The only explanation for such an anticipated single is that they expect the BEST to put them on the spotlight again. I doubt it, but there you go. Mikan sound like an appealing tittle, cute sounding and easy to remember. Since I've reached the point where I care more about the music rather than the girls themselves (only Takahashi and Eri's voices say something to my taste) I hope they put Daichi in charge of the a-side (at last) so this can turn into a new Go Girl. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind a new Shabondama or AFOD. Time will tell.

i'm totally in for an Eri-lead single, i think she's way overdue for a lead single, given the fact that she never got one, exactly. she got a pretty cute voice too and i surely wouldn't mind hearing it all the time. i also would like to hear more of the other member voices too and not just Ai-chan, no offense to her, i like her and she's got a great voice. it's just there are 8 other people in the group, use them more for heaven's sake. i like to see more of them being active other than being just backup dancers and vocal.

This is the one thing I hate about getting news early; it means I havr to wait ages before I ever actually get to hear the song. Really looking forward to this one, I'm guessing we won't have a radio rip for at least a couple of weeks yet.

Ya I hate the waiting I really want to hear it!! I don't care who leads I just wanna hear!! I wonder why they aren't performing this song at their Fall Concert? I had a dream that I saw the PV for this song and they all were eating oranges and singing under a tree.They had on pink dresses with white head bands and the song sounded like aruiteru. I hope Bon kyu Bon kyu bomb is the c/w song I love that song!

I love the name Mikan and I hope they stick with it. Tsunku sometimes tries too hard picking cool sounding English names for songs but Mikan is so short, cute and orangey

Because the title is written in hiragana it can have several meanings:

蜜柑 = mandarin
未刊 = unpublished
未完 = incomplete; unfinished.

(all read the same "mikan")

I particularly like the last one. I like to believe it implies Morning Musume are here to stay for quite some time. They will not be stopping, they are unfinished.

Maybe I'm reading to much into it, but with Tsunku you never know.

I like the "we're not finished yet" interpretation better than the mandarin one (it makes more sense that way)

I'm sure by 'mandarin' he meant 'tanagerine', not the Mandarin language

And I'm guessing that's the intednded meaning.
