Just finished Water Boys 1!!! OMG!!! I LOVED IT!!!! Everyone should watch it!!! XD AND! There's H!P pimpage in it XD There's Koi no Dance Site and Momoiro no Kataomoi performances =O!!!!
I  Water Boys!!!!!!!!
Wut a coincidence! I Just finished watching Water Boys 2! I highly reccomend both 1 & 2 everyone! It's a different type of drama, well different from what i've seen.
I agree ^_^ They're both awesome  I gotta watch the last few episodes of WB2 now. I just finished Dragonzakura and it was quite good. With Yamapi and Teppei, and even the Water Boys guy, it really was worth watching XD  .
currently I'm watching Taiyou no Uta series. and I still have Sapuri to watch too :D
I just finished watching tokyo friends and attention please both are pretty good!
now i'm gonna watch hana yori dango!
I just finished watching ruri no shima and I really like it.
To suki: Is Tokyo Tower that good? I like Hayami Mocomichi a lot but there's only one episode released and more importantly, there's no subtitles :(.
Well, I love crying buckets :P -> will download tonight and watch it without subtitble :).
So, currently watching: Tokyo Tower added ^_^!
anythursday: go for Hana Kimi, it's amazing ^_^!!! Ella is not too cute but she's a good actress (or actor, in this series :P).
Hana Yori Dango 2 for now. Nothing much else has caught my eye yet for this season, so I shall just wait for some other reviews and more opinions to pop up before I commit myself to more dramas.
Still not done yet with 14sai no Haha, and Nodame Cantabile yet from last season, so still have some backlog to do.
how was HYD2? i just heard there was lots of hanazawa rui in the first ep
And last but not least..fuckin' Unfair! That's right! This is to hoping it doesn't get forgotten this time.
tragedies have a tragic ending :P
Just watched the first episode of Teppan Shoujo Akane. Seems like an alright show.
The only thing that bugs me so far are the special effects.
Seito Shokun ep.1 = it sucks like ****, trying to be a Gokusen but no one can replace Yankumi
Currently watching:
Liar Game

Papa to Musume's light humor was better than expected. But so short! Why not 10 days!!!
and I'll watch SP too soon~ ;D
Frantically trying to finish up RONDO. My mom bought a Region-3 DVD set and I gotta give it back today.
What a wacky drama...
Not a drama, but I just finished watching Ashita no Watashi no Tsukurikata (http://watatsuku.goo.ne.jp/index_f.html) with Narumi Riko and AKB's Acchan.
Aborenbo MAMA with Aya Ueto-chan ^^Not to be found under that name on d-addicts... any place else??
^ Abarenbo Mama (http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/torrents.php?search=Abarenbo+mama&type=&sub=View+all&sort=) :P

can someone reccomend me another good dorama in 2008
can someone reccomend me another good dorama in 2008
Maou is awesome, dunno if you've watched it.
no  for Shoni Kyuumei? you ppl suck.
I dlded the first episode of Gokusen. Haven't watched it yet.. I hope it's good.
Ryouma Den ep1 to 3 = very insightful, since I have no idea about this person's history except hearing the name every so often. I really hope to learn more about him from the drama.
Is Maeda Atsuko in that much, at all?
Been wanting to watch it, but..
^I was going to say Buzzer Beat. But that's totally romance driven. :P
You could try My Girl. It stars Masaki Aiba (from Arashi). He finds out he has a daughter and suddenly needs to learn how to take care of her alone.
It's very emotional, and also weighs on some realistic and very serious issues. Like how he'd balance his mother's expectations, his work attitude, the best environment for his daughter to grow up, and also his career's future.
can anyone recommend me another?
i think i'm sick of unrealistic comedy drama already. when i watched hanazakari it was still ok, and then come mei-chan no shitsuji, atashinchi and yamada neshiko, etc.
so i'm thinking something realistic, with real problems that you can connect, something not too dark, romance is okay but if possible not the main drive of the story; the closest one i can think is beautiful life, heh, not too recent either.
thnx in advance
Gold is actually scaring me with its bunch of story twists.
I watched ep7 and I actually never saw it coming, I don't think they tipped the viewers at all beforehand.
Currently watching Unubore Keiji (or Unubore Deka) with Tomoya Nagase. Really liked him in My Boss My Hero, and he shines comedically in the episodes of this series that I have seen so far. There will be a series of well known actresses in each episode (already have seen Ai Katoh and Yu Aoi in the first two episodes) but it is Mika Nakashima that is really fun to see. Hope her part keeps getting attention.

watching this currently aswell :3 kudo kankuro is an awesome scriptwriter and didn't disappoint me this time either, this show is pure gold :D
Currently, I am re-watching LIFE.Completely agree with you on LIFE. I am not one to use hyperbole- but this was as moving a drama as I have ever seen on television. Touching on the theme of group cowardice versus individual bravery, but also emphasizing the beauty of empathetic friendship, and truth prevailing over darkness and greed. Please watch this drama if you have the chance. :thumbup
This is one of the few dramas that I would willingly watch again and again and never get tired of it. I am addicted lol
^^ Read most of the mangas though I thought the show might be a little too sad, after reading those posts may give it a try. :yep:
Currently watching Otomen, quite a strange series, quite lame and predictable but have to admit I'm enjoying it, fits into the guilty pleasure category. Really like Kaho, think she has the potential to become quite a popular actress in the next few years.

Yeah, you're right about the whole series in general, there are so many funny moments, got 2 episodes left, sort of hoping it wasn't going to end. :w00t:^^ Read most of the mangas though I thought the show might be a little too sad, after reading those posts may give it a try. :yep:

Agree that watching Kaho in this series is worth the watch. And the series actually has some pretty well written comedic moments.
^ Try Triangle! It's a mystery/suspense show and it's pretty amazing :)Good choice, :yep: I second that recommendation, Yosuke Eguchi is so good in it plus it's got Ryoko Hirosue. :twothumbs
MR Brain is a great serie!Shurrupak, I agree, I really enjoyed the stories and the cast were all very interesting.
^^ I had the same problem too in not being able to watch the last 2 episodes, :sweatdrop: what a shame tooo as it was such a fantastic series. There's 2 more seasons of Hancho though not subbed yet(?). As far as Kuranosuke Sasaki goes, he's a fave of mine too, check out his movie The Mamiya Brothers, one of the best films from the last 5 years. :thumbsupYoshino san, thanks for all the great recommendations- I will surely be checking those out. And belated Happy Rikamas!
Also the drama with him M no Higeki is highly recommended, one of my all time faves and another good one is Shimokita Sundays.
Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta (feat Shinoda Mariko) (http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?topic=28011.0)Just started watching that also, first 2 episodes, shaping up to be a good one hopefully won't get too cheezy at the end.
Still working on Unubore, 3 episodes into Bartender, 6 episodes into Utsukushii Rinjin & Taitsetsu, 3 into Bambino, 2 into Mr. Brain, and I have Trick downloaded too :sweatdrop:
I like Unubore, I just get side-tracked easily. Bartender is kinda ok, good to kill time with. Really liked the first episode of Mr. Brain, looks like it'll get better too.
BUT SHIT, Utsukushii Rinjin is really good. Yukie is giving me nightmares
^^ DA has subs for episode 2 of Boss, got them there about a week ago, sadly don't think Kimoto is going to be a regular. :(Yoshino san, what does DA stand for?...is it a site like dramacrazy, mysoju, etc.?
Stands for D-Addicts, has every drama from Asia you would want, not all are subbed but the majority are, you download via torrents which are normally fast, least most newer ones are, Boss took about 10 minutes. :thumbsup^^ DA has subs for episode 2 of Boss, got them there about a week ago, sadly don't think Kimoto is going to be a regular. :(Yoshino san, what does DA stand for?...is it a site like dramacrazy, mysoju, etc.?
Majisuka Gakuen 2
Started "Proposal Daisakusen" a few days ago. Not a Yamapi fan -- either his character or his acting is dragging down my enjoyment of the story. Ancillary cast is OK. Will stick with it to the end.Saburo 様 , stick with it.....his character develops and the other friends become interesting as well :thumbsup
Still haven't finished BOSS or CHANGE, though.
Started on Zenkai Girl & Hana Kimi 2011 now :cathappy:
ZG is pretty aight, but Hana Kimi 2011 not so much. Acchan makes a pretty dude, at least. Halfway through Jin 1 now, and starting Karei naru Spy now.
Finiished up Zettai Kareshi, which was quite sappy and fluffy but it was a real fun watch. Gonna try to watch two at once, unsure of what the second one will be but doing a rewatch of the 1996 drama Oishii Kankei, really think the late 90's and early 2000's were the best for dramas. :)I enjoyed Zettai Kareshi as well - it was fun. Saki Aibu and Mokomichi Hayami, who played Tenjo Knight, worked really well together.

After a long time begin watching!Enjoyed "Kimi wa petto"....unusual premise, but good show! :twothumbs
And started "Kimi wa petto"!
^^I watched a few episodes of IS but forgot about it in the surge of dramas.
Just finished it off. It's definitely a good drama. :thumbup
Ayame Goriki is awesome and lovable in it. :)
It's pretty crazy how she's doing all these unlikeable/bully-type roles in recent dramas, while continually making such a great impression.
^^ Speaking of Beautiful Life, ‘Kaseifu no Mita’ had the highest rated episode for any episode since that series, from Oricon:^Actually, I was talking about that record, not start watching Beautiful Life now. :P Pretty hard to say you're a jdrama fan but still haven't watched Beautiful Life in the past 10 years. :P
Can't believe you haven't seen Beautiful Life yet, :( that really is the best drama ever, like I mentioned above have seen it 6-7 times and it's one you can never ever get tired of. :shocked Takuya has his coolest role in this plus Takako is great in such a hard role but do admit Miki Mizuno was my fave in the show, one of the most underrated actresses ever. :sweatdrop:
then I will try to find "Beautiful Life" which I have not watched yet...........
Really late to the game on this one but man, City Hunter is greatHi Borp. This thread is mainly for Japanese dramas. For Korean drama discussion, try the Korean Drama Thread. :thumbup
Picked up Kagi, Legal High, ATARU, and Mirai Nikki. Pleased with the first eps so far, haven't been this excited for dorama in a long time. Here's hoping I finish all the series this time!Nice choices. The 2nd episode of Kagi was much better. More simple to understand making it more fun.

Kagi no Kakatta Heya ep01 - Just watched. I thought it was really excellent! :thumbupSleep tightly :cathappy:.... Another World is great, can't wait for the second episode, have Legal High just haven't started it yet. Kagi no Kakatta Heya watched the first 2 episodes, been okay though a bit confusing at times, also the first 2 episodes of Juunen Saki mo Kimi ni Koishite, been better than expected, maybe because it's only 6 episodes so no time for any filler which is what dragged down Zenkai Girl a bit, on episode 9 of it, just a so-so watch, the cast has been fine just the storyline has been too simple and predictable. :(
Mirai Nikki Another World ep01 - kinda like Liar Game. I'm hooked. That kiss!
Legal High ep01 - hilarious! It's a gem! Hope the ratings improve. :nervous
Okay, I'm off to bed :panic:
^then you must have enjoyed Zenkai Girl XD
Not yet, up to episode 7, problem has been it's not an easy drama to get, really not as popular as I thought it would/should be, :sweatdrop: have to say it's much more enjoyable than you would think considering the subject matter.
I wonder if Yoshino ever finished IS? It wasn't my usual type of drama but I loved how it covered so many untouched and taboo issues.

Yeah, I think the synopsis would put a lot of people off, especially people who aren't so open-minded. I don't know how accurately it portrays the feelings of people who are IS, but it does a good job of showing you how their life is changed because of it. I really wish more people watched it! Much better than the generic love story.
And I know I'm super late, but I finally got around to watching Mr. Brain, and it was amazing! There were crazy guest stars in every episode and even though it was a police/mystery drama, it had this creepy and suspenseful feel that made every episode so exciting! One of the best dramas I've seen in a long while!
マーセッション! (HAMMER SESSION) with Mirai Shida, Mokomichi Hayami, and Manami Higa.....up to episode three. Enjoyable, nothing groundbreaking, but the three leads all are enjoyable, watchable, and fun.
GTO 2012!!! It has a different vibe from the original but still, it's cool!
Kuro no Onna, just so disappointing, had such potential to be among the year's best and just fell flat on it's face, only recommendation is to skip it.
Re-watching the first season of Liar Game while waiting for English Subs for the new movie (Liar Game reborn).
Itsuka and Shotenin both have 10 episodes. Both ending next week on 12th Mar.
Actually I was quite interest in this 2 drama,
Itsuka Hi no Ataru Basho de & Shoten In Michiru no Mi no Uebanashi,
Shotenin Michiru no Mi no Uebanashi - Think this is the best dorama of the season! Till ep4. Toda Erika was amazing! Lots of twists and had me at the edge! Highly recommended dorama!
Shoten In Michiru no Mi no Uebanashi, finished episode 8, can't believe how it keeps getting better with each show, :yep: gonna do a rewatch of it even before I've watched the entire series. :O
Doing a rewatch of this again, probably for about the 40th time, a watch of this should be a requirement before you can join this site.

Don't know why but just grabbed the whole series and will probably start it this weekend but haven't watched Code Blue for a couple of months so we'll see what happens. :?

.... and was very surprised that this is being subbed, watched the first two episodes and this is a real winner, Limit.Funny, I'm only following this right now. checked out ep3 yesterday. Good stuff. :thumbsup
No doubt through 2 episodes Hanazawa Naoki could be the best of the season.... :O
(http://imageshack.us/a/img594/7402/6ov7.jpg)
'Hanzawa Naoki' recorded an amazing average episode rating of 27.6% (Kansai: 27.5%), which is an improvement of 4.7% compared to last week's already great rating of 22.9%. The rating peaked at exactly 30.0% (Kansai: 30.5%) when the Hanzawa (Sakai Masato) confronted the club hostess played by Dan Mitsu.

Watched episode 4 subbed! Ueto Aya was great too although in a supporting role (as the supportive wife). Sakai Masato was truly awesome and likely frontrunner for best actor.
Indeed, Hanzawa Naoki is truly the best of the season! TBS summer 2013 drama "Hanzawa Naoki" which has been a ratings winner this season, finished on a high note with a rating of 42.2% in the Kanto region for its finale shown on 22 Sep. It got an even higher figure of 45.5% in the Kansai region as announced by Video Research on 24 Sep. With this result, "Hanzawa Naoki" is No.4 in terms of top average ratings for dramas in the Kanto region since ratings monitoring began in September 1977 and has grabbed the No.1 spot in Kansai, beating "Mito Komon" which had held the title since 1981. Amid low ratings plaguing Japanese dramas in recent years, "Hanzawa Naoki" has managed to buck the trend thus making it a rare ratings winner.
As for the highest single moment rating, "Hanzawa Naoki" scored 46.7% in Kanto and 50.4% in Kansai at the point right after the episode ended.

i only watch k-drama and i want to begin a j-drama , can you recomended me a good one for begin , i like school story or romance but not melodrama ^^Can't really think of any recent school dramas that really stand out.
Started watching Umi no Ue no Shinryojo but quit after three eps. After watching the whole thing, I'd say they're both annoying characters. Really disappointed. And a total waste of Matsuda and Takei's talent.
It had some entertaining scenes, but that doctor character is pretty damn annoying.
Finally started Hard Nuts:Another Hard Nuts lover, yay! Fist-bump.
This show is awesome. Very entertaining and light, despite the serious crimes and heavy math insights. The cast works really well together.
Btw, is it me or did Nounen Rena's portrayal of Amano Aki rub off on Hashimoto Ai here? Her chara gave me massive Aki vibes at first. lol
Almost completed Miss Pilot, one episode left.I watched the last episode today. Totally agree with what you said.
Horikita Maki is great as always. Love the airplane stuff too.
My only beef with the show is that it is a bit overly dramatic at times. First you got all the drama surrounding you know who during the training.
When that was finally resolved all that stuff with Tezuka's you know what happened. Bit of a downer.
Would have liked them to do more with all the romance triangles they got going on to provide a lighter comical note in the series.
Starting up the Winter dramas. :)
Nothing particularly good. Nothing totally boring either. But I'm just starting
Must watch:
S - Saigo no Keikan (http://www.tbs.co.jp/S-saigonokeikan-/) ep01 - High-profile 'movie-quality' manga turned drama. The creation of a new police assault unit "NPS", that takes down dangerous criminals while vowing not to allow anyone to die in the process. Solid stuff.
Shitsuren Chocolatier (http://www.fujitv.co.jp/chocolatier/) ep01 - Romance comedy with an idol cast. MatsuJun and Ishihara Satomi are an awesome pairing, basically every scene with those two make for some great laughs. LOL at random erotic Satomi eating chocolate scene. LOL x2 at MatsuJun wedding speech.
Don't know if I'm laughing more at MatsuJun's chara being such a masochist, or my past self for chasing someone just like Saeko... :sweatdrop:
Good:
Kinkyu Torishirabeshitsu (http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/kintori/) ep01 - Same old negotiator-type cop drama. Just think Koshonin, switch Yonekura Ryoko to Amami Yuki, have 80% of the show filmed in one room, and you have a basic idea of the first episode. Don't think it'll do anything surprising, but it does have a great supporting cast doing their magic with the characters.
Iryu 4 (http://www.fujitv.co.jp/iryu4/) ep01 - More of the same hospital drama goodness.
Senryokugai Sousakan (http://www.ntv.co.jp/senryokugai/) ep01 - Light-hearted cop drama with Takei Emi going back to her cute meddling character-type (Thank god! No more boring Umi no Ue no Shinryojo chara!). Another EXILE'r TAKAHIRO dipping into acting. He's not bad, but definitely room for improvement. If they spark it off, it might turn out pretty good.
Lost Days (http://www.fujitv.co.jp/lostdays/) ep01 - A group of graduating classmates having a holiday before they go into society, at one of the girl's family mountain cabins. Surprisingly finding her creepy brother already there. And news of a convict on the loose in the area. Plus a really messed up love relationship chart. Let the mystery murders begin. :D
Waits for the imminent Kamen Rider Kiva vs Kamen Rider W battle.
Dr. DMAT (http://www.tbs.co.jp/DrDMAT/) ep01 - Another hospital drama. About a doctor joining DMAT, a disaster rescue team made of volunteers. While battling the trauma of previously being unable to save his little sister, that is currently in a coma.
OK. It's more interesting than my explanation. But the story is pretty slow and the cast is isn't that strong.
OK:
Boku no Ita Jikan (http://www.fujitv.co.jp/bokunoitajikan/) ep01 - I think it's a really good drama. Basically 1 Litre no Namida (guy version). I'm pretty depressed already IRL though, so I might drop this before I get more sad. :P
Dropping:
Nazo no Tenkosei (http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/nazono_tenkosei/) ep01 - Weird Sci-fi show. Not that interesting.
Kami no Tsuki (http://www.nhk.or.jp/drama10/kaminotsuki/) ep01 - A housewife having a mid-life crisis. It reminds me of Shotenin Michiru no Mi no Uebanashi that Erika Toda was in. Pacing is really slow though (that's like Shotenin Michiru too!). Way too many depressing drama scenes for me to enjoy it.
^I think Yoru no Sensei is the only 'school drama' this season, and it's the "teacher helping students" theme. Totally different from the fun highschool drama genre you're looking for.
Maybe cos it's Winter, all the dramas need to be super-serious. :P
You might like Shitsuren Chocolatier. The manga romance/comedy should help balance out Boku no Ita Jikan nicely.
Kyo kara Ore wa!! (From Today it’s My Turn!https://asianmoviepulse.com/2021/06/film-review-from-today-its-my-turn-2020-by-yuichi-fukuda/
Comedy that marches to the beat of a different drum, so to speak
