^Depends on the price, I'd be interested if it's cheap enough and shipping cost was good.

Damn  :( American McGee's "Alice" for Macintosh is sold out on Amazon, and that's the only place I know of that's reliable in buying it...

(Anyone else know a place I can get it?)

Yo fellow geeks.
Speaking of graphic cards...

Anyone happens to know if some graphic cards require some kind of cpu power?
I would say no but some shops with it's details made me curious.
They listed Core 2 Duo as requirement for a 9600GT :?

So anyone can confirm that it's not true?
I want to be safe before I buy one

To somewhat nitpick: graphic cards (always) require programs to run, so yes, they need CPU also (to run the driver itself for example)

It might be they have a standard 'fillin the blanks' form to put articles up, and someone just filled the CPU.

Link to article might help in determining what is the reason here.

I think what they're trying to say is, you wouldn't bother with any cpu that's less than a Core 2 Duo if you're going to get a 9600gt

The card will run fine with any cpu that is also compatible with a motherboard that has PCI Express. (both LGA775 or AM2)

So as long as your motherboard has got the slot, the card will run. If your cpu happens to be some slowass Celeron or something, the card will still run but you wasted your money on it cause games will probably be slow from the CPU being crap.

hey nachdenki, I'm using 9600GT  ..... it still got a lot of bugs >_<""  (even after I updated the drivers) ....... prepare to see the famous "blue screen of death" ......... I can't even play "Age of Empire 2" ... the color looks weird and around an hour or two, the driver crashed

I'm waiting for the newest driver to come out ..... (actually I'm waiting the EVGA 9800GT to be on sale @ EVGA website, so I can use the EVGA set step-up program)

note: I'm using Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.5 OC, EVGA nForce 780i Motherboard, and 4GB DDR2 RAM 4-4-4-12

Thanks frblckstr1, ebc and chokkan.

I have a PCIe slot (also PCIe graphic card) so the card should work I guess.

So it will probably not run as good/fast as it could with my p4 (3ghz) but as long as it works it's okay.
I can upgrade the motherboard, cpu and ram later, I just don't want to get an older graphic card now because I would want to buy a new one too soon so I would end up paying twice.

About the bugs... wth? :O
I hope they fix that soon~ but it won't affect me that much hopefully since I actually don't play much at all. I just noticed that my old 6600GT can't run new games properly anymore after seeing some game on my brother's new pc  it made me feel like I need to get a new card.

You know, it sounds more like a faulty card. You should get it replaced. I've used a 9600gt before and it was flawless.

The cards shouldn't be any different from other nvidia cards and should work fine with any game that something like an 8800gt can run. (which I have and it runs everything)

You should test the card in another PC just to be sure.

Actually, what OS are you running? Try just XP 32bit

nah, I'm gonna step up to 9800gx2 ~ I just paid off all credit card debt .... now I'm in a deepshit hole ...... AGAIN

I'm using WinXP 32bit ............ maybe it's perfect for Vista ??

EDIT: I forgot to mention I use dual monitors ..... I always watching H!P stuff while surfing the net + listening to mp3 ^_^
