This 2011 batch of newbies is generally awesome, but I guess I've chosen her as the one I want to get to know the most among S/mileage new faces XD

^ Oh, cool... thanks for that!  I was puzzled cos most of the ones up for sale had that image even though CDJapan had the vertical one.  Looks like they were selling it so briefly that they never bothered to update the image   :P   Thanks for clarifying for me!

From what I researched, the play is based on a true story about an idol named Minako Honda, who passed away due to leukemia.

I know it's not much but I'm digging what I hear of "Kagayaite ~My dream goes on~" so far with that hard hitting midtempo beat combined with the inspirational vibe. Its composer is Kari Kimmel, an established American songwriter who's worked on a lot of TV and movie soundtracks, and the lyricist, Shōko Fujibayashi, has written Japanese versions of songs for some kpop acts before.

"Summertime" is a lot more bubbly and will take a big longer for me to take a liking to it, although it's notable for lyrics being written by Meimi herself!

And while there's no preview clip available for it, apparently there's a bonus track which is a cover of "Lovin' You" by Minnie Riperton! I can't wait to hear how she tackles the English lyrics and those ridiculous high notes.
