saw the cafeteria was closed.  Sai glanced around as a group of students were at the bus stop.  He followed them into the bus and out into the town.

Sai let his instincts lead him into the town although the glimpse from before school started gave him a map of what he hadn’t seen.  The café for one was well-known but along the street had couple boutiques and a bank.  He walked further to the convenience store and then turning the corner, he paced through the alley to the smell of Osaka.  His nose got him to a man laying down the pancake batter on the hot skillet as the sizzle filled the lungs of the boy.

“Irrashai~” The boisterous man greeted him as the apron covered in brown streaks seemed to be the battle scars of the day.

“May I come in?”  Sai had asked pushing the curtain away as the view of his face made the man gleam under the one strong light above with beads of sweat running from his brow.

His huge hand waved him in like a net casted for a fish.  Sai took a seat as he watched him made the pancake as he filled it up with fermented cabbage and bits of peppers before the paddle the size of the man’s width picked it up and slammed it back to the griddle, seasoning the other side with catlike reflexes.

“Do you want one?”  His low voice boomed into Sai’s heart as his stomach seemed to whimper at the size and he showed the price, his heart dropped as he had to take a double look before handing him four golden coins.

“Thanks.”  Sai said as the knife and fork was forwarded to him with the napkin placed into his shirt.

He cut into the thick, soft pancake and carved out a small triangle as he shoveled it into his mouth as the warmth of home came to him with the kick of the pepper filled his mouth as he chewed before swallowing it.  He yelled out his pleasure a few times as he kept cutting it up and placing in various places of the plate.  Sai kept at the rapid pace despite the taste buds taking the punishment of the blistering item and he got through halfway of his meal when he finally placed his tools down.

“Why so cheap?”  He asked as the man gave him a smile.

“This is actually my final day here… The lease is up and I’m cooking the last of my ingredients before I head back to the homeland.”  He explained.  “Are you from Osaka?”

“Yes!  I never had these for a while because they usually have bacon.”  Sai made the man bit down on his lip.

“I’m glad.  Customers came here often but my wife is sick and she supported me until today so I finally decided to close it up for good.”  The man flipped another one over onto the hot griddle.

“I see.”  Sai smiled as he picked up his tools and continued at the large mass of cooked dough in front of him.  His struggle became evident with the last quarter seemingly staring at him when he asked for a container.  The man rubbed his belly as he bid Sai good luck with school as he return one for his wife.

He could barely waddle his way out of the place when he glanced at his phone.  Sai cursed himself that he had left the school in the middle of the morning as he counted the hours in his head and now with his stomach filled with cooked dough, he couldn’t allow the mass to get through quick enough and sat upon the bench overlooking the pond as a fisherman was on his boat casting the line.  It was rather soothing on a calm day to watch people do their normal routine.  He began to watch the few people walk by when the ringtone broke his concentration.

Be there in an hour.

Sure.  I’ll be waiting for you.

Sai watched the people until he had to meet up with Miyuki at the café.  Nerves were become evident as being outside for most of the day brought a sticky consistency onto his skin.  It was the faux pas of what he usually didn’t want to do but in the situation he walked into the public bathroom to freshen up himself with the water and paper towels as he took a deep breath.  Every step his heart skipped a beat until he reached the front door and then it felt like it locked upon itself.

“Ah~ Sai-kun!  Welcome!”  Mayu greeted him as his eyes were on Miyuki.

The black shirt with long sleeves matched with the checkered skirt that ended right above her knees caught his attention.  The glasses were on top of her head as she sat alone at the table.  His mouth went dry as Mayu pointed him over to the table, taking his seat blindly with his attention on Miyuki.  If he could only say what he wanted to say, it would have been over instantly but he began to lick his lips with the words seemingly to fall out from his tongue.

“You… you look beautiful.”  He smiled.

“Thanks… I thought it would be something nice to wear.”  She explained as he began to curse his excursion around the town.

“It is nice… you can order whatever.”  He blabbered as he couldn’t peel off the beauty of Miyuki’s eyes.

Miyuki’s heart thumped as she saw him through her blurred vision.  The voice was enough to make her heart flutter but she had placed an importance of not using her glasses.  She kept them on top of her head as she squinted at the menu.  Miyuki felt frustrated that the resistance was slowly waning and then letting her glasses fall into place, her cheeks instantly turned into roses as she ordered the finger sandwiches with the apple juice.

Sai followed the order except with a lemon-lime soda as Mayu picked up their menus before shuffling away.  He kept his lips shut as he couldn’t think of anything to say.  Desperately, he wanted to start up something but it wasn’t coming to his mind quickly like someone had blocked his brain from actually thinking.  He couldn’t understand what was happening and excused himself from the table.  He rushed to the bathroom as he threw the stall door open and lowered his pants before taking a seat.

“Son… I need to inform you about something.”  He heard the voice and began to shake it off.  “Take a few seconds to listen to me.  Miyuki maybe in some trouble.”

“What do you mean?”  He grunted as he unleashed his deposit.

“Follow me to the alley.  The rest will watch her from inside the restaurant.”

here ya go

Chapter 17

“I’m a police officer from Osaka and I noticed you were with Milky.”  He introduced himself as he stood stoically being about Sai’s height of 160 centimeters.  The officer in plain clothes took out the cigarette with a flicker of the lighter, it became lit.

“Milky?  Who is Milky?  Her name is Miyuki.”  Sai questioned the man when he blew the smoke into the air.

“The thing is without trying to make a scene.  I need to save her from her father.”  He explained briefly.  “She has a bad relationship with her father and we are here to save her from him.”

“Okay… This is ridiculous by what you are telling me.”  Sai shook his head as he went back into the café.  There were too many things as he returned to the table when Miyuki was glancing around the restaurant before turning back to Sai.

She smiled at him as their food had arrived.  Sai waved to Mayu before she left them to eat.  He began to pick up one of the sandwiches with his eyes scanning the area as there were twenty men in certain areas of the restaurant.  He couldn’t really think who could have been the father and it roamed in his mind.

“Something bothering you?”  Milky asked as she swallowed her sandwich.

“It isn’t anything.  I’m just nervous.”  He grinned as he took another sandwich to scan the other side as there were a few men and couples near the windows.  The officer’s words seemed to fill his head as he down the sandwiches before taking a sip of his drink.  He didn’t want to create attention by moving quickly and he watched Miyuki eat her sandwich.

Sai felt content as Miyuki pranced over to the desert area under the glass as Sai followed her to seek something that maybe they could share as the people didn’t move but their eyes were towards them before he turned back to her as she picked the strawberry milk cake with the quarter piece of strawberry on top of the white topping.

“May I have one?”  She asked as the person grabbed a piece and presented it to her as they returned to the table.

“I guess we can go for a walk after this to burn off the food.”  She giggled as Miyuki cut into the cake.  She showed the piece to Sai as he waved his hand to Miyuki’s frown.  Miyuki forced it his way before showing the piece to him and taking it at the last instance.  Sai smiled as the trap was set for him as she continued to cut into it until she consumed the last piece and pushed the plate toward the middle of the table.

“Shall we go and cruise toward the pond?”  Sai suggested as Miyuki nodded grabbing his hand as they headed out to the twilight.

Sai eyed out the people as they moved like chess pieces keeping away from Miyuki’s sight.  They headed to the edge where the moonlight reflected off the water’s surface.  Sai wrapped around her waist as she pressed her head onto his chest.  His heart banged like a drum as they walked to the bench, taking a seat overlooking the pond.

“That was a nice dinner.”  Miyuki said as she moved her hand away when her eyes caught something across the pond.

“It sure was…  Who is that?”  Sai asked narrowing his eyes toward the figure.

Sai remembered the guy’s words as it came closer and then groups of people came from the two sides as the figure came to the edge of the pond.  Sai stood up as the dark figure was a scruffy male with a jacket over his body.  The glare from his hand made the group took a step back from the figure as it pointed towards Miyuki.

“Remember me?”

“Miyuki, who is this?”  Sai asked as the woman rolled up her hand into a fist.

“I’m not scared.  Everyone is behind me and you were the person who I hated because of mother.”  She yelled as they saw the guy smiled.

“Milky has courage…  The day when you felt the pain of a real man, you whimpered until the police interfered.”  He provoked the feelings as the group was about to charge when Milky had felt his hand block away Miyuki.

“I don’t know what you have against her but she isn’t that anymore.”  Sai announced as the group took their collective step back.

“A slut is always a slut.”  He scoffed as he lunged toward Sai missing him a few centimeters to the right.

Sai watched his movements closely as he dodged the attacks while Miyuki stood frozen.  The group pulled her away as she caught the glimpse before they headed into the shadow.  The man was quick but not accurate with his attacks and Sai lowered his head, tackling him onto the pavement.  The knife flew away as Sai threw down two blows to his midsection.  He didn’t reach out for the weapon when he launched his elbow into the cheek as he rolled him onto his back.  Sai felt the man’s weight locking him down as the man rained down punches onto his face while keeping a guard before leaping over to the knife.

“No one will protect her because she’s useless.”  He smiled as Sai closed his eyes.

“Only an evil man would call his daughter hopeless.”  Sai gritted his teeth when the swipe of the knife threw him to the ground and the sight of red filled his eyes.

Sai was quite enraged by his mistake of charging but it only brought the adrenaline throughout his body when the man attacked him another time but Sai caught his wrist, disarming him with a punch to the jaw.  The knife slid away from them as he laid down the haymakers from above like god as he managed to connect everyone before he couldn’t hear the breaths escaping from his mouth.  Sai rolled onto his back as the members came to see him as the slit on his right arms was bleeding profusely.

“Son, we’ll get you to the hospital.”  He heard one said as the rest watched over him.

Another one announced the man had no pulse as they cheered for a bit before Miyuki fell to her knees.  Sai could see the swelling of tears coming from her eyes as she pressed his forehead against hers.  Miyuki murmured the prayer before the worker came and pushed her away as they wrapped the wound.  Miyuki watched him being escorted to the ambulance as the police officer came and hugged her.

“I’m sorry for your friend being hurt in this situation.”  He said.  “Let’s go to the hospital, my niece.”

Yes, it was but never stated his identity to not tip off Sai.  As for now, she is safe but this chapter will give you more insight on the Miyuki/Milky situation

The father... well that could bring some interest with everyone

Chapter 18

Sai awoke to the pain in his arm as the peach colored discoloration showed where the burning blade had hit him.  He remembered that he saw the guy’s face with bruises before he passed out on the pavement.  Dressed in the blue gown, he lifted the bed with the button as he saw another older gentleman looking at the paper with his glasses toward the edge of his nose.  He turned to see Sai as he flipped the page.

“I heard you got cut yesterday.  Gangs?”  He spoke with the attitude that made Sai slightly ticked off.

“No, I saved my girlfriend from an attacker.”  He explained as the guy took off his glasses kneading his forehead.

“I’m sorry… It was rude to assume…”

“It is no problem… I would think people would see me and assume I was part of the gang but I just have that vibe.”  Sai finished as the man took a deep breath.

“I… would never understand my son and never will.”  He sighed as he returned to the newspaper when Sai saw Yuito walked into the room.

“How ya doing?”

“I’m fine.  A little pain.  But fine.”

Yuito took a seat next to his bed as Sai looked outside the room to just see the workers walking around but noticeably no Miyuki to greet him as he turned back to Yuito.  He saw his roommate put his hands behind his head as he glanced up at the ceiling with his eyes wandering around before lowering it to see Sai staring at him.

“I would wonder too where she is though…”  Yuito pondered as he began to see what the situation would be and then a husky man came in with a cap and showed his badge towards Sai.

“Yamamoto Sai, we are putting you under arrest for suspicion of attempted murder.”  He stated as the metal cuffs locked him to his bed.  The man glared at the officer as Yuito gave him the same glare to him before he turned and walked out of the room.   The older man shook his head before turning back to his newspaper.

Yuito held his mouth open when Sai waved to the man that had entered the room as he tipped his hat to him.  “I’m sorry it had to happen.  Miyuki had been troubled by the situation and headed to her mother’s location.  She gave me permission to say the story about her.  Miyuki is actually regretting not mentioning to you either so if you want to hear about it.  I’ll let you out of the cuffs.”  The officer bowed to him after his explanation although he desperately wanted to see Miyuki.

“Yuito, I think you should leave us be.”  Sai suggested as Yuito nodded his head leaving the room with the officer releasing the cuffs from the bed and then applying it to both of his wrists.

The officer took him to the meeting room for usually where doctors and patients’ family would discuss plans and the room was frigid to Sai as he took his seat across of the man.  The man poured both cups and gave one to Sai as he assisted him with drinking the water before the man took his seat.  Sai leaned in as he introduced himself as Miyuki’s uncle, the person’s brother in the matter.  He said that his brother had been a troubled person since he was young and luckily it wasn’t worst when their parents had passed in an accident.  Then, he repeated the situation with Miyuki and her parents before her mother had escaped the situation and why Miyuki had gone into the business.  Sai’s heart dropped into his stomach as the men around them were probably her customers at one point in another but knew Miyuki and her father wasn’t on good terms.

It dropped further when he explained the forced execution of his niece’s life.  Sai closed his eyes bit down on his lip as he dropped his fists onto the table.  He wasn’t sure why but he did it for her and now the story had taken its turn as her uncle had explained everything.

“So… she lied because her past would have determined my choices?”  Sai posed the questions as the man took a deep breath.

“I don’t know… but the thing is you didn’t know the story and you came to protect her from harm’s way.  The scar is your way out of this but Miyuki didn’t testify in family court about the rape so it may be harder if her father doesn’t survive.”  He explained as Sai nodded.

“He can die in hell.”  Sai muttered as the man held a smirk.

“Surely, I rather have him rot.  He hasn’t been the same since our parents passed but the courts haven’t placed him into a ward because he hasn’t been diagnosed with anything.”  He explained when a smile came to his face.

“What is it?”

“I have an idea!  It may help both of us.  I need to call a friend.”  He took out his phone and dialed the number.

Sai watched his expressions closely as he quietly placed the phone done after quick call.  His smile turned into a stone like expression.  It was the poker face that hearing about the home run wasn’t a sure home run for him.  He looked up at the clock while both were moving their thumbs into circles when a man came to the door with a gray suit and thin frame glasses.  Sai stood when he came in as he froze and instantly dropped his head well below the man’s belt.

“Sai… what happened?”

“Uncle Seiichi… I was trying to save my girlfriend from her father.”  He explained when he grabbed the young male and gave him a hug.

“Tell me everything and I’ll do my best to get out of it.”  He smiled when the officer and Sai took their seats and told their stories.

After an hour, the stories were becoming melded into one as the lawyer had to decide how to approach after all the charges.  He assured them there will be a charge but even for attempted murder, it was an uphill battle unless the person was mentally unstable at the time.  The lawyer knew the battle would be messy at best but as an uncle he was glad that his nephew wasn’t injured seriously.  They walked out of the room when the arresting officer was by the door as Sai was taken away.

“What’s the update?”  The officer asked.

“The condition improved but we are taking the psych evaluation when he awakes fully from his nap.”  The nurse informed him before he followed the police to the car.

No he is under meds but the nurse was trying to say that the psychological evaluation has to be done when he is fully awake.  Other than that they can't prove that he was mentally unstable at the time of the incident.

Sai knows what he did and no sense make it difficult for everyone else although Miyuki's non-appearance really says something.

Chapter 19

Miyuki returned to the dorms as Kei sat in here staring at her before she opened her arms to let her roommate run to her.  Despite everything, she had heard the charges against Sai and ran back to the dorms fearing that seeing her would only bring the anger again and her uncle had confirmed to her that the past was going to come out regardless if she disagreed in keeping it a secret.  Miyuki kept close to Kei’s body as her roommate brushed her hair back as the door opened to the coordinator.

“There is an urgent message for Miyuki.”  Nana announced as she handed the paper over to Kei.

Miyuki wiped her eyes as she open the folded paper.  Her mouth was left ajar as she saw the message and grabbed her phone as there was no text message given to her.  She didn’t want to get her mother involved into everything but the one thing that she feared was her mother confronting the man again.

“How long ago was this?”  Miyuki asked, wiping her eyes again as she placed it onto the table.

“It was yesterday…  The office only forwarded to me just now.”  Nana explained as Miyuki grabbed her jacket from the closet.

“Where are you going?”  Kei asked as she grabbed her roommate’s shoulder.

“I got to head back to the hospital.  It is an emergency.”  She said before walking out of the room before jogging to the elevator.

Kei glanced at the coordinator as they followed her to the elevator before realizing they couldn’t catch her in time and ran down the stairs to the lobby.  Kei began to think about Miyuki for that brief moment and the one time she had visited them in the dorms.  She had the pink scrubs on as she had given Miyuki her birthday present.  Kei had remembered it because it was the necklace that was made of silver and how it sparkled made both of them surprised by the cost.

“Do you mind telling me the message?”  Kei breathed arriving at the lobby as Miyuki was heading toward the door.

“Her mother was being transferred.”  Nana exhaled.

“I see…”  Kei thought as it finally clicked.  “Damn it!  We need to get there quick.”

Miyuki jumped onto the shuttle to take her down to the hospital.  Sundays were more for personal transportation and given her situation, she said her destination before the bus pulled out of the terminal.  She sat there thinking about her mother and if she would see him in his state.  Miyuki thought that she probably didn’t hear of the situation and walking into the live minefield of emotions couldn’t help her with the anxiety of the actions against her father.  She began to wonder what would happen if she did see him.  It wasn’t anything new to her but she kept a good front about the situation when it came to the job and would do the same.

“Hospital!  Next stop!”  The bus driver called as she looked outside to see the flux of nurses going in and out of the hospital.

Miyuki got off the bus stop and saw the woman walking out with a wide smile.  She stood across the street as the woman walked away from the hospital as she tracked her to the crosswalk.  Miyuki crossed as she caught the glimpse of her daughter walking towards her.  She saw the hazel eyes and curled her lips as her mother grabbed her wrist and walked away from the building.

“He should be dead by now.”  She said as her teeth showed to her daughter as Miyuki felt the silence in the statement.

“What did you do?  Please don’t tell me…”  Miyuki fell into her mother’s arms letting out the frustrations when she lifted her head up.

“I… saw the opportunity.  However, it wasn’t done by me.”  She sighed.  “I would have but somehow the nurses were confused on the shift change that I heard a code red when it was him.  The doctors ran in as I watched from the outside.  I knew it was a mistake by the nurse but I didn’t correct her because the doctor said so and I had walked away when I heard the flat line.”

“So… that means…”  Miyuki wiped her sore eyes.  “He may be released?”

“Who?”

“My friend had saved me from him by disarming and injuring him.”  Miyuki explained.

“I see…  That’s how he got into the hospital.”  She thought as Miyuki ran toward the police station before her mother grabbed her again.  “Let the police take care this.”

Miyuki took a seat on the bench with her mother as the brisk breeze blew by them.  Since the incident, Miyuki wasn’t as social to her mother as she would be with others.  She felt pity over the situation as her mother blamed herself for not being there when she went through the trouble of selling her body.  Her mother knew she had a gift to entertain people but she knew about the situation as she had the friend who was a hostess take her in when she was hiding from her husband.  The friend saw how she could talk to men and make her swoon over her but being the naïve child, Miyuki was taken advantage.

The men ranged from their 40’s to the early 60’s as the alcohol came while she would take coke and a bit of whiskey to tickle her senses.  The policy stood strict as the guards had made their way around the tables.  She was never in any harm but the men had asked for her by name.  Milky became the moniker as she was sweet and her voice was soothing like milk.  Milky hadn’t asked for the sex but she had thought it would be a good way to make conversation and the first was a politician.

He was polite and questioned everything about her when they were together.  Milky felt the myriad of emotions as she had her cherry popped.  The heaviness of the moment made it hard to enjoy her freedom as it was quick.  The politician wasn’t suited for her lack of experience as gave out early but the next few were more resistant to her body.  After everything, she had gain notoriety as the best hostess but with the asterisk because the sex was outlawed.

The owners didn’t know she was taking them back until she was caught with her lips around the man’s junk.  She was immediately booted and her friend had reported to her mother.  She didn’t have the talk until a few days later when she finally made the opportunity to open up about how she was treated as school because of her experience.  Then, her mother had given her the lecture about that as she wasn’t as popular but she was still attractive to her father.  Miyuki understood her mother and didn’t allow going through the pain until his drunken-filled rage had opened up the worst moment in her life.

“Miyuki… I want you to know that… it is alright to be true to him.”  She whispered as the girl nodded.

“I know… Thanks mom.”

Her mother went to the hospital where her husband was staying when everything unraveled.

Chapter 20

The news of Miyuki father’s death came to the police station quickly as Sai sat in the cold room with his uncle representing him with the arresting officer staring at both of them.  Sai had kept quiet as the lawyer took all the questions.  It wasn’t great but his lips broke into a curl when the news of her father’s death came to light.  The officer pounded his fists onto the table in disbelief.

“Excuse me for a moment.”  The man said as he exited with his balding spot growing a few centimeters as his uncle gave a nudge on the shoulder.

“He can release you right now and throw out the charges as long as it was hospital error.”  He explained to the pointed ears of Sai.  “No one would exactly kill him so the error is our trump card.”

Sai grabbed the pitcher of water from the table and poured a cup for him and his uncle as they waited.  He imagined the eyes that were boring into him as the suspect and potentially the cause of his injuries but he knew it couldn’t be major if they were updated.  However, the chill in the room brought up his hair on his arms and neck as the metal table only sapped the heat from his body.

Sai placed his head down when the door flew open as the man came in heavy-footed and took his seat staring at the two.  His jaw straightened, ruffling through his sparse hair as a piece of paper was placed in front of them.

“I’m sorry for all of this…  In all my years, something this bizarre has never happened and we, the police, have decided to not pursue this case anymore.”  He stated as his thick hand extended front of the young man.  “I apologize as we have made this worse than what it should be.”

Sai felt the firm, bone-crushing grip of the officer as he gave a faint smile to the officer.  His lawyer signed off on the release as the man patted him on the back.

“As a man, I would have done the same thing.”  He commented giving him a wide smile as the lawyer escorted him out the other room where he had kept the change of clothes for him before they headed to the entranced refreshed from the experience.

“From here, the school may decide on your fate.”  He advised when he saw Miyuki standing on the bottom of the staircase.

The words were repeating in his head as he walked down and stopped halfway before turning back up to him.  “Can you give me a ride to the school?”

His uncle nodded as he walked toward the parking area holding his phone in hand as Miyuki ran up to him.  Sai experienced the warmth of her touch again but it wasn’t as warm as he wanted it to be.  The mixture of everything came into his mind as the car pulled up to fetch the two men.  Sai broke the embrace and followed his uncle into the car when another vehicle had pulled up beside her as he watched her until they finally passed her.

Sai kept his silence on his side of the seat as he rode by the scenery.  He felt saddened yet glad about the whole situation but something to him didn’t make any sense and it only seemed to add more intrigue to the relationship at hand.  The ride wasn’t long enough to make him wonder what they would decide but he saw a robust man at the curve where the bus would arrive.  Sai slid out his uncle’s way as the man extended his hand.

“I’m the representative for the school and we would like to talk to you about what had happened last night.”  He explained as Sai nodded toward him before following the man to the administration building.

The place was an empty, dark place on a Sunday afternoon.  He didn’t expect to be quiet as all the events seemed to be happening at once as he opened the door to the meeting rooms and flipped the light switch.  There was one table in the middle of the room with the shades down making it look darker than usual from the outside but the bright lights filled the space.

“Take a seat.”  He said pointing to the two men.  “Tell me what happened.”

Sai elaborated on the situation as the guy nodded keeping his eyes on the young man before the representative leaned back in his seat at awe of such things but the eyes kept Sai wondering if the decision had been made before he explained the situation.  He sat back in his as the representative came forward and glanced toward the table.

“From the best interest of the school… You don’t pose a threat to others but we need to follow protocol on the incident and you’ll be on suspension from school for the week.”  He recommended to the duo as both nodded to him.  “Your teachers will be notified on everything and they will compile all the assignments missed for you.”

“Thank you.”  Sai breathed when he grabbed his wrist.

“It won’t be anything permanent but just watch your surroundings at all times and if you see trouble please call security and explain the situation to them so it can be resolved quickly.”

Sai nodded before the two left the room.  His uncle returned to the car as Sai walked to the dorm where the lively sounds were all but quiet as he headed up to his room where he saw the three with a cooler talking when he came inside with stress marks from the past two days.  Sai glanced outside as his breathing became normalized for the first time in a while.  He kept quiet as they continued talking when he saw the bottle in front of him offered by Kuu.

“You had it rough, just take the soda.”  Kuu smiled as he popped it open and drank it down as the three continued to talk.

He wished that Miyuki had spoken to him about the past.  Then, he remembered his past wasn’t as beautiful as he would like it especially with certain hardships.  He remembered that she had to be set that way and maybe give that chance to let her be understood rather than be judged.

Here it is

Chapter 21

Monday came and went by as Miyuki wondered where Sai had gone.  She didn’t hear any answers from anyone and seemingly Kei had been occupied with Nana after her class.  Miyuki returned to dorm room as he began to glance at the phone screen as the messages were not being returned.  She had assumed one thing and it lingered like a snake staring at a mouse cornered.

It was over.

She had made his life a living hell for saving her and to repay him for something like that.  Miyuki had run away to not face the truth as her uncle had begged her to do earlier.  She grabbed the first thing she could grab and released her energy against it.  The filling had flew throughout the room when she had could leave her face in her hands.  Everything that she had said in start seemed to only come back with the one she had fallen for.

“Is someone in the room?”  The voice asked as Miyuki opened the door to the female.  “I’m Yuito’s girlfriend, Paru…  Yuito wanted to know if you were okay.”

Miyuki felt the tone in her voice and was ready to pounce at her but instead Miyuki had run the back of her hand over her eyes.  Desperation seemed to make her anxious as she nodded instead.

“I see.  If you don’t mind… can you meet him at the cafeteria now?”  Paru asked her as she nodded and followed Paru out of the door.

There was only one hope and it lied with Yuito.  She knew that there would be no convincing Sai if Yuito didn’t give the approval but maybe the door had shut for good.  The walk was nerves running through her body as every step seemed to make her feel weak inside.  The cool breeze brought out the hair from the back of her neck as they arrived at the empty cafeteria as Yuito had waved to them.  Her heart sank a bit only seeing Yuito but it seemed better to not see him.

“Thanks Paru.”

“Yuito-kun, where’s Sai?”  Miyuki asked as her chest tightened with the cold air freezing up her body.

“He’s been in his room looking over some photos.  He doesn’t feel right but it isn’t something that he could fight.”  Yuito explained with his hands clasped together.  “The thing is… I don’t blame you for not telling him.”

Miyuki’s brows shifted upwards.  When she had thought everybody would be against her, Yuito admitted his support to her.  She felt a bit better but the jury was out on her past with the few people.  Miyuki hadn’t thought about it but it seemed to spiral out of control.  She stared at Yuito for the brief moment as she had thought of Sai and the pain he had gone through to save her.

“Your secret was probably best to keep because he isn’t the type to judge but he would go with the flow but the other issue has been weighing on his mind.”  Yuito elaborated about his roommate after yesterday afternoon’s talk.  “He’s not sure if the relationship shall continue with the silence between the two.”

“What do you mean?!”  She shouted.  “What else does he want to know about that time?”

Yuito stood and placed his hands onto her shoulders as she gently went back into her seat.  “He likes you but he may decide to leave for good.  His parents had word of the situation and were willing to take his credits that he earns this semester and transferring to someplace else.”

Miyuki felt her heart drop into her stomach as she nodded when she had closed her eyes and placed her hand over her chest.  It was her way to stay calm in the situations and remembered that it wasn’t done yet but she wanted to know why Sai had felt that way.  Miyuki wanted to erase what she had done from before to get Sai back to normal.  She opened her eyes as Yuito grabbed her wrist.

“I think you should talk him out of it.”  He smiled as he led her back to the room where he sat there with the lamp on laying on his side with the two standing in front of him.

Sai glanced from his bed to see Miyuki before he could sit up as she sat next to him.  He watched Yuito leave the room, closing the door with the two in the room.  He felt her cold, slender hand grasping him while he gave that time to remember that night at the pond.  His heartbeat rose like crazy before he broke off the embrace.

“You never replied to my texts or my calls.”  She broke the silence as Sai glanced at his phone.

“I’ve been thinking that I should return home to work or transfer to another college as the suspension is a mark against me.  They didn’t mention that the mark could prevent me from graduating so I’m taking a precaution.”  Sai explained out the situation for him as Miyuki lowered her head.

“It isn’t fair that you got punished though…”

“Life isn’t fair.”  Sai chuckled.  “I never really reached my potential and let my music to push my life and if I did better…”

“It still isn’t fair.”  Miyuki leaned toward Sai digging her face into her shoulder.

Sai held her close letting her frustration go into him.  There were many things he had said that would have brought the anger out and decided to hold her up when he told her about his first time.  It was sudden but Miyuki nodded as he mentioned everything about that night and in the end, it was just the one night stand.  He saw her bit her lip when she lunged forward, straddling over his body.

“Didn’t you listen to my story?”  Sai narrowed his eyes.

“Yes!  The only thing is I need to repay you.”  Miyuki smiled at him when she cupped his face.  “You have permission to call me Milky.”

“Milky…  What’s the best thing you are good at?”  Sai smirked at her when she slid her hands under the shirt.

“I give great massages.”  She winked before continuing her action.

Sai watched her massage his chest when she fell onto her elbows.  Her smile grew as his arms gradually wrapped around her body when their forehead touched for the brief moment as their lips followed in moving in circles when the door opened breaking the tension between them.

“You guys seriously needed that.”  Yuito laughed before closing the door.
