3 weeks after they release their latest single and they're already planning/working on a new single, not to mention their individual activities.  u gotta admire their work effort.  It's like the girls never stop working. I truly am awed at how much they work.

the single will be release a month after their LA Anime Expo event, so it's likely that they'll be promoting this single as well.  maybe?  Cuz if they do, it'll get more exposure.

Can someone explain the title?  
Isn't "nanchatte" means "just kidding"?
so is it means foolish love, or fake love?  

judging by the title, it could either be a upbeat pop song, something that momusu haven't done for an A-side for a while, or completely opposite, like having their heart broken or something...
I kinda hope it's the former, but it's looking more like the latter...

WOOO so happy! :cow: Fake love sounds like its going to be another sad tune but hopefully it will be something happy and joyful. I do like MM's dark feel but it wouldn't hurt to do something more cheerful. Also it would be awesome to hear more from 8th gen they have been getting more attention. Not sure if this has to do with the new single but Morning Musume will be guests on an NHK show called "Latest Hits Wednesday J-POP" on 7/22 @ NHK Minna Square Fureai Hall

Morning Musume and a few other artists will be performing in an Osaka event for an NHK Osaka variety show called "Osaka Hatsu Shissou Stage WEST WIND" on 8/3. it will air on NHK BS2, 8/30 at 6pm

This is a song variety show where artists perform and comedian entertainers with their jokes.

the rapping actually isn't too bad :lol: It's the most interesting part of the song, but maybe sounds a bit out of place. The rest sounds like it could be from some anime or video game. I kinda like it. Sounds dramatic at some parts, "cool/smooth" some parts, but still a bit catchy/bouncy on some parts. I hope for a bit brighter and less serious PV for it compared to other recent stuff, but that's probably unlikely.

To me, it sounds like Naichau Kamo and Shouganai Yume Oibito's love child with a random rap thrown in.

I think the song is very sassy and cool but with a touch of sadness. I really like the rapping parts even though its kinda cheesy :oops: Also Ai-chan sounds more amazing and Koharu doesn't sound half bad! All in all I really love the song can't wait for pv!

Seriously. Like, one of those shoujo type anime. Haha. I can totally picture an opening theme with this song as a background. Why doesn't another anime use an MM song for their opening? It would totally work. XD

Not quite feeling the song yet though. It'll take a while to warm up to it. As always, awaiting the PV to pass judgment. Haha.

After a couple of listens, I have to say I like this song, the rapping parts are pretty cool, the chorus is catchy, lots of great singing.  Even Koharu and Sayu sound great in it.  I'm expecting a pretty sexy PV too.   :thumbsup for this single for me!  I agree with Estrea too, it'd be perfect as an anime opening.

The chorus is very Evolution, isn't it?
Otherwise, yeah, this is like the most unoriginal song ever. Mostly Shouganai, with aforementioned Evolution, and the bridge is As For One Day( :yep:). Rap is more syncopated than more H!P rap, which is nice.

Just, come on. This is way too soon for as the amount of rehash they have in here.

Swap the brass out, vary the pitch a bit to more "uplifting-ness", and you've also got Arashi's Believe.

@shadowstar: I like this rapping better than their usual, which is more bound to one measure at a time. (Ironically, it is more in the style of Sakurap)

Dang, this song has got me cross-referencing stuff all over the place, a testament to the strength of the composition (the originality of the composition is different issue altogether... :lol:)

The covers are alright, though I think I'd like their outfits better if there were no sleeves. :drool: And I'd ditch the Ayaya hats. :lol:
As for the song, I think it's ok but it sounds like one that can easily be forgotten, which frankly, makes me worry a little. I like the rap though. :D I'll listen to it a little more and hopefully start to like it. And I expect a sexy PV. 8)

listened to the song... i don't like the fact that it reminds me so bad to the previous single but despite that i think is all good... wonder if the PV will include something more that dance and close-ups.

I like the regular cover best since it's nice and leggy. XD

The song itself is... alright. Parts of it remind me a lot of yume shouganai, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It is a bit on the generic side, though. Listenable, though. :)

At first listen, I like it quite a lot.  Unfortunately, Tsunku has let me down AGAIN, with an inundation of Taka/Reina.  Don't get me wrong, I love Takahashi's voice, and Reina's voice is...tolerable at best, but where's Niigaki?  Kamei?  Sayumi seems to get more lines than GakiKame!  I don't like it!

I can't help but think that Takahashi and Reina are being prepped for graduation, what with being lead vocalists on the last few singles.  I'd be shocked if Tsunku graduated Reina, but I think that Takahashi is coming to the end of her MoMusu career, so maybe she's being groomed for a more solo career?  Who knows.

Still, a good single.  I'll listen to it a lot, I hope the PV is boss.

Well Aichan and Reina have been pretty much the leads in vocals for a few years. I actually really like Reina's voice though. They're pretty much the leaders in terms of performance. Gakki or Eri are rarely vocal leads, though they sing fairly well. Sayumi has always been somewhat in the spotlight for a while now so it's not surprising if she were to have more lines.

Also the people with the most lines have never been necessarily the ones to graduate the soonest. Of course as they age, there is the inevitable graduation, and Takahashi and Reina are on the older side of the group. But until it's announced that there will be a graduation, I don't think there is need to really worry. I still don't believe Aichan is ready to be on her own either. I can't see her outside of a group. I see a Reina solo more possible. :lol:

Concerning Takahashi's graduation and how people are predicting it to be happening as soon, maybe they'll let her take a Koharu route and keep her as part of Momusu while releasing some solo stuff here and there. It's possible. They could try that out first.

After reading some of the previous posts I didn't know what to think about this song. But after just listening to it for the first time, I really enjoyed it. The rapping was pretty effective and thankfully not overly done. and the chorus is quite cathcy and not too moody. Yes, it does kind of jump all over the place but I thought the transitions were done well.

btw they've been predicting Aichan's for a couple of years now. I'll believe it when its announced.

On first listen, I thought it was pretty cool. I tend to like things with the rapping, it sounds cool. XD I like how they combined rapping with regular singing throughout the song, it was well done in my opinion. :D Awaiting the PV...

Album covers are boring though :/ Like stated before by Essy, the regular reminds me of Resonant Blue. (Also, I can't help but to grin a little after the pointing out of them looking like their in maid outfits without the aprons, I can so see it :lol:)

Not digging the song. I kinda liked the intro, but that's about it. I think the song fits with the songs on Platinum 9 Disc, which seems to be the current MM style. Sadly for me, I don't like that style at all. Aw well.

Hm, I'm not really happy with the way Momusu have been going the past couple of years and this song seems to push them further into that direction. Still, I know they've surprised me in the past when they brough out the likes of Kanashimi Twilight so I'm not losing faith just yet. The rapping though...it's good to see them doing something different, I just hope they decide never to do it again.

After watching the full pv...I feel they could have done more with it (green grass meadows out of no where would have been so much fun XD)  but I totally love the song and certain parts of the pv were very well done..especially the close ups.  All of Ai chan's moves from start to finish were so captivating.  The angel outfits were a nice bonus too =D  Can't wait for the HQ to come out!

The white dress shots kinda come out of nowhere, and right now they just look like frumpy bags in all of their blurry LQ glory.    :smhid

Bleh, the dance is so ridiculously Shouganai, except it looks like there's even MOAR shoplifting going on than in the last dance!  XD
Oh yeah, and it looks like everyone caught the "Touch my face touchingly with EMOTION" bug from Takahashi.  :lol: The impact works if only one person doing it, people. 

I like a serious song as much as the next person, but not if they're all emo in a row. What, the last angry song was Kanashimi Twilight? And the "I'm badass and confident" serious songs have all been going to the Kids. (Not that I'm complaining. Since I consider H!P as a whole, I'm getting my proper ratio of song types. Go Tsunku!  :thumbsup)  But business-wise, for MM?  :yawn:

Watch the PV, even with LQ and recorded with a camera pointing at the tv,  They still look great.  
But again, I feel so disappointed, the pv is no different from their other single pv.  All it is are dancing, singing, close-up, change of clothes and more close-up.  I really want them to actually DO something other than (all the thing I mentioned).  though there isn't really a chance,  cuz some of the things I thought of are like fun stuff that usually goes great with upbeat, pop songs, not like the ones they been releasing recently.
I have seen several PVs from other japanese artists and I think they're awesome, and I hope MoMusu and H!P have great pvs like them.  with a setting, a story, some drama or every entertaining stories.  

The only good thing about those pvs are that They all look great.

I think MoMusu and H!P would rise again if only the management wouldn't be so cheap with the production, pv making and operation cost.

PV's and stories are over-rated. The PV is pretty good for being black and white. :lol: Typical H!P fair, really.

I do like the shots with the black and white BG. Wish they didn't save editing it in til the 2nd verse. Would have been a nicer contrast if they they added some subtle color to the dance shot and close ups.

I still really like this song, I've caught myself humming it during quiet moments at work.  Yeah, it's not the same as classic MoMusu, but those days are gone.  The group is different now, and their sound has matured; the musical landscape has changed in Japan.  I really enjoy the new Morning Musume, and it took a year of me not listening to them at all to appreciate their new music, and now Platinum 9 Disc is my favorite MoMusu album since 4th Ikkimashoi!  The song's catchy, fun, and has a part you can just randomly blurt out (Nanchatte~!)  The PV is more than decent, too.  The dance is a bit generic (i miss the fun quirky dances that we haven't seen much of since JKM and Manpower) but the girls all look good, Ai-chan looks really sexy humping that piller and all.  I don't give a shit about sales or chart rankings, I like this song and that's all that matters in my books~!

Looooooooooooooooved the P.V... I wasn't to keen on the song yet. It was catchy and melodic and got stuck in your head but I wasn't to into it yet. The PV srsly closed the deal though <3 .... Totally fell in love with aichan here XD when she sings the chorus for the first time the way she's all flirty with the camera... soo cute  :inlove: ... and i'm not an Ai fan so this is me saying alot.

Sayu's long solo line, her rapping and the cute camera angles were gold <3 <3 <3 <3 I just wish they'd use her deeper voice more. Give her a solo line but dont go so freaking high pitched. Still love her though.

Gaki and Eri's lines...I have a major soft spot for the 2nd string lead vocals <3 they dont get as many lines as the leads (Ai, Reina) or as much camera time as the center (koharu ~.~) but when they shine you just can't ignore it... Gaki's line and camera time was just pure  :wub:

wish there was more linlin ;_;

Aika rapping is  :pimp: damn that kid is just too cute  :heart:

My fave new pv of the new ones that have been coming out ^_^ so i'm happy  :grin:

I think I'm officially in love with this song and PV. :inlove: I LOVE LOVE LOVE the white outfits~~ Leader and sub-leader look RADIANT!!! And there really isn't anything that I didn't like about it. Except for some strange dance moves (but even that's normal lol) and the fact that the black and white outfits look like Resonant Blue.

The PV reminds me more of KAT-TUN's Real Face with the shadows and angles.  :D
In that sense, it would've been better if they threw a few gang signs, added a plane, were blindfolded, and kicked the camera every 20 seconds. j/k

But I do think it needs a little punch/suprise at the end.
Like having them turn into bats, cos they're all vampire girls (yes, just show some vampire teeth! god, I'm a genius...). Or have them all breakdown and show they're all robots with circuits coming from their bodies (old-school FTW). Or even having them hugging each other and doing funny faces (yeah, I stole that off Nami Tamaki's Heroine :lol:). Just anything to break the 4:30mins of black and white.


It's a nice song, and much better after a few listens. But too mainstream for me. I'd take a sexy island to a mature song any day of the week.
Ai being main is perfect. Reina's shots are getting non-emotional and boring lately. It's like you don't even feel her presence. Which is really a pain, cos I think her voice has the most character in the group under Ai (easiest to separate from others in songs) and it's a fact she's great live. I just want her to stand out more. :cry:
I'm sure Reina can curl her hair and hug stone pillars too. Give her a chance... :(

NR started out as a song I didn't like all that much - It took a little while to grow on me. The PV and 26hour TV live finally made me like this song. Still lacks Linlin...but it's a pretty good song.

This song is awesome, but as many have already pointed out I think it's alittle to much like SYO.
Now, SYO is not bad. It rocks. 8) But as other people I also think they should have done something more different as this is their 40th single.

But this single is very good =)) Hmm, release next week. Seems alittle late since their tv performances already have been a few days ago and it was long since the PV was released. But it's four versions so sales shouldn't be to shabby  8)

P.S. I would love for them to be #1, beating Ayu in the process, but as long as they have good sales and ranking, I satisified, plus Oricon ranking isn't all that important anyway.

Did some quick checks, beating Ayu would probably mean around 100k in the first week, right? Honestly, I don't see that happening with this single.. BUT! If Ayu song doesn't catch on and sells around 70K, like 'talking 2 myself' did, and MM gets some extra sales due to their anniversary edition.. who knows what could happen.

Just wanna ask a question, maybe rhetorical.   With the Single having 4 version, including the Special 40th Ann. Single, the sales for all the singles version will count together on the Charts right?  usually Reg, LE A and B would all count together in the sales of previous singles.... so I might be asking a dumb question...

btw, Morning Musume and H!P aren't the only one that releases different version of the same singles, are they?

As long as the contents of the singles is the same they are counted together. The special 40th anniversary single has a different c/w I believe. So I think that one could be counted separately, but I don't know the exact rules Oricon enforces.

No, Johnny's Entertainment is particularly notorious for turning out many versions of their singles. Other artists/agencies do the same but to a lesser extent.


News from the sales battle front. The NINKI poll is out:
1. Hamasaki Ayumi 124.60 points
2. Morning Musume 72.30 points
3. DEATH DEVIL 64.00 points

It looks like a big lead for Ayu, but the poll is only a statistical reflection of buyer intention. I don't know if or how it accounts for multiple copy buyers.

A big incentive for buying multiple copies is access to events. There are two "sales commemoration event" locations this time, one in Yokohama and one in Nagoya with each having 3 events. Buying the limited or first press editions gets you a "serial number card", which becomes a lottery ticket when you apply for the lottery at a special website. The draw of the lottery determines who gets a ticket to the event. So buying more singles gives you a bigger chance of getting an event ticket.

Releasing the same week as ayu could be a good thing in the long run though.
If there are people that would watch the music shows looking for ayu's song they'll also see MMs so it could be good to push them into the spotlight even if it doesn't necessarily help with first week sales(as they might buy them in the second week) or maybe not even with this single.

I really, really hope MMs next single is a Happy song, summer is the time for happy songs T__T

Bijo Houdan is generally a talk show, in which a girl from Hello! Project would sit down and talk with a special guest on some topics. I guess this show is rather a serious one, compare to Haromoni or Yorosen! So far the hosts have been all HP girls.

It's so great to see the older members doing Renai Revolution, and backup dancing.  I love Tsuji's bow...and Yossie...and Johnson...ooo I love them all. :shy2:

They all look great, and seeing the Nanchatte dance with all of them makes it much better.  I thought it was kind of "meh" when I first watched it, but live like this, it's a lot more lively than I thought.  Was there an interview on Music Fighter?

Yes there was an interview but it was rather short so I didn't post it. In all MM got very good amount of screen time and exposer. Yuko did most of the talking whenever they appeared and Ai-chan said a few things. 

So far the charting looks like this...

^^ the gap between ayu and MM is becoming smaller and smaller in time. So at the time we are at the 50th single while ayu is still active in releasing music, there is a chance that MM can overpower ayu.  anyway, congrats with weekly #2. I'm quite proud of Momusu (and us fans~) for getting 2nd on the weekly charts. Sure they didn't sell as much as Ayu but look at all the other famous singers/groups they outsold, ie EXILE and Gackt. 8)

Hi, I'm here to plug the Nanchatte Renai World Collage Project.  Not sure if anyone on here has heard of it but the basic idea is, if you have bought or are going to buy a NR single, to take a picture of yourself holding it and send it to me along with the name of your country and then they will all be compiled into some sort of collage and sent to the group to congratulate them on their 40th single and to UFA to encourage more overseas activities from Morning Musume and other H!P groups.  There are a lot of details yet to be worked out but please, if you are interested, visit the project blog! (click my sig)  I want to get as many people from as many different places as I can.  Please join in, offer ideas and input, and spread the word.  Thank you!

Wow, The music fighter perf... that was some decent camera work. if anyone else noticed how they faded from gaki to sayu... a bit crazy... they should do something like that in their own videos, cause the transition was fairly flawless.....!!

Not sure if I mention absolutely everything said - that'll be covered by subs out soon I'm sure - but the main conversation:

The segment is: "What does everyone think of us?" Then they explain it, about how they're going to ask questions to people on the street about what they think of MoMusu members based on their pictures (and/or any previous knowledge). The host then asks what the members think of themselves. He picks Sayu after many raise their hands.

Sayu: I'm definitely the cutest!

Now the switch to the real thing! First question is gonna be asked to "obaa-san", and will be "Which girl would you not want to have as a daughter-in-law?"

First lady chooses Aichan, and explains that she thinks she's too serious and intense/austere. (my note: they probably want a fun and happy daughter in law and she thinks Aichan doesn't look it)

Second lady chooses Aichan as well, thinking she's cute... but wonders if she'd actually do housework!

Next lady picks Aichan cause she looks cheeky. Reina: "But Aichan's not like that at all!"

Next picks Koharu cause she thinks she looks too simple-minded.

Next picks Koharu for the same reason the first chose Aichan - too intense/austere.

Next picks Risa cause she looks too thin.

Next picks Eri cause it doesn't look like she could do housework. Risa: *nod nod* "I can see that..."

Next picks Sayu cause she looks like an airhead.

Next picks Aichan again cause she thinks she just doesn't look like a good daughter-in-law. The lady with her agrees and says "Yeah, she looks kinda gaudy..."

Next one said Aichan's name first but immediately corrects herself saying she said the wrong name... and says Sayu instead! This I wasn't too clear on, but something about being able to talk to her. Maybe not much substance to their conversations?

Next picks Sayu too, cause she looks too sweet... like sickly sweet... like the kinda sweet that'll make all your teeth fall out. (note: she didn't say all that literally, just trying to explain what the word she said meant lol)

And... who will win? Winner is Aichan! The last lady says she just doesn't look like she'd be able to do much well (I'm guessing at least in part in relation to housework again here). Afterward Aichan is in disbelief "It's a lie!!!" She started commenting on what they said about her not doing hosework, and the host asks her, "Well, how well do you do housework?" She replies, "I don't really do much..."

Then she points out Sayu got a lot of responses too, and Risa says, "The response about that she's an airhead... is definitely the most right answer!" The host tells Sayu she's gotta respond to that, and she says something like "Honestly, I've just been hiding what I really think lately..."

They now ask Eri (since she got some votes too) whether she does housework and stuff. She replies, "No, I don't!!"

The host breaks in asking, "Wait a second... Does anyone in MoMusu do housework?!" Jun, Koha and Risa raise their hands avidly saying "hai!" "hai!", and Aika and Lin raise their hands too. The ones who didn't are going "USO!!!"

Onto the next question! "Which MoMusu member seems to have the tackiest personal fashion?"

They go to the members for their own thoughts again, and Risa says, "It's not seems to have the worst... The worst is LinLin!"

She of course denies that, explaining that Chinese fashion and Japanese fashion are just different.

The host asks JunJun if that's true, but she replies, "No, it's just LinLin."

Now to ask the Japanese people on the street! They're going to ask older school girls (high school/college) for this one.

The first girl picks Sayu cause she thought she looked tacky when she saw her on TV before.

Second picks Reina, because her yankii fashion seems to indicate she doesn't really have a good fashion of her own.

Next picks Aika because she looks like she's from a different background than the girl's.

Next picks Sayu because it looks like she's wearing a jersey.

Next picks Risa because she looks like she's from the country, and then talks about how it looks like she gets her clothes from a certain fashion shop specializing in that style (Fashion Center Shimamura (http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6zguc_fashion-center-shimamura-co-two-ver_shortfilms)).

Next picks LinLin beacuse it looks like she's wearing a jersey (like Sayu I guess).

Next one picks "Mitsui Ayaka", which they correct to Aika, saying her face makes it look like she's from the country, and so she thinks her fashion would be like that too.

Next one picks Reina. Since she looks yankii, it's too strong/severe a look.

Next picks Aika again cause she looks like a burikko, wearing so much pink. Aika: "Burikko? Chigau wa..." in a very pouty burikko-ish voice.

Next one picked Reina because when she saw her on TV before she thought she looked super yankii.

Next picks Reina as well cause it just looks like she had bad fashion sense.

Reina and Aika are tied... Who will win??
Reina!! Last girl says that she looks like she likes pink and is a cute girl burikko type.

Afterward, Reina is looking dejected and says, "Ahh it's too much of a shock, I feel like I wanna die... Really I think in MoMusu I have the best sense of anyone!"

Host: "But you beat LinLin by quite a bit in this survey!" to which Reina shoves off and LinLin cheers, pointing to Reina going, "Tacky! Tacky! Tacky!"

Reina: "But it's said that the one with the most yankii fashion in this group is Aika!" *gestures to Aika* "Isn't it, isn't it?!"

Ah, thanks for the info. Search function has been kinda buggy for me, so I just looked around in some random threads and didn't find anything.

haha, I can't wait to see the video of this. SP are hilarious and I'm sure it was blown out of proportion. Like I said, they should have expected something like that to happen when you put a bunch of cute girls on stage with Steel Panther.
