In Japan, whether it be the cherry blossom season, or the sounds of the cicada (semi) in summer, of the fall colors, beauty is to be appreciated because of it's fleeting quality- now you see it, now you don't. It must all be related to the Buddhist concept of the inpermanence of 'this' life (with apologies to those who know much more about these matters.
But yeah, one day the gokkies are the brand new 'kids on the block' and all of a sudden, the youngest, Risa, is the vet who will lead the group.
Evenutally we all go from being the newbie to the jaded vet. I think it was Mano chan who quoted Oscar Wilde in one the intros of Berrykyuu-
" The old believe everything; the middle aged suspect everything, and the young know everything."
So I look very forward to enjoying watching the 9th generation, but I certainly will also always enjoy the original Fab Five...........
