Well, I've been wanting to do some subbing. Maybe I'll actually get around to it if I'm part of a group, so I'm down.
If we don't have a bunch of projects already, I've always wanted to try doing Cyborg Shibata 3, or a little less ambitiously, Mano Spy!
-
Right on Slack! :twothumbs
I like both ideas...mmshibamano
-
I suppose I could join in for the Japanese translating. I have no life and I like this stuff. XD
Though my skillz still need work. ^^;
-
i like to, i have timed a PV before.
wish work didn't drain me too
-
^ oh we need people committed to the job, dude.
Awesome Essy
and you laid out some Chinese for us for the AX Gift Basket Project. We'll do my dream of subbing Bruce Lee shit one day! xD
-
^I always wanted to sub Chinese shows. Can we someday do Date With a Vampire so I can finally
make rokun watch it share it with the non-Chinese/Canto speaking crowd?
-
^ oh we need people committed to the job, dude.
I mean I could, I just wish depression hasn't hurt me

Simon Fuckin' Yam! YES!! I could totally help.
-
I've done some subbing before, but I don't know how to do fancy timed animated subtitles like in the example, but here's an example of what I've done before anyways XD I can do normal subs too without animations.
Super Junior - It's you (너라고) dancecover [with ENG SUB] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxWdxMHjsJk#)
-
Yo! This is awesome. Unfortunately I lose time due to work, but if you ever need help with subbing anything, I'll definitely do it. :D I can't translate for beans though.
I haven't really done anything fancy, honestly, I've only done one thing. XD Here it is, Fen translated it for me for my English project, and I had to put it on the video.

I was wondering if we'd ever start doing subbing as a group again. I could help translate; summer just kicked in and I still haven't found a job :nervous so I guess that makes me available for the meantime. Don't know if my Japanese is up to par, but I've done a few blog translations in the AKBar (Hey that rhymed!) with my most recent translation being this (http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?topic=20337.msg707966#msg707966)
-
fuck yeah jafeijai, I seen u doing work.
Yeah Saiks, pikapikapika - no need to be fancy. Just get the subbed shit that WE wanna see, cuz that's how we roll :jphip:
I like the feedback!!!
-
I might be able to help with something like editing -- I've done a little of that before. But it might have to be on a kind of irregular basis, since I'm kind of busy with a variety of other things. If I'm asked to help with something and have time and interest, I'd do it; if not, someone else would have to take care of it. If you don't mind something like that, I may be able to help.
-
lol
We are starting to sub again? XD
Well, I could help out now that things are settled down a bit. Gotta find those subbing programs again, but probably just editing/a little translating, as I got me a job to do. And well you know my work experience. :P
-
That's kind of you, Dronak :)
lol
You betcha Fen, back by popular demand XD
And yup, I've seen your work
-
I would like to help as well, I can do some basic encoding, timing and typesetting. I could also do some quality checking/editing if required. I should have a lot of spare time once my exams are over.
-
I do work as an editor ....so I could possibly do some quality checking.
-
sounds good chaz9891 & adventwriter!
we're gonna get the team assembled later this week, already talked to Slack & Ayabie on some projects.
-
I forgot to mention that I have no life, so I could probably devote a ton of time to this
-
I'm down, although army commitments keep me busy till near June.
After that I'm free and good to go, though. I have some encoding experience, and my Japanese is about good enough to translate teenager babblings on the Internet. Wouldn't mind doing timing either, although I profess I know little about that.
-
Sounds good mal. :D There's a few guides leftover from the last subcru y'all could look at, really helpful shit.
And yeah I know Pika...I see you on IRC until 10 pm my time :P
Looking Good Subcru!! :jphip: We'll keep in touch O0

Posted Vol. 2 of Mano Spy in insane HD.
Missions 5-8:
http://tracker.jphip.com/index.php?page=torrent-details&id=d16b0cc847ddfd411f24f1aa95966899ae47bc65 (http://tracker.jphip.com/index.php?page=torrent-details&id=d16b0cc847ddfd411f24f1aa95966899ae47bc65)
Some weird stuff with the episode numbering, cause the official site skips over #8 and labels #9 as #8 instead.
-
I would like to help in this project, but I think that only could do timing. I've done some videos (Example 1 (http://www.megavideo.com/v/XAVHYCN9d872ec6dbfbbe5004c43821dc25cbfdc), Example 2 (http://www.megavideo.com/v/KR1X6QZ34d427b1d33ab96696adbc7a2f868da86), Example 3 (http://www.megavideo.com/v/4TBWND81f22b049e129dc2e1fe16d71e8df8405d)), but I don't know about effects :(
If I can help, I would gladly do so. :)
-
Thanks MikiIV!! I'm sure our panel of experts can help you :)
btw.[jphip] Subs is officially back in bidness. :jphip:
please pimp http://jphip.com/fansubs.html as we are still looking for Korean translators lol
The Cru is already working on shit! can u feeeeeeeeel the excitement?
-
I'm still interested in working as an editor and quality person. I have a little technical experience with subbing - did some stuff for an SNSD forum.
-
Totally advent, the more the merrier.
All we need is people 100% focused on JPH!P (and I know you are) so sounds good to me!
-
I could give a hand, if my skills apply.
Japanese: sub-kindergarten, I wouldn't make a good translator, but I'm workign on it.
English: Native-speaker, can proof-read and edit
Virtualdub (video encoding program): Advanced
Adobe Premeire (Video editing program): Intermediate
Aegisub (Subtitling program): Novice
I'm not sure if you even use these programs, but it's what I know.
-
if the team needs any help i am experienced somewhat at timing, and mega experienced at qc and editing :D can even do some encoding as well. I use virtual dub and aegisub as my main programs. :]
-
Thanks for the interest cecelialorene & Scramasax. We have filled our positions atm but we'll keep you informed of any openings :D
STILL LOOKING FOR KOREAN TRANSLATORS!!
And more Japanese translators would be a bonus too. :thumbsup
-
^ Just like all my other job applications. :(
...
-
Lol I could join the team as a TRAINEE TRANSLATOR or something and translate short simple clips? hahahaha. No idea if that would be useful or not. I'd LOVE to help out, but I don't think my Japanese is up for it <,<; I'm at the intermediate-ish level and try to keep up with my studies (I've taken all the University classes available to me, so nothing more to be learnt there... self study all the way now T___T; )... joining a project like this would certainly help motivate me to learn more and be more vigilant with my studies xD;;;; (even though I don't have a teacher to go to for help T_T).
On the other hand, if you ever need a Norwegian/Swedish/Danish translator..... 8D
-
Straight up translators? I dig it, everyone starts somewhere!
Welcome twiss! :jphip:
-
OK FORREALZ NOW, I WANNA DO SOMETHING.
Been practicing doing some basic text translating with the Kikka emails, but I feel like I want to get the ball rolling again on some of the stuff I wanted to see.
Anyone else up for it? (after the PWO ends)
-
Actually yeah, I'd be game for working on things for JPH!P. Since the last post here, I've spent a fair bit of time studying Japanese, doing translations and the like. Obviously I can also source/encode/upload at a furious rate also, in addition to editing/QC. I'd throw myself into the river before timing, though :cokecat:
-
I have been thinking about becoming a translator someday and I'm still studying japanese, but I really have no experience what-so-ever. I've dabbled with timing before and I do have the patience for it.
-
yes plz, more translators plz xD
-
AWESOME!! Fo reals Amp Hart Slack u on board? I shed tears of manliness :jphip:
I too shall step my game up and work on some Chinese ssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhit
-
Since Hyakupa went down, I've had a renewed interest in trying to get some subs going again.
Maybe bumping this thread will spark some interest in others joining up!
-
I'm still interesting in subbing, it's just that I'm uncomfortable with my level at japanese. More so that I've taken 2 months off to rest after taking japanese classes non stop since last year.
