I hope the list is just rumours.

I also hope that it's a more energetic song like 10nen Zakura or Give Me Five rather than one of the ballads. I generally like AKB ballads but they seem out of place as a lead single song and I feel the Sakura ballads have been decreasing in quality in each year whereas 10nen Zakura and Give Me Five are two of my favourite AKB48 singles.

What's going on?

The first rumour was some SKE related thing.  but it wasnt.
Next rumour was that they re-record the 35th single, for Oshima. (but in Hawaii??)

BUT
 new rumours said, that they maybe recording the "summer single", which at first read was not so unreal.
However, they said the HKT members are not included. (They have stages, and concert at the weekend)

So now I am pretty confused.

Yeah, and it was a full member Team H stage today, so definitely can't be an A-side recording, as Sasshi would be included in that...

Handshake sales have already started. Round 1 ends tomorrow (15th Jan) at 1300 JST
Round 2 will then start tomorrow (15th Jan) at 1800 JST.

I'm actually really amazed by how much I love the a-side! Definitely my favorite AKB a-side in a loooong time and first one in a long time that I actually really loved on first listen~ I love how Yuko the whole a-side is and I also really adore how they gave her a super fun graduation song for her send-off rather than a funeral-like ballad for once. Not to mention I'm extremely pleased with the UG lineups!!!! Especially the KONJO lineup omfg, it's so great to see all of my top 3 in one song and I hope that the song rocks. ;___;

Obvious similarities for sure, but in AKB48's defense it's such a standard chord progression... Typical campfire / drinking song  XD

35th single non-theatre editions are also doing much poorer than previous singles in pre-order charts. At this rate, it won't simply be just unable to reach 1 million first week, but most likely unable to reach 1 million in its lifetime sales as well if nothing else is done, hence ending the million streak.

^ Wow, and it's in Osaka. AKB Theatre Ed handshake events are always in or near Tokyo. Drawing in NMB fans and people who live in Osaka I guess. Also the 4th May date is a lot sooner than the other events for this single, which is one date in July and three in September.

The jacket covers for AKB48's 35th single "Maeshika Mukanee" (set for release on February 26), in which Oshima Yuko takes the center position, have been unveiled!




In order to take the photos filled with a lot of lively movement, the members used a rope, and challenged themselves to various acrobatic poses. Oshima came up with the idea for her pose, and showed off her excellent reflexes, while SKE48's Suda Akari who is known as "flexible queen" lived up to her name by leaning backwards like a shrimp.



The title lettering on the covers was done by a famous calligrapher Takeda Souun, and creator Hirano Tetsuo was in charge of its art direction. The photos were taken by Takenaka Keiju.

I mean, Atsuko left on her peak and really, the group was really strong... now it kinda is going downhill..unless this shuffle proves us wrong and the group thrives again... I mean, look, they even are accepting babas into the group now... I am just saying...Yuko leaving this group now, at these hard times, is a huge blow... (not that I do not support her decision, she is my Kami oshi and I think she is one of the best actresses in the whole Japan). That might be just my two cents though...

Yes, AKB48 has been going downhill. I think we all feel that in some way or other.
It's inherent to the structure of an idol group. Old gens make the group great and the newer gens can never fill that legacy in a shorter time-frame.
On the plus side, this structure also mean no single girl can bring down AKB48. Not Acchan, not Yuko, not Miki.

This single is their 15th consecutive million seller. What are we even talking about.
The sales are still good, the girls are still cute and entertaining, they still release tons of merch we want, plenty of fun TV shows...
