Does anybody know a good software for Pinnacle PCTV usb Stick? I RMA'd the thing while ago since it crashed the computer when trying to search channels (tested on my friends computer and did the same thing). I think I'll get the new one in next week or so.

Which psu did you buy? 1000w psu isn't necessary for that kind of computer. Quality 750w or 850w unit like Silverstone ST85ZF can handle FX60&SLI 8800GTX with ease :)

Gumiho, 562e is the cheapest I could find (Inno 3D). Almost all of the 8800GTX cards are identical when looking cooling and pcb. Difference's are in package and bundle. 8800GTS is enough even for a hardcore gamer unless you own a large tft display (24-30") and want to play with the best image quality.

Those 500GB drives are too expensive for me.

i got my 500gb (WD5000KS) when it was on sale for $149 at NewEgg for black friday. $0.29/gb wasn't the cheapest, but i needed to get a single-drive for my enclosure, to hold me over while i'm in japan--without having to carry two of everything (if i were to have gotten 2x 250gb, for instance).

Why would you want a new one? Your current laptop has good cpu, more than enough ram, decent videocard and a quite large HD for a laptop.

its the form factor that really makes me want to get a new pc. this one's 15.4, which makes it a big notebook. i would really like a small pc with similar specs but atmost has a 14 inch screen.

I was going to get an asus a8jm the time i went to the computer shop to get a notebook. but the guy at the counter said that it wont be around until atleast 4 weeks. so i just picked the best outfitted pc for the price and found this one. it cost me around 1300cad for the whole thing (which is pretty good - c2d notebooks werent around last june). If my old pc was a bit better, i would have actually waited a few more weeks for a better pc, but my old one was slow as hell (1.8 p4 with 256mb).
oh man...

Yeah 512MB is not enough if you're playing games and have many programs open. 1GB is enough for Win XP but 2GB is recommended if you play new games that require lot's of ram and don't want to suffer from swapping. For Vista 2GB is recommended.
