This thread is a replacement for the old "bashing/hating thread". The mod staff received several complaints about the old thread, so let's try this again with a few guidelines.
+ NO physical/personal threats towards the girls in H!P
Example: it's completely unnecessary and un-classy to say something like I want to smash _____'s face in or she should die.
You can complain, but there's no reason to say something violent. It crosses the line.
+ Use this thread for venting, leaving your anger, dumping your criticism etc. DO NOT use it for starting arguments or picking up a fight.
If you can't handle reading bad stuff about your favourite members, you're recommended to avoid this thread.
I've heard that some people used the bashing thread to get back at someone who bashed their faves by bashing their faves, and it became sort of personal. Let's try not to have something like that here. If you know someone's post is going to piss you off, ignore it. Scrolling down fast isn't that difficult, seriously!
One more thing. Hating and insulting the H!P girls is by no means encouraged at this forum; this thread is simply here so that when you sometimes feel bummed about something, there's a place where you can complain about it. This is NOT meant for daily bashing needs. I think I speak for 90% of the members when I say I feel good when I don't see this thread on the first page.

Miki needs to lose the pissed look she constantly has. I've noticed Ohtani Masae has this problem too. Rika could definitely do away with the constantly giggly cute act. Nacchi has become so sugary sweet that it's become repetitive. Aika's just ugly. Same for Inaba.

Iida Kaori, grow you hair and stop trying to be so regal all the time. I don't understand why when H!P girls reach 20+ they decide they have to start acting around 40. Becoming an adult doesn't mean you have to cut your hair and start acting all regal. I think in your 20's you should start upping the sex appeal as opposed to your teens.
Also, I'm sick of GAM for two reasons. Firstly, why has all their material so far been so forgettable (yes, I know, it's my opinion)? Secondly, there was no need to take Ayaya's solo career away for GAM. Sure, her sales were dropping, but look at someone like Gocchin.
SOME BOYS! and Glass no Pumps were both pretty high sellers for a H!P soloist lately, and then we get SECRET, your typical low-selling ballad. Ayaya's last few singles have sold really badly, but the thing is, they're your typical low-selling ballads (not counting Ki ga Tsukeba Anata). Here's an idea, give her a decent song as opposed to taking away her solo career all together, I doubt we'll see Maki getting put into a unit anytime soon, so why Ayaya?
BUT BESIDES THAT, YAY H!P! AND YAY FOR ME NO LONGER HATING NIIGAKI 8)

Ok heres one.
People need to stop moaning about Photobooks not being scanned. If they want to see it so badly why not buy the damn thing already. Don't give excusses about not being able to afford one, I know some of you are unfortunate to buy one but the rest of you are so dependent on the internet that you believe that it would magically scanned so you don't need to. Tough and deal with it, get a job or save money.

How is it that freaking Berryz and C!ute members are getting bikini photobooks? I frankly have no interest in these, or anyone who would buy this trash. At the same time, when is the last time any graduate besides Rika or Nacchi got their own? A new Kei Yasuda book would be great, as many folks seem to have discovered that, yes, they would hit that. Gee, folks, a photobook that you would nt fear might get you jailed for child porn :shakeit:

I dislike Sayumi. I wish she would at least try with her vocals instead of relying on her image, and even that doesn't look good. At all. I think that forgettable 10 year old C-ute girl looks better, and that's a sad thing.

From what i heard about Kago, u know, the "nude" thing... I'm just really disappointed in her right now, although this hadn't been confirmed yet, it's still in rumor phase. although this ain't the first time.
in the beginning, in Feb. 2006, aibon was caught smoking. this was before i was a fan. but afterwards after watching and knowing the MM/H!P members and their history, watching videos and whatnot i've begun to miss her. Afterwards, I think she should get a second chance and awaiting her return in H!P. the beginning of 2007 looked promising, but then she was caught smoking, AGAIN, plus with a boyfriend. okay though the boyfriend is shocking news, but i figured if she's happy, let her be, like miki right now... But after knowing about her boyfriend, i begin to feel down. and the smoking thing didn't help either. she not only smoked once, but twice, and i thought she learned her lesson.
Now this rumors about her nude thing is really disappointing. i've lost hope in her now. after they announce that she's leaving H!P, i still hope to see her again. Then the news about joining a local agency back home, brings a lil bit of hope. but now...

I think they produce the PVs that way so that they can sell different versions of the same video to fans who will buy anything. The videos could have more impact if they told some kind of story or if they were more aesthetic.

I'm pretty sure that Miki ain't the one who resigns to take responsibility for what she did, like Mari did. If she wants to take it, she should have resigned a week ago. But, when being in Momusu and having boyfriend cannot go with each other, she chose to leave. UFA might then want her to resign in a good way and had her says the same thing as Mari.

^totally agree!!, I watched a few episodes but then i realised i was only interested in the koharu aika chinese bit.
They're now the only strong personalities, the others just start to seem so much like each other on this show...on H!M they all seemed....better...T___T

I completely agree with you on the Reina thing, but Tsunku didn't write the Mai/Koha single. Both songs are written by Tsuji Yumiko. So far Tsunku has not written any of the Kirarin Revolution songs. My guess is that given the singers, there was not much the songwriter could do

I wish UFA would make MM subgroups again. Random units are fine, but subgroups would make my day. Revive Mini Moni, Tanpopo and Pucchi Moni with current MM members, such as:
Tanpopo:
Eri, Risa, Junjun
Mini Moni:
Aichan, Koharu, Sayumi
Pucchi Moni:
Reina, Aika, Linlin
And also bring back Sakura/Otome gumi with the current line-up:

I don't like that there are 4 versions for most MM singles. Plus, the content of the 'bonus dvd' in the limited edition is way to less. It's a dvd, so it could easily contain the original pv too. In fact, I think the entire single V content should be on the bonus dvd.

^ I would say just download the bonus ISO at H!O or something and burn it, and then buy the regular single so you don't waste your money.

There are certain members in H!P that I think have been WAY overrated and over-hyped for years now.
They keep getting pushed to the spotlight but I don't see why, they don't really have 'stage presence' and aren't that great in singing to begin with.

I choose personality over looks all the time, a certain idol can be the prettiest/cutest/most gorgeous in the world, but if she lacks personality or is just not interesting, I can't like her that much. These days, it seems H!P is just pushing forward 'looks'. Well, more so than usual.

I need to rant haha.. Why I'm losing interest in H!P, group by group:
1. Current Morning Musume. They are are still my main reason why I still check out h!p, but it's getting less interesting. ONSA was kinda generic and Mikan was decent but not too great either..
2. Melon Kinenbi. They have potential for sure, but it rarely comes out fully. They also have too little appearences on tv and stuff..
^Those are the good groups, now the problems:
3. Too many kids groups. I really don't care for them. The latest BK and Cute single were actually pretty good, so maybe there's hope..
4. V-u-den. Tsunku needs to get of hiss ass and starts working on decent new material. Viyuden appeared as guests on the 2007 Musume tour because they don't have enough new material for a tour on their own. And Morning Musume needed to compensate for the loss of Yossi and Miki.
Their popularity is dropping because of crappy songs like jaja ume. A sexy cover isn't enough. Just look at the sales figures.. lower and lower.. Tsunku is probably ignoring them because Rika is in OG.
5. Athena & Robikerottsu. Nice for the Gaki fans, but their too childish for my tastes. Not only that, but the cute members seemed so uninterested in the pv..
6. Ongaku Gatas. This is actually a pretty nice group, but they haven't released a single song I liked so far. This is very personal, so I don't have anything bad to say about the group itself.
So.. what needs to happen?
-More Morning Musume members. i think that will spice things up a bit.. go back to the 15-nin Musume. Preferably some older girls again like JunJun.
-New decent Viyuden material! If BK and Cute can get decent songs, so could Viyuden.
-More Melon Kinenbi promotion, don't let them die.

^Yeah, MKB is probably the most talented group in the whole H!P but they barely get promotion or tv appearences. Those girls need more promotion! It would be sad if they die on the shadows.
I'm also losing my interest in H!P, they're not appealing to me anymore. BK is the only real reason why I'm still in the H!P fandom. °C-ute is just there for me, MM girls are not enough for me anymore. Tsunku please, give me some reasons to stay in the MM fandom next year, please.

Well...I'm a little tried of H!P doing Love Machine all the time, I know that's there market of a new beginning and there best selling single but it's starting to get really really annoying. Plus I think Yurina and Miyabi should get more line in BK. Even though Miyabi is a lead. Also, I want 8th gen to have a PB it's taking too long for them to announce it.

In the TNX realm, PLEASE let the Canaria Club get some better PVs. The PV for "FAITH!" was just atrocious. Seishun Banzai's was amazing, though, so I don't understand what happened to make the plain white set (er, well, gray, with that awful lighting!) rear its ugly head again. Those girls deserve much better than that.

Am I the only one who thinks these collection PBs are kinda stupid?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what i understand it's a book with around 150 pages with the 'best' photos from older PBs and some new pics? That's not what I'd call "complete works". And who's going to decide what the best shots are? That's really personal imo.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what i understand it's a book with around 150 pages with the 'best' photos from older PBs and some new pics?
No, these collections contain unused shots from those photoshoots. The making-of dvd also includes unreleased footage. And in some cases, like Takahashi's, they include extra shots from a new photoshoot.

Let Junjun and Linlin sing in the concerts! I know they get their own little "shuffles" or whatever... but they are part of a GROUP. Geez. In the Bonkyu concert, they were almost like Momusu's personal eggs.

She's cute and adorable, i admit that. but her "look at me" and "in ur face" attitude is really getting annoying. She wasn't like that back in the day when she first started. Maybe the popularity is getting to her head. She also doesn't seem to respect her sempais much these days, at least imo. probably there is no strong figures and personalities, like Yossy and Mikitty, to keep her in check or that she looks up to.

She wasn't 'like that' before because she was still awkward and shy, she was still trying to fit into the group, I think it's quite hard to be so confident when you're trying to do that XD She was only 12-13 years old too. And her 'in your face/look at me' attitude is her character on camera. Even the other girls don't act the same when the spotlight isn't on them, they all have their own camera persona.
And if anyone's seen her with her sempais like Gaki and Takahashi, you can see she's clearly respectful with them. Of course she jokes around, she realizes they're human, and doesn't worship the very ground they walk on for example, but she knows they should be treated with respect. And I'm actually wondering, when has she ever said she's 'better' in some way compared to others? I've heard other members like Sayu or Gaki say they're better at something than other people, but I never recalled Koharu saying a similar statement. Heck, she's never even said she's cuter than anyone XD

When she joined the group, she was kinda insecure, but a hard working girl. Then, after the Kirarin success, sometime in 2007 something in her head clicked -- maybe she realized she got popular, and Koharu, who started out claiming she liked 'cool' idols like Yossi and Miki, became a fake, cam-whoring loudmouth with a giant ego.
I used to like Koharu, she seemed like she was trying her best and KiraRevo was a great opportunity to improve herself as an idol, not to become THIS.

I agree with the Koharu ruins PVs part. In Resonant Blue, Ai and Reina look all intense and then you see Koharu in the middle smiling like an idiot. Same with Risa in that PV.

I liked her voice in LALALA. It was more calm sounding so I think she sounded better.
There really isn't a Hello! Project member that I hate. I'm not too fond of Koharu and Junjun, though I'm not entirely sure why, so I'm trying my best to like them. XD
I used to dislike Momoko, Miyabi, and Risako simply because they got the leads. :lol: Eventually I got over that and Momoko became one of my favorite Berryz members. But then she went down to my least favorite Berryz member quite quickly (I don't dislike her, though.). Miyabi went up a lot and even surpassed my old favorite Berryz member, Yurina (Maasa surpassed her, too, actually) and Risako went up quite a bit as well.

Its very plain, there is no denying that... There are a few bad angles from the previews that make me go "EH!?! Why would you use that" But coz Ai is so naturally stunning, she still pulls it off... I don't think anyone else could have.
I'm hoping the actual PB has some more 'artsy' pics like her PBs usually have. But I totally get what you mean!

I'm really looking forward to the Cinderella musical, but I'm just going to die of boredom if Ai is the one dominating the stage. There is no other H!P member that I don't like at all. Everything from her sleep-attracting singing (and speaking) voice and looks to her persona (oh wait...there isn't one!) and endless face-touching makes me wish for her to graduate and give the spotlight to someone who has earned it. Yeah I can stand her for the time I can watch her while still awake, but that's about it. I don't hate her, I just don't like her and the fact (not her fault though) that she gets all the lines and everything. After Musicfighter I'd kind of like to see a single where only Sayu and Aika get to sing and Jun/Lin, Eri and Risa get to do some minimal parts and Ai can go 'uh, ah' and Reina can have short English line and Koharu short Japanese line. Not to get some sort of revenge on Ai, but to let Sayu show of all she wants for at least that once. Also, the PV would consist of Sayu and Aika doing awesome stuff and being pretty and everyone else fading to the background. Besides a Risa solo single or good song with fitting leads by Risa, this is my other dream.
I have actually learned to like all the one's I've disliked (Reina, Koharu, Momoko, Airi), but I think that it's always been the fact that they have been able to turn all that used to be bad about them to the things that made me like them (Reina's attitude, Koharu's sugarhigh...). I can't see how boringness translates into anything else than a help for disability to sleep.
And last but not least, where is the new single by Ongaku Gatas?! I need more OG right now!

Ok, not so much a piss and moan thing directed at H!P but still about them.
I'm doing an essay on how so called child exploitation in the media is set by society's standards (hopefully if I can find enough stuff anyway) and I was doing a really quick search on google and came across a couple of places saying how H!P makes them sick and completely disgusted because of Berryz and C-ute being so young, and the young eggs as well... I totally get people getting grossed out by bikini pics of Risako and the other youngens in PBs (despite being a Rii-chan fangirl, I won't look at her PBs yet) but they weren't even mentioning PBs at all, they were talking about how disgusting it is that the girls dance around in PVs in short skirts (and get drooled over by the old wotas but I see that as i different argument)...
I don't see how that should be such an issue, firstly they wear shorts under the short skirts like all the time and you can usually see the hem of the shorts anyway. Secondly, now that they are getting older they are going more down a sex appeal road to sell, but when the girls were younger and looked like little kids, I don't think they did at all, the image they portrayed (or how I viewed it anyway) was more cutesy than sexy... And even in western cultures, if a young girl group was going to be marketed they would be wearing either short skirts, tight jeans or mid-drifty type tops... Why? Not coz it's seen as sexy but coz it's seen as cool and "worthy" of being in the public eye... Doesn't mean it's right, doesn't mean it's wrong! I've heard this 'argument' from a friend of a friend of mine before as well: "I can't be a fan of a company that has 12yr old girl's shaking their butts in mini skirts".
I see H!P as more than just some company that likes to exploit the 'sexiness' of young girls to make money, which doesn't mean I agree with everything they do, but it pisses me off that people who claim to know so much about the Jpop world, are willing to shun H!P so quickly based on their limited knowledge of BK & C-ute! :angry:

It's quite concerning, I know a bit about anorexia and it's one of the worst ways to live, most of it is most likely due to the pressures of the music industry but still, it's scary.

Normally I'd bring up the standpoint that she's just naturally skinny, but seeing as how skinny she's actually getting and her expressing her desire to lose even MORE weight scares me and makes me agree.

Yeah, on her radio show and in some interviews, Reina keeps saying that she wants to lose weight, and I'm just like, what the heck is wrong with her? She's probably one of the skinniest and shortest people in H!P. It's not attractive at all. She is pretty, but I do agree about her legs and arms looking like twigs and sometimes her head looks too big for her body...

I knew I wasn't the only one worrying about her. :D I think she's already too skinny and losing even more weight cannot be good for her health. In her GIRL PB, the shots in the white and pink flowered bikini are kinda scary. Her elbow juts out a strange angle.... :( I really hope she isn't anorexic or anything because that would freakin break my heart. I wonder if management notices anything...or are they the ones encouraging her to lose more weight? :( I hope she realizes how beautiful she is without having to be this skinny. We went through the same sort of thing with Yossy (although I don't think it was this extreme) and she ended up gaining weight and now she's absolutely stunning. :inlove:
So I hope Reina can figure out that the way she is acting is not very healthy or safe. :yep:

I'd be reluctant to say she actually has a full-blown serious case of anorexia considering the stamina she does have during long concerts etc and from what some other things I've noticed, but with her constant comments about her body and weight, it certainly seem like she has some form of BDD :(
As for management, I don't think they encourage it (maybe who knows) but I also doubt they would say/do anything about it unless she starts having problems performing or keeping up with the other girls... Japan just doesn't seem like the country to address mental illness head on like that... Besides, if there is something going on with her, feeling like she's being 'told' or 'excused' won't do much to help, she needs to be approached from a more caring/worried angle... Leader, it's up to you ;)
It could just be teen angst though... she certainly doesn't see what we see and has got some distorted reality in that sense, but yeah, she could just be being a teenager, and one in the public eye at that... Only time will tell (not that we'll ever actually know anyway :P )

Well it doesn't exactly help the fact that the entertainment business is known pressuring girls about their image and bodies and that hurts their perception of what see when they look in the mirror and from what i've seen Reina has a petite figure and it would be dangerous for her health to lose more weight and since she is only around 4'11 she probably already at the weight she is limited to go down to and being underweight can cause heart problems,loss of hair, a weak immune system, and stopping of the menstrual cycle. But the thing is we don't know whats going on with Reina and we can only speculate, so wether she is treading a thin line when it comes to her weight she should consult a doctor specificaly a nutritionist about weight loss and to see if its healthy to lose weight for her height and body type (and if you're wondering how i know so much about this i read medical text books as a hobbie and hopefully i'll be able to go to medical school someday after the military)

For all we know, she could be one of those people who can eat as much as they want and they don't gain an ounce. I've known a few people (some of them girls) like that, and yes, they were sometimes as skinny as Reina was. I was in a friend's cotillion in high school and her one cousin was like that, skinny/boney arms and all. Did she look like she wasn't eating? Yep. Were we concerned after she fainted during practice when she was in the middle of a twirl for our cha-cha number? Of course. But it turned out that I was just jumping the gun. Her cousin has a metabolism so fast, that she HAS to eat something at least once an hour so she doesn't get lightheaded. And man, I swear that girl could eat circles around me when it came to actual "meals".
As far as the whole Reina "wishing she was thinner" thing, seriously, it's a pretty common thing for young women to say or think about themselves, even if they're perfectly healthy. As a previous post pointed out, Reina's able to last through the pair of 2 hour concerts that MM/H!P performs per day on their tours. In the end, my point is that unless we hear reports of Reina constantly fainting or being hospitalized due to lack of strength or exhaustion (not unlike what happened to Maki before she left H!P), then in all likelihood we shouldn't be worrying so much and trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Yeah, if Reina was actually starving herself she probably wouldn't have been able to make it through those tours, not to mention the musical. I've seen a lot of people worry about Reina's weight for a while but it seemed to blow up after Reina said "中1に 戻りたぁーい(->∀<！！！ それか・・・お腹のくびれを ください。。。(恥；)" in a Pocket Morning Weekly Q&A. H!O translated this as "If it's just one thing, I want to go back to the first year of middle school (->∀<！！！That, or... getting thinner please... ( ashamed; )".
This is a wrong translation - it should have said "I want to go back to the first year of middle school(->∀<！！！ That, or...(I want) a flatter stomach please...(*embarrassed*)".
In short, Reina actually answered that she wants to lose weight from a specific area of her body, rather than her whole body. お腹のくびれ can also refer to an hourglass figure. (And I don't know where the doink H!O got the "If it's just one thing" part from...)
Even though some people were able to see that it was mistranslated, many more people didn't and so there were these "OMG Reina must have an eating disorder, and she must hate being in H!P because she entered H!P in her first year of middle school" comments, especially on H!O.
Reina has always been rather skinny, and is also pretty short. Like JFC said, I don't think that people should be so quick to say "Reina has an eating disorder" when we don't really know what is going on and when she appears to be doing fine otherwise.

My honest opinion she is naturally thin and from what I said before is from a medical standpoint wether she has a weight isssue or not(too much of the medical text book reading I suuppose). And shes been enterainment business for over 5 years she has probably seen what can happen to girl who have issues with weight and eating disorders, so she probably knows better then to think that way

You can only ride the success of Morning Musume from yesteryear for so long, so I'm glad to see them finally given the boot from Kohaku. Hopefully this will keep up and they can fall peacefully into obscurity, cause it's getting more and more painful with each single to see them try and recapture the magic only to fail miserably. :smhid

So, lots of PBs are coming out which is fun because I really like Photobooks.
One question. Where the hell is Mitsui Aika's photobook???????
She was chosen in 2006, and her first single came out in 2007. She's been in Morning Musume for over three years. She's been in three albums and 12 singles. It took Koharu three singles and less than a year for her to get a PB.
I'd love other 8th gen PBs, but really, Aika's is overdue.

I don't have any issues with members or the songs
but
I really wish H!P groups-- and I'm mainly talking about Morning musume, would have singles or albums-- I mean, AKB48 get loads of magazines and afew pvs with each single nowadays - and Korean groups release posters and boxsets of their albums, and re-releases
I wish Tsunku would catch on to this and make the single copies themselves more interesting- I don't buy singles often as when I get them I am dissapointed to find a cd and 2 group photos or a pull out cover with single lyric sheet... if there were more songs or more than one pv- I'd feel more driven to buy a copy-- or multiple copies!! And adding in some random photocards to singles or making special boxsets of albums would really push me to pay up
And I really hate how people complain about the cheapness of pvs...
then again- I'd rather there were a couple of them but cheaply made
seriously- just put them in some sponsored clothes brand and do some different versions-- we don't HAVE to have fancy elaborate outfits and big studio setups
That's why I like Seishun Collection- they just put them on a football field- we don't always need dramatic set ups~
