The three drunken middle-aged dudes were good too. They had more skills than the demons  :cow:

Much higher level than last week for sure  :thumbup

- Geinin: Meh. Funny how they were better than that gasmask band.
- Ukulele: Flawless performance, good arrangement, cute appearance... but more than one song and it gets boring.
- Tangobuchan: Similar too SHNJ48, but with a much better arrangement. Very very cool. I could feel the power and energy.
- Jazz: I hate jazz. But trying to be objective, the arrangement was all over the place. I didn't enjoy this at all.
- Demons: Lame image aside, musically it was pretty solid. Awesome red Jackson guitar too. Duel guitar attack. I'm especially happy all the member really enjoyed some heavy rock action.

My personal winner from the two episodes... Tangobuchan! Same amount of impact as that demon band, but with less the experience and lesser material. Great arrangement, good playing and overall a blast to watch and listen to.  :thumbup

I think the jazz band arrangement was maybe better than that, and I though their overall performance was very good in filling the assignment (Please interpret this song in your band's style)........but your comment about how you don't like Jazz is the key point........You saw the same thing with the AKB48 girls' reactions to the jazz song and the rock songs. Jazz is far less popular with a certain generation (let's say under 40 years of age) than other pop and rock music, and somewhat like the Uke music, it has it's place, but not as universally as other music.

And I did like Tangobuchan- and the girls in AKB48 really related to them- a group of high school aged girls working hard in practice and then putting it out there on stage with the risk of not being liked....something the AKB48 girls have to face themselves.

I did like the old guys' band, they had the old 'rock 'n' roll will never die' spirit!

Overall, have to give credit to the producers of the show. They found a good mix of contestants, and it made for great entertainment, and hopefully gave a lot of musicians some inspiration to keep practicing in those rental rooms they have in Japan (as opposed to 'Garage Bands' in other countries)

These past two episodes of AKBINGO are some of the best episodes ever. I've loved every second of it. The different takes on the song were all awesome to see. So much talent in Japan for sure. :twothumbs

Recently gone back to pick up some episodes I never watched before (around Ep 10-60) of AKBingo and it's just amazing how some have changed. For instance Mayuyu, she is this shy and adorable kid and for some reason I get reminded of her Majisuka Gakuen character Nezumi, who is the complete opposite. Jurina also looks alot different, but there is still traces of that lively and strong girl in her younger version.

It's amazing.

Quote
120912 AKBingo, Watanabe Mayu’s letter to Kashiwagi Yuki translated

To Yukirin

A few years ago, when we were shopping together in Shibuya, I was being
scouted and Yukirin was told “it would be great if Okaa-san came along as
well.” Yukirin who was only a first year highschooler, probably received a
huge shock then.

But, Yukirin really is just like a mother, who looks after my everything, I’ve
been doted on. For example, taking Yukirin’s clothing to wipe my dirty
hands, taking the things in her make-up pouch, not returning her manga
after borrowing them… I’m really sorry to be so spoilt. But, because it’s
Yukirin, that’s why I am able to be the true me.

When we go to the supermarket together, she’ll always buy the food that I
like, it makes me happy. When I talk about things that Yukirin has
absolutely no interest in, she would still respond warmly, “Yes, yes” this
makes me happy too. In this year’s sousenkyo, she said “I want Mayu to be
number2, that’s why I’m really happy”, to be happy about me, makes me
really happy.

I remember during the new Team B lessons, because I had other jobs to do,
I didn’t have time to memorise the dance moves, when I was feeling down
and upset, she comforted me. She said to the crying me “Mayuyu is great, I
can’t compare to Mayuyu” this sort of sentence. Because of this sentence, it
gave me greater motivation to work harder.

After that, when new Team B debut stage ended, everyone had many areas
that they didn’t do well in. Yukirin who was the captain said “It’s all my
fault” while crying at the backstage. But I didn’t know what to say then, and
could only stay by your side silently.

Once in a while, I would think, what can I do for Yukirin? Even though I
want to become Yukirin’s support, but it seems that I can’t do anything. Do
I really have the right to be by Yukirin’s side? This sort of uneasy moment.

That’s why, I will work hard too because I don’t want to lose to Yukirin.

Even though this request might be a little overboard, but please continue to
be my kind and reliable mother, from today onwards.

From Mayuyu

The Akicha part, starting at 11:37

Aki:
本当はいつも自分の意見を心に閉じ込めて
Hontōwa itsumo jibun no iken o kokoro ni tojikomete
She really keeps her own opinion to herself

自分の意見より他人の意見を先に聞いている柏木を私は知ってます
Jibun no iken yori tanin no iken o saki ni kiite iru Kashiwagi o watashi wa shittemasu
Kashiwagi, I know you are listening to other's opinions ahead of your own

いつもありがとう
Itsumo arigatou
As always, thank you

でもたまには私達(後輩)にたまには私達にもわがまま言ってください
Demo tamani wa watashitachi (kōhai) ni (here is the spot where she pauses because the emotions are welling up)
tamani wa watashitachi ni mo wagamama itte kudasai
But please, for us (your juniors) {starts to cry}
For us, please tell us when we are being selfish.....

Yuki is overwhelmed by Aki's heartfelt speech and then  someone says "Sakata san?" (Bad Boys host Masaki Sata)

[Camera on Kiyoto Omizo- caption says 総長が涙? /  Sōchō ga namida? / The President has tears?

Omizo:
めっちゃウルウルしてる
Meccha uru uru shiteru
I really have a teary eyed feeling (uru uru is the feeling right before the tears start to flow)

Sata:
花粉症なんすよ
Kafunshō nan su yo
You have flower pollen allergy (hay fever)

Omizo:
おもない!
Not heavy!

Yuki:
やっぱり周りの意見を聞こうとか優先したいなって
Yappari mawari no iken o kikou toka yūsen shitai natte
Well, I still prefer to listen to the opions around me

誰にも言ったことがなかった
Dare nimo itta koto ga natta
No one had ever told me this I had never really told this to anyone

後輩の高城がそう思ってくれてるのを今本当に初めて知ったので
すごいびっくりしましたありがとう
Kōhai no Takajyo ga sō omotte kureteru no o ima hontōni hajimete shitta node Sugoi bikkuri shimashita arigatō
So now for the first time I really know what my junior, Takajyo is thinking- Wow! I was really surprised! Thank you!

120919: Fav song ranking! Great member line-up in this episode  :thumbup

I appreciate that they want to shine some light on the lesser known AKB48 songs, but the selection was a bit strange imo. I didn't expect these songs, especially this top tree. Did they only ask team B members?

For the second part of the show, I lolled so hard when Itano came out on that horse. Genius. Shiichan just let it roll like a bike haha.

Yui

lol, Itano taking the inside corner cost her too much speed to get up the ramp and she cut of Sae in the process.

Red flag = OK?! That's new.

Awyeah DiVa cream blasting game next week!

For a second I thought Yuki had to wear her nun/sisters outfit she wore in her 2009 Iromoeah episode again, but it turned SHE'S A WITCH. I wish that race segment would be less rushed so we'd get some more footage of their cosplay.

These 'oshi song' segments aren't that interesting to people who already know their songs, but I guess it's interesting to newer fans.

Next week looks great again! Senpai ranking with a new member line-up  :thumbup
