^ For you, it's okay :halo:

The latest still-shots from the upcoming Chinese movie "14 Blades" (trailer) show beautifully dressed Qiao Hua, played by Zhao Wei, waiting for her groom Qinglong, played by Donnie Yen.

"14 Blades" revolves around a Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) secret agent Qinglong who fights to expose a conspiracy. The description that goes alongside the new stills says Qiao Hua is already married to another man before the wedding. What's the story behind her and Qinglong? Find the answer when the film opens in cinemas on February 4.

The name "14 Blades" is inspired by the weapons Qinglong uses during his adventure. The film also stars Wu Chun, Qi Yuwu and Sammo Hung. It is directed by Daniel Lee.

Zhao Wei Announces New Film, Not 'Painted Skin 2'

New mother Zhao Wei said Tuesday (July 27) that she is unwilling to be a housewife, and is resuming her film work in two months.

"Working makes women more charming. I have some ideas about film and I don't want to waste them," the Chinese actress said at an event in Beijing where she was promoting a beverage brand.

Zhao declined to name her new film, but said it was not the "Painted Skin" sequel as previously reported.

The 2008 fantasy drama "Painted Skin", directed by Gordon Chan, earned Zhao a nomination for best actress at the 2009 Asian Film Awards.

"I don't want to repeat roles. I hope my new film will give audiences a refreshing feel," Zhao said.

At the event, Zhao was surrounded by enthusiastic reporters who were eager to learn more about her baby daughter, who was born in April. The actress refused to give away any information, saying she didn't like talking about her personal life.

Zhao disappeared from the limelight in late 2009 shortly after completing the martial-arts film "14 Blades". Paparazzi captured her expecting a baby in Singapore. She gave birth to a girl on April 11, allegedly fathered by businessman Huang Youlong.

Zhao, 34, rose to stardom by starring in the 1998 TV series "Princess Pearl". She has been seen more frequently on the big screen in recent years, acting in such films as "The Longest Night in Shanghai" (2007) and "Mulan" (2009). She is a three-time winner of the Favorite Actress award voted for by college students at the Beijing Student Film Festival.

Zhao Wei to Preview New Album under Full Moon
2010-09-20 17:26:37     CRIENGLISH.com       Web Editor: Xie Tingting

Fans will get an early listen to Zhao Wei's new album, set to be released next month, when she sings one of the new songs under the full moon on the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival this Wednesday, the actress-singer's agent says.

Chen Rong, Zhao's agent, told Qianlong.com that the star is among the performers for China Central Television's September 22 Mid-Autumn Festival Gala.

"She has picked a song from her new album for this special occasion, a very Chinese one," Chen was quoted as saying, but didn't mention the name of the song or the album.

The outdoor gala, expected to attract a national audience on the night of the full moon, will be staged in Wuhu of Anhui Province, Zhao's birthplace.

Guo Jihong, the show's director, told Qianlong.com, "Zhao's performance will be the biggest highlight. She will sing in front of a huge screen showing the neighborhood she used to live in."

Zhao began a singing career in 1999, following her extremely popular role in the TV drama "Princess Pearl" ("Huanzhu Gege"). Being an actress, she has starred in such films as "Red Cliff" ("Chi Bi"), "Mulan" ("Hua Mulan") and "14 Blades" ("Jin Yi Wei").

A video of Vicki's performance of "江城子" from the festival.
(江城子 is from her 我們都是大導演 album.  I guess they're also putting it on her new one?)

Can't wait for the new album! ^__^
