Secret Santa is a Western holiday tradition in which members of a group are randomly assigned other members to whom they anonymously give a gift. Often practiced in workplaces, or amongst large families, participation in it is usually voluntary. It offers a way for many people to give and receive a gift at low cost to those involved.

It's getting to be that time again! Much like the last Secret Santa, the idea is to deliver your drawee some delicious candy, preferrably something native to your country/area. If you're not into candy for some reason, let em know in your wishlist what would be more suitable for you. The general spending limit is $5, but do keep in mind shipping may very well raise the total to $10-15.

If that's too much to swing, or you hate candy, then sign up for the Secret Santa Penpal instead! The idea is to send a handmade Christmas card (or letter, if they don't celebrate xmas). No store bought Hallmark junk here!

Signup Deadline: December 10 - I will draw names at the end of the day, Elfster will in turn send you an email with information on the person you drew. Please only sign-up if you intend to participate, and withdraw if circumstances change.

Please, add your mailing address to Elfster. If they forgot to list mailing info or add in any wishes, you can attempt to ask them questions through Elfster, or (better) ask myself or another moderator to try and prod them for information.
Please, add your JPHiP username to Elfster. - Not everyone is pals on Facebook!
Please, only sign up if you intend to send something. - To this end, you must have 100 posts (or special permission) to take part.

Elfster (the site that is managing the exchange for us), has various privacy features. You address will only be shown to the person that draws you. If you are uncomfortable with certain people possibly having your information, PM me with a list of restrictions you would like for who can draw you, and I'll take care of it.

.... but keep in mind that Norway is very expensive, so I won't be able to ship much stuff with this spending limit :/ (we do have the best chocolate in the world, though)

EDIT: I get an Access Denied error when trying to view the Secret Santa sign-up on elfster <,<;;

Also, the spending limit is just a suggestion. If you want to fork out a bunch more, that's cool!
