Aww Airi's version is kinda disappointing... I think that song needs a 'deeper', maturer voice, Maki does it well... But even besides that, I was expecting more from Airi. When is she going to start improving vocally? She was given a gift of singing and sounds like she's not doing anything with it... If she practiced hard she could basically blow everyone away, but her singing is still the same as in Aa!... LOL I keep whining about this, sorry :P I just think it's such a shame.

Hmm...her singing is okay, but it lacks emotion. I don't know why, but that seems to be the problem for some of the kids who are pegged as 'good singers'. It's just the first concert, though. Put more feelings into it and it should be perfect. :)

I just got back from today's show. HOMG I MET C-UTE x_X I had no idea about the handshake thing, so when they kept us all after and had us leave in an orderly fashion I'm like O.o some kind of freebie maybe? Next thing I know, I'm getting shoved by guards and Erika's holding my hand x_x
I met Maimi. Life is complete x_x I also got manhandled by guards right at Airi, I guess people linger too long with her, haha. Saki is so adorable in real life, so tiny!! Uh, my brain's all over the place right now. I had absolutely no idea until literally Erika was upon me. I'd have been more prepared if I'd known!
I also spent a good deal of the time before and after the concert speaking to some of the wota. One guy there was absolutely lovely, even with my bad Japanese, we must have chatted for an hour or two. I'll tell you what, C-ute's fans have to be the most orderly, polite bunch of fans in H!P. I've never seen them so well behaved.
Concert itself was amazing. No encore, but the handshake more than makes up for that. As One wins for the dance. JUMP is a fantastic starter. But Sakura Chirari had the flower dance move of O.o taken out from the middle, it seemed very strange without it. A few dances were changed actually.
Regarding Megu's lines, they pretty much all went to Erika and Mai. Maimi took her lines in Massara, and Airi got a few here and there as well. I think Saki and Kanna also got one or two in other songs, but mostly Erika and Mai got them. It's strange to hear Mai singing Megu's lines.
The Cutie Girls part is hilarious. As was the VTR. It has Saki going around checking on all the girls, to see if they're ready for their debut. It takes the piss out of all of them. Mai's trying on glasses, Erika's practicing cute poses in front of the mirror, Kanna is... being flexible O.o Chisato's out running, Airi's playing the piano, and Maimi is... being tennen as usual, freaking Saki out. Haha. They also ask the girls for advice at the 10th anniversary concert. Yuko's part is absolutely hilarious.
Not sure what else to say. There were three costumes changes. The first one was probably my favourite, just a yellow short and the girls had kind of white pin striped shorts/pants/skirts. Second was nighties, much like the Otome ones. Last was a red dress. All lovely.
Oh, and singing live, these girls win. At the start you couldn't hear them so well over the music, but once they kicked in, they absolutely kill the Berryz. Even Saki, whose voice literally used to make me cringe, she's amazing now. Mai still has trouble, but geez, she's 11. She also made the point that in two months she'll be the only H!P member still in elementary school. Heh.
Anyway, my bus arrives soon, just wasting time before I go. I'll post more later.

She wouldn't let go of my hand! Haha :heart: I'm kinda O.O deer in headlights, she's kinda O.O deer in headlights, until I'm like, HOLY FUCK MAIMI HOMGZ and the world is a blur. I don't remember the next two hours after that. For real. Where did they go?
I'm still in shock... mostly because I had no idea at all.
Regarding the other announcements, no new members, no graduations, nothing. Just the handshake event. Everyone was there.

Maimai and Chisato sound better at their solos than Yajima and Airi at beginning XD It could've been the dancing, but I don't know. Saki and Kanna both have improved, which is nice! And Umeda probably sounds one of the best live, which surprised me a bit. Airi and Maimi sound waay out of breathe at their parts. Saki and Maimai did a bit, too, but the other two (Kanna & Chisato) didn't :D Airi sounded normal at the end, too! I like how it's all live <3

I'm really impressed with Maimai! They all sound really nice (and a lot better) in this song, and you can tell Saki is getting rid of the weirdness of her voice, which is nice! :D I think Kanna got Megu's lines in this song :D
03. As ONE
I LOVE this song! Probably my favorite from their album! I think Megu only has one line in this song, and it SOUNDS like Chisato, but then I hear someone else sing with her near the end! :O Airi sounded pretty cool in this song live :D
04. ENDLESS LOVE ～I Love You More～
"Who got Megu's lines?" was my big concern in this song because she sounded pretty awesome in this song. I was hoping Chisato, but Maimai got them... :( Which is a BIG disappointment because she sounds too young for part... :( Still an awesome song, and she doesn't do a bad job :)

Erika got Megu's lines in this song... I think! It actually sounds a bit split up between girls :O But this song is still as good as when Megu was there! Maimai got some, too, I guess XD I thought I heard Chisato in one of the lines, too, but I really don't know!
06. YES! Shiawase
I THOUGHT I HEARD MEGU! I have no idea who got her lines, though! I never listened to this song much from their album (even though I LOVE T&C :D)! I THINK it might be Kanna XD
07. SHALL WE LOVE? / Umeda, Yajima, Arihara, Nakajima
I can't wait to see this song since these three oldest girls are awesome dancers~ It's not that bad vocally, but it's no where near where Gomatto is~ :D
08. Aenai Nagai Nichiyoubi / Okai, Hagiwara
This is the song I've been waiting to hear!!! These girls are awesome together, so I can't wait to see it! And they do a really good job with it! Chisato REALLY sounds like Miki in a few parts, but I want to hear do this song by herself sometime! Overall, I really like this song!!! I hope they do another song for their Spring Tour! Chisato :heart: :heart: :heart:

Airi sounds really good in this song, but as tama said, she needs to put a bit more emotion in it~

I LOVE this song, too, so another song I couldn't wait to hear~ Both girls (since Saki wasn't there) sounded awesome! I actually want to a hear a duet between them because they have similar vocal tones! Chisato sounded like she got Sayaka's lines, and I assume Airi got Goto's, but I really don't know!
Otome Pasta ni Kandou / Umeda, Yajima, Arihara, Hagiwara + All
The intro to this song was awesome!!! Maimai got Kago's, Kanna got Rika's, Maimi got Yagu's, and Erika with Iida's :D Not as good as their one a few years ago with Megu and Airi, but still pretty nice~ :D

Erika still has Megu's lines :D Which is awesome in my book because I REALLY wanted to see her perform this song!!! I really like her voice better with Airi because they both have higher pitched voices :D Both girls did an awesome job with their leads :D

Back home. 6am in the morning two days in a row should be illegal for one such as myself x_x I have slight coherence back though. Yay me! My thoughts on the setlist (being that it's 7am and I can't go back to sleep now, damn bus)
01. JUMP
Kind of like Morning Curry, I think this is a great song to start with. So upbeat and it gets everyone jumping and singing. The girl's costumes were great too. It was a bit iffy at the start, you couldn't hear Saki and Airi over the music, but it got kind of straightened out by the end.
02. EVERYDAY YEAH! Kataomoi
For some reason I've always liked the dance to this song. Great to see it live, Maimi proved to me once again that she's the best dancer in the group.
03. As ONE
Again, the dance to this song was fantastic. I've always loved this song anyway, but now, wow. I need to get the DVD for this one alone.

I wanted to see how this would be done without Megu, seeing as it was really her song. Erika took most of her lines, although a good deal of the time it was just Maimi and Airi up front. Still, this song is amazing live, probably still my favourite C-ute song.

Again, don't remember anything terribly special here.

This was great. Just the girls talking about school and stupid little things that have shocked them, disappointed them, etc etc. Airi and Chisato slapped Mai across the head at the end, which alone made it win :D
07. SHALL WE LOVE? kanna・naki・maimi・erika
First costume change, looks very similiar to the nighties they wore at Otome Gokoro actually. Maimi and Erika as the leads, a swift death to my heart soon followed. Let's get Maimi singing more please :heart: Saki looked kinda outta place with the other girls though, seeing as she's still so tiny.
There's also a short MC with these girls here talking about Erika and Maimi starting high school this year, and what the girls all want to achieve.
08. Aenai Nagai Nichiyoubi maimai・chisato
Kinda tuned out a little here, not a huge fan of these two.
09.Sayonara no LOVE SONG airi
I loved this one. Airi looked kinda nervous out there by herself, which was quite endearing. And live she's still one of the better singers, not hard to see why she got the first solo of the group.

I preferred the Otome version of this song. Half way through the girls just sat on the stage and that was that. No more dancing. Kind of just swaying and I guess it was break time, but still.
13. Sakura Chirari
I don't know why they took out the dance in the middle O.o It was very odd. There was a huge pink screen behind them just for this song, which was also a little strange.
14. Ookina Ai de Motenaishite
Always win. Kanna's taken Megu's jump part in the middle, Megu's lines went to I think mostly Erika again, but also Maimi and Airi too. Maybe.
15. Massara Blue Jeans
I've been waiting forever to see this live, it didn't disappoint :heart: This time Megu's lines mostly went to Maimi, who now pretty much holds the whole song up. She was singing the entire time. I love this song!! :heart:
Then the girls said goodbye, we got locked inside (I should have known something was up when the doors said we couldn't leave before we'd even entered), then after about 20 minutes we got ushered out and C-ute was there. I had no idea, so, shock of my life x_x
And that's that. C-ute got a big kind of "hip hip, hooray!" from the crowd at one point, when Maimi was talking about them finally debuting and having their own individual concert. There was generally just a lot of love for the group going around, and people were very well behaved (moreso than Berryz or Momusu concerts...).
I saw the tiniest little girl there and she had a Mai fan, it was so cute!! Not so many girls or children in general, as usual, but they were there. Just in small numbers :p

Hmmm no concert DVD reviews in this thread? T_____T
I thought this concert was great! C-ute dance decently, have good voices and chemistry, so it's lots of fun to watch them.
Highlights for me were:
+ JUMP as the opening song, great choice there
+ Erika shining on stage, she's such a good performer. She always has that special sparkle in her eyes and she's never "absent"
+ Chisato's singing, god I love her voice. If she keeps improving she'll be able to outshine several most of her senpais... Her voice seems to be able to have the same strength as Miki's, but it's less nasal
+ The choreographies at this concert in general were very nice, or should I say the girls are surprisingly good dancers. But to be honest I mostly look at Erika and Maimi dancing cuz they're the tallest XD
+ The VTR was absolutely HILARIOUS
+ Aenai nagai nichiyoubi, because Chisato is love
+ It was nice how the singles were saved last so that everyone could get all pumped up for them
Minus points:
- Sayonara no LOVE SONG was so boring. I know Airi's #1 popular, but her lack of charisma when she's on stage by herself (she's good in groups) + this song + no emotion in her singing = nooooo
- I still don't understand the choreography of Sakura chirari: why do they have to turn their backs to the audience all the time, even when they're singing ??? That's like the one thing performers are always told NOT to do. LOL
That was just my stuffs. All in all a great concert and I want to watch it again.

Anyways! Here's my review!
-JUMP as opening kicks ass
-Chisato kicks ass
-As ONE has CRAZY harmonies
Ok there are some other things I would like to point out.
-Airi gets WHORED OUT. Fucking Soku Dakishimete is basically all her now.
-Chisato barely gets any of Megumi's lines. They either went to Kanna, Maimai, or Erika. Come on! Chisato >>>> Megumi!!!
-Chisato also seems a bit nervous when on stage. Maimai looks like she's having fun, but Chisato looks stiff and awkward.
-Nakajima Saki uses this weird deep voice when she sings. It's like Risako when she sings live.
And they all cried at the end! So did Berryz at their first concert, but they were like.. T_T.. Water works!

^SO you should be! She's amazing. I still stand by my opinion of Chisato and Maimai(chisato being the top of the two though) being two of the best H!Pkids vocally. I mean maimai just needs a little more control sometimes(and that's very rare) Chisato's voice is incredible as it is AND she's improving.
Airi sounds, to me in this concert, like she hasn't really improved at all
With JUMP opening, that meant that Chisato was the second voice heard so the concert was off to a great start.
unfortunately, this concert highlighted what my fears where a while back(but then where put aside at the yomiuri land show) that kanna and saki need a lot more control of their voices. The thing is, I honestly worry about the amount of vocal training these girls get.
anyway a highlight for me was the H!P song medly bit(with mirakururun, chokotto and otome pasta)
i thought Airi's song was disappointing, as others have said it had no feeling. you can't sing a ballad with no feeling. it was boring and almost anyone could have sung it with the same amount of liking from me.
I also think Erika's stage presence was good and the only thing that let her down was loosing control of her voice every so often.
Overall a very good concert!! cyring at the end T__T so much emotion, it was amazing! you could hear the strain at the end, from putting 100% in throughout the concert, Maimi's voice sounds deeper and Airi's gets squeaky.
oh and trying to say this without upsetting too many people, but Airi in general was the biggest dissapointment of an otherwise amazing concert!
