Man, ANOTHER 12-hour day of baseball!  ALL four divisional series going the distance. Baseball >>>>> everything else!

Was hoping for another Oakland miracle but Howitzer Verlander was just too much. Dream season for the A's, though.

Not sure how Ichiro misjudged that fly in LF that won the game for the Orioles...

With the Giants putting up a 6-spot against "Giant Killer" Mat Latos, I was hoping the A's could pull one out against Verlander.  I'll say this, Mat Latos couls dominate the Giants in a couple starts during the regular season but when it comes to the big games that matter, he chokes (think Game #162 of the 2010 season).

I'm thinking more of an old school match-up with the Yanks and Giants.  It'd be a great match-up to see who can score more runs on the road (if I remember correctly, the Giants scored more runs on the road than the Yankees).  In any case, the Giants gotta step up and win some home games because they can't afford to give it away to the Cards as they almost did to the Reds.

I'm sure Raul Ibanez will come through tomorrow and the Yankee bullpen will actually hold that effort.  In other news, A-Rod only struck out once tonight.  Also, looks like Derek Jeter aggravates that foot injury he had a few days ago (or so).

he's out for the playoffs

big loss from a leadership perspective, but I think it doesn't affect them overall with the talent so game 2

Yanks down 2-0 but another blown call that really calls for replay

while the Cards/Giants is in a high scoring affair

Once again, the Giants prove that there's no such thing as "home field advantage".  Unfortunately, there's not enough road games to win the series.  Like I always say, "Nothing brings the crowd out like a Vogey start."

Well Giants/Tigers world series

Tough one to choose but I go with the Tigers in 6, but can't go against the Giants at home

I'm going with Giants in 7.  They're 6-0 in elimination games so far.  Tigers can jump to a 3-1 lead but will lose it.

Didn't expect the sweep at the start, but after game 2 I had a good feeling that the Giants were going to shut them out b/c of Vogelsong and Cain

I was really hoping the A's could pull off the miracle run since I like them more than the Giants, but whatever, nice to see SF take it all again! :twothumbs It's gonna be crazy going into work tomorrow...

When I saw Cabrera take that fastball right down the Presidio, I literally went nuts.  I mean, is this what a Triple Crown winner does?  Romo threw him a handful of nasty sliders and then Cabrera freezes since he most likely looked slider away but got a fastball right there.  I knew the Giants were gonna win, but to finish off a series sweep on the road in the 10th inning is just unbelievable.  I'm gonna be wearing my 2010 WS cap on Tuesday to class.

The BBWAA has spoken: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/28-al-mvp-voters-explained-choice-between-cabrera-014852073--mlb.html

I'm a Trout guy so, yeah, meh.

The "debate" ain't over, of course.  And just y'all wait until Jack Morris gets voted into the Hall of Fame.  BOOM! goes the dynamite!

If Mike Trout on the A.L. MVP, then Ryan Braun would probably have won the N.L. MVP.  I think the MVP voting was fair since both winners led their teams to the World Series.  It's the "Most Valuable Player" award, not the "Ultimate Stat Champion" title.
