Google Disables Uploads, Comments on YouTube Korea

Google has disabled user uploads and comments on the Korean version of its YouTube video portal in reaction to a new law that requires the real name of a contributor be listed along each contribution they make.

The rules, part of a Cyber Defamation Law, came into effect on April 1 for all sites with over 100,000 unique visitors per day. It requires that users provide their real name and national ID card number.

actually not a bad thing done consider the hackers can easily steal identity if the posters do put their real name + ID # on it.

Will probably make little difference to people outside of Korea, vid swill just get uploaded elsewhere and westerners are going to upload the rips onto Youtube themselves, as usual.

Man, these law makers only exist to give us a hard time, and I am a lawer, so at least I'm not too biased to talk about it.

Most of the times law makers are politicians wanting votes and this is what we get: Some way to screw peoples lives.
