With the new film out, let's see some Harry Potter geeking up in here 8D (... unless I'm the only HP fan here, in which case... yaaay for me :nervous )
Anyway, a friend of mine over on LiveJournal asked this question lately, and I was really fascinated by the result and accompanying discussion, so I thought I'd ask the same thing here.
Which House do you feel you belong in? I'm not asking what some online quiz told you, but rather which House you feel you'd belong in. If it's a choice between which house you figure you'd fit in to versus the house you wish you could be in, please answer the former. 8D
And to remind everyone what the different houses are all about;
Gryffindor values courage, bravery, loyalty, nerve and chivalry. Its mascot is the lion, and its colours are scarlet and gold.
Hufflepuff values hard work, tolerance, loyalty, and fair play. The house mascot is the badger, and canary yellow and midnight black are its colours.
Ravenclaw values intelligence, creativity, learning, and wit. The house mascot is an eagle and the house colours are blue and bronze.
Slytherin values ambition, cunning, leadership, resourcefulness, and most of all, pure wizard blood. The house mascot of Slytherin is the serpent, and the house colours are green and silver.

I definitly feel as though I belong in Gryffindor, and it's not cuz its the house of the legendary boy wizard.
I've always had the Gryffindor traits and values, even though I haven't always acted on them at certain times.
and compared to the other houses: Ravenclaw: I'm not a creative person, I don't like learning, but I learn to get the grades. And, it also depends on the subject.
Hufflepuff:I'm no hard worker, but I'm not a lazy person. I am loyal and do value fair play.
Slytherin:I'm not cunning, I don't like being a leader, and, I'm not prejudice. :lol:

I've always felt like a Hufflepuff, really, though I didn't realise it until I got sorted as such on an online community (a roleplaying game~ I wrote an "application" and the members decided my house based on my application). I was kind of taken aback at first, and I remember I wanted to quit/submit a new application :lol: but I stuck around, and started feeling some House pride. The point about Hufflepuff isn't that it's the House for "the rest", its core value is that it's inclusive and treats everyone the same :heart: I love that aspect of it, and I find it a lot more welcoming than the other houses. Tolerance and fairness are things I care a lot about. It just makes a lot of sense for me to be a Hufflepuff.
When reading the books, I wanted to be in Slytherin.. I don't know, bad guys appeal to me, what can I say :lol: But the House values do not apply to me at all. I'm the least ambitious and cunning person I know xD;
Also, since I'm a dork, here's the House specific quotes from the various Sorting Hat songs.
You might belong in Gryffindor,

I just started rereading this series. I stopped on the fourth book like years ago, but I've decided to finish it now. :thumbup
Anyway, Ravenclaw hands down.
I've always liked learning, and anybody who knows me would say I'm knowledgeable about things.
I'm always spouting off facts about things such as the first person to climb Mt. Everest, or the average annual rainfall for the state of Illinois, or which English words contain all of the vowels. :nervous :nervous :nervous
Also, from what I gather from the books, they're quiet and keep to themselves mostly, which is pretty much me. :sweatdrop:
So yeah, Ravenclaw. :thumbup

I think I'd suit Hufflepuff because Im pretty nice personality. Always think about it before I do anything

Seems like most people here tend to be Ravenclaws! Has anyone taken the sorting hat quiz on Pottermore? It's actually quite subtle unlike the usual fan-made quizzes which basically ask "are you courageous?"

I always think Ravenclaw is really cool and i personally want to be in this house but...
I think my personality match Hufflepuff much much much more.. :D
I'm not that good in solving complicated problems..
There's might be a case where i can't go into my own room if i go to Ravenclaw.. since you know the passcode to go in is solving problems. :D

Unfortunately, as much as I love learning, I'm also spectacularly dumb. I'd probably live outside the Ravenclaw common room because I can't figure out what the password is. Hopefully I can make friends so they can help me get in and out :lol:
