^ The problem is that most of the top 10 are pure power players. So Hewitt's counter punching style isn't as effective as it used to be during his 2-year reign as #1. Serve and Volley players are pretty much gone from the top 10 as well.

Federer finally beats Nadal on clay:
http://www.atptennis.com/1/en/news/news6.asp

If Roger were to get a grand slam, or dubbed "Rogerslam", this would be the year.

Sampras won his first senior tour also:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/tennis/05/06/sampras.martin.ap/index.html

I think currently he's 5-0

Nacchi... kawaii XD

I'm trying, but the summaries are early these days, last year where from 11 to 12, not they are finished at 10.

Serena's hurt herself :( A cramp in her calf muscle I think. She handled herself pretty well, but you can tell she was hurting. Thank God the rain is on. I wouldn't like to see any competitor lose due to injury. I'd rather see a fair game played..

^ Uh, oh. :)

Must say she actually looks a lot better (and more relaxed) then a few years back when the pressure of 'having to win' didn't make for good pictures.

World No. 1 Roger Federer continued to rewrite history in Flushing Meadows on Sunday, defeating Novak Djokovic for his fourth consecutive US Open title, an Open Era record. He now holds 12 career Grand Slam singles titles.

yay,Roger won the title of US Open. That's good news. Way to go Roger~

Well, there's a reason why he's breaking all kinds of records - 10 conservative grand slam finals is amazing (as is winning eight of them). I'm a bit skeptical of the hype around Djokovic though, he's been in very good form, but I'll see that Nadal troubled him a lot more than Djokovic did - even though he held set points, it was mainly due to very good serving - and once he struggles with a bit of form, that's the first thing that goes. Whereas Federer struggles aginst Nadal's various spins (even serves).

Nadal played amazing tennis at Wimbleton finals and if he played the same way he did on this surface (and if he wasn't so buggered up), he would have pushed Federer to the limits.

And Serena's post-match whingeing is pretty amazing too  XD

Finally, Fernando Gonzalez beats Federer. Where? Shanghai Tennis Masters Cup. How? 3-6/7-6/7-5.

^Ahahaha! I can't stop sating at my siggy, either... it's...  :inlove:

You can see often at the AKB thread XD

And, about Federer... Mybe it's the beginning if his fall? Don't know. The guy still rocks, even when he pisses me off when he beats Gonzalez.

I was so happy when the match ended. Gonzo kicked Federe's ass in the tiebreak. And there was a couple of instants were they played woa. 8)

^ HAHA  :rofl:I dunno how, it's like some sorta round robin matches? or when they played the Tennis Masters @ Shanghai here. 3 am? XD

...but Federer won again:

Quote
World number one Roger Federer capped another breathtaking season with his fourth Tennis Masters Cup title in five years after making brief work of the sixth-ranked Spaniard David Ferrer in straight sets on Sunday.

Playing before a capacity crowd at the noisy Qizhong Tennis Stadium and under the backdrop of the sound of Swiss cow bells and Spanish trumpet, a staid Federer improved his unbeaten record against Ferrer to 8-0 lifetime.

The Masters Cup stalwart, having already won the finale in 2003, 2004 and 2006, destroyed debutant Ferrer 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 in only one hour and 37 minutes.

I saw the hightlights and it seemed like a soccer match  the crowds were LOUD

Didn't even realize until the first day of play that the Australian Open had begun... But I did tune in to the first day matches, and caught the tail end of Jelena Jankovic's 1st round match.

Just had to comment that 15 breaks of serve in 1 set (that's right, ONE set) is absolutely ridiculous!  :banghead:

You gotta love Grand Slam action (minus the US Open) and not being able to win the deciding set by tie-break.  :D
