Thank you everyone! It's been so long since I've written something. So I hope this work doesn't come to you all as a disappointment!
Observation Day 1 – I’ve set foot on Earth and the first thing I see is a mob of them rushing at, what would be, 8am in Tokyo’s time. It must be time for these people to work . In my recent studies, humans work in this made up thing called “economy” so they’re able to support each other and survive. But what makes their lives more difficult is society : the means in which everyone lives together. It is difficult because not everyone accepts each other and not everyone is willing. That is what I find interesting. Why is it so hard for them to accept each other? The Gods of Heaven have tried very hard to create these ungrateful creatures, and look here they are; all gone and threw weapons and explosives at one another.
In any case, a society which contains people of the same ethnic background is easiest to study. That is why I’ve chosen Tokyo, Japan, a very modern and high economy with the citizens being mainly of Japanese descent.
I walked down the crowded streets to see the busy adults on their phone and marching their ways to work, the cheerful children skipping along the path to school and the teenagers rushing to class due to their early morning errands.
As I just sat here on the bench, I noticed a girl sitting at the opposite end of the bench. I did not flinch, but she said to me, “ You must have a lot of free time.”
What did she mean by that?
“You’ve been sitting here for about 3 hours now.”
She’s right. But how would she know that? Have she been watching me? Hm. That’s quite ironic; I’ve come to observe the humans, yet here is one observing me.
“Yes, I have all the time in the world.” I replied, still not facing her directly.
She got up from her seat and walked towards me, “ Here, have some. They’re good.” She offered me.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Takoyaki.”
Still not knowing what the heck that is, I took one and put it in my mouth. The aroma is rather elegant, and the taste was satisfying. It’s delicious! The texture of the chewed Takoyaki and the aftertaste is absolutely wonderful!
“This isn’t bad…”
She giggled, “Isn’t it?” The girl sat beside me and I engaged in a social conversation with her. She is an interesting person. And when I came to my realization, we’ve been sitting here for the whole entire day; it was nightfall.
“Ah! It’s already this late!?” she bowed as a farewell and hurried on her way.
I have successfully learned something new about humans today, and that is: Humans talk a lot.
