Pachinko AKB is a product name of Pachinko machine that features AKB members and their song performances.
Once an hour during your play with this machine, Team Surprise, the team created for this Pachinko machine perform completely original Stage setlist titled "Juryoku Sympathy".
Members of team Surprise are,
Team A: Kojima Haruna, Shinoda Mariko, Takajo Aki, Takahashi Minami, Maeda Atsuko
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Oshima Yuko, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae, Yokoyama Yui
Team 4: Shimazaki Haruka
Team S: Matsui Rena
Team H: Sashihara Rino
At the roll out event of this Pachinko Machine, 16 members of team Surprise except Sashihara Rino plus Kasai Tomomi (team B) performed on stage. In front of audience who are invited by lottery, press and people associated with Pachinko halls, they performed "Heavy Rotaion", "Flying Get" and "Manatsu no SG!". After they played with the Pachinko machine, they shared their impression on it. "It plays PV, too. It absolutely beautiful and makes me feel as if I was watching theater performance!", Oshima said. "It was so much fun! I think with this machine, we can enliven Japan.", Shinoda talked.

Setlist of "Juryoku Sympathy" consists of 12 songs, all brand-new songs, and will be unveiled one by one every week. This Stage includes original units just like real Stage setlists.
"I can only tell you about one unit. It consists of Yuko-chan, Acchan and me.", Kashiwagi Yuki revealed, making fans gathered up the venue surprised.
They also for the first time performed "Juryoku Sympathy" in public, the original song for Team Surprise. Center of this pop number is played by Maeda. The team heated up the venue with their dynamic move making the most of the depth of the stage.

A new Pachinko campaign with AKB was revealed today. This time, 16 18+ y/o Senbatsu Members formed an special team named "Team Surprise" that will have their very own special Original Stage that will be featured in the new Pachinko machines (No word about whether it will actually ever be performed anywhere for now). There are plans to release this stage on CD in the future.

Sasshi then basically stays in all teams and shows and whatnot despite her transfer? I was wondering whether they would revoke a lot of screen time from her but this does not seem to be the case.
At first it was odd to see Rena chosen from SKE without any Jurina closeby, but it makes sense when you consider her age and the fact that we're talking about a gambling company here :)
I like the line-up though and am looking forward to their songs now (while still holding the hope that Aki-P is also working on some new stage units).

In my opinion this is all at the wrong timing and 12 CDs is kinda crazy, thats 12k for the whole set... The album, Tokyo Dome, Acchan's graduation and the shuffle are all in the middle of this, as well as the usual singles releases from all the groups, and SKE's album too.
The first song was really good, and I hope the next 11 are, but I worry they are just going to disappear into nothingness. I understand that Pachinko is really big business and rakes the money in, and that this Pachinko machine is being advertised way more heavily than anything else AKB48 at the moment.

Yeah, the goal of this campaign is to get people playing the pachinko machines and not to sell zillions of the copies of the singles.
I think we're lucky enough if we'll be able to get rips of these songs. I assume they'll be around as hard to get as all the Natto Angels stuff.

It's sexy. All that leg action :thumbup To me the outfits are like a more modern, less crazy version of the "Kiss wa Dame yo" outfits.
It always strikes me how so many Sae fans seem to dislike Yukirin. It's uncanny. Try to think about how happy Sae is for getting to do this with one of her best friends! Shinoda is the one out of place imo, even though this way all three old new teams are represented.
As for the song... It's all right, I guess. Nothing too spectacular or ground breaking, but not bad either.

I'm loving all four Team Surprise songs so far. They've really brought the quality. "Sono mama de" is pure Tomochin goodness, I loop the DVD for "Suiyoubi no Alice" because its just perfect for a Payuyu (and co.) unit song, looking forward to their next one. And this 4th song seems good, really great outfits, and I love Sae-chan's hairstyle too.

Great trio, very idolesque song, what pushed me over was the song reminds me of something that Watarirouka Hashiritai would do.
Props to Paruru, she kept up nicely with two of the world's greatest idols, Mayuyu and Akicha.
And seems like we have been seeing more Akicha (that's how I like it) since she placed 17th in the last election.
You can take Akicha out of the Senbatsu, but you can't take the Senbatsu out of Akicha! :twothumbs

Yeah, the goal of this campaign is to get people playing the pachinko machines and not to sell zillions of the copies of the singles.

Suteki na Sankaku Kankei was the one I was looking forward to the most because of the member line-up and outfit, but the song isn't what I hoped it would be. I expected something wacky and upbeat, like a carnival-esque song or something. Aw well, at least Rena's part is much bigger in this than in Alice. I like the merry-go-round scene in the PV :thumbup
I hope they release a DVD with all the PVs on it eventually...

After twelve weeks of weekly releases it's over!
How do you guys feel about this 'project'? Were the songs up to the standard of AKB48's normal releases? B-side material or were there some epic songs in there? Nice chance to experiment? Which songs stood out? Good PVs or too low budget?
It sucks we couldn't buy them easily, because it would have been fun to collect the photos.
A cd + dvd + three photos for 1000 yen would have been marketing brilliance.

^ I've really enjoyed the Team Surprise songs. I've only listened to half of them but some are fantastic. Juuryoku Sympathy is a fantastic upbeat group song, as the TV performance of it really showed. Souyoubi no Alice is one of my favourites of the year . Tomochin's outfit in Sono Mama de is fantastic and has made her rise up my rankings.
There's also two unit songs featuring both Mayuyu and Paruru :wub:
The point about not being able to buy them easily is one of the main reasons I haven't checked out all the songs, I don't want to have to shell out so much for them and resellers tend to sell for around the asking price without the 3 photos.
I'm quite glad that the new teams are performing some of the songs in their stages, but its a shame its not the original line-ups. Like most b-sides and album tracks, most of these are songs destined to be rarely performed live, no matter how good they are.

Yeah, the goal of this campaign is to get people playing the pachinko machines and not to sell zillions of the copies of the singles.
I think we're lucky enough if we'll be able to get rips of these songs. I assume they'll be around as hard to get as all the Natto Angels stuff.
I'm insane and will likely be ordering them, don't worry.

M15 is probably my second fav Team Surprise song so far! (after M2)
