I was watching the Idoling!!! in Odaiba Gasshuukoku DVD, and it reminded me of a question that I keep forgetting to ask... Does anyone know why Amimi was wearing a patch over her eye for a little while over the summer?

I don't know about Amimi in particular, but it seems to be the thing to do when someone has an eye infection in Japan.. I remember Momusu's Nacchi wearing one in the past :3

First encounter with Ami: When she first joined as the second generation. I've never really thought too much about her, except for her radio show 1ami9, until recently when she cut her hair short. :lol: She seems more charismatic now, and cuter for one thing.
My favorite thing(s) about Ami: She talks, a lot. Basically she says things the other members would never even mention, disregarding their age. :P
A memorable performance: Vanilla Bean's D&D with Yazawa Erika at Tokyo Idol Festival. (Couldn't find a Tube...)

First encounter with Ami: I never paid attention to her until after I watched her Angel Kiss dvd. For a long time Idoling to me was Rumi, Rurika, Tonooka, and Rumi :wub:. Once I became a bigger Idoling fan and more open minded to the group, I realized how great Ami is.
My favorite thing(s) about Ami: She is most known for being the "talkative" one, but that wouldn't necessarily be a good thing unless the stuff she says is interesting. Fortunately she's hilarious and insightful.
A memorable performance: The Idoling "band" performance at their 6th live. Pretty much whenever she gets to play piano.
Moment(s) that made me laugh: I only watch the episodes OF!!! subs, but I loved when she talked about her body going "bon bon bon". Not many girls would say that ... let alone on TV :lol:. Although it's weird since her body has always been pretty close to perfect, but it's cool that she can be self-deprecating.

First encounter with Ami: When they announced her as one of the second generation members... Had to do some research on her to post the news at Acchi Muite Pie!!!
My favorite thing(s) about Ami: Behind the mouthy and somewhat air-headed character she puts on, she is actually very crafty and knows how to stir up controversy. She's very comfortable speaking her mind, and she constantly says things that other idols wouldn't dare say. At first, she reminded me of my favorite H!P member, Asami Konno, but her personality is completely different, which really separated the two in my mind. If Amimi was really quiet and reserved, she would have always just been "that girl who reminds me of Konno."
A memorable performance: D&D at TIF2010 is my real pick for this, but just to add some variety, I'm gonna say La La La La no Song from the 8th Live... just because she was running through the crowd. How many idols do that? :twothumbs
Moment(s) that made me laugh: Natsu Yasuming 2010 Part 1 when she fell down for no apparent reason. (What the heck happened?) Episode #680 when she said that it was OK since she tried her best, not realizing that the dummy had "died" due to her failure. (How KY can you be?)

It's been edited to hell by whoever is in charge, which can be understandable because of the length of the original, but they also put words that I never wrote in the first place. :lol: Goes to show that FOD being unavailable to foreigners isn't a well known topic to many.

Kikuchi has already released five DVDs, but this will be her very first photo book. Shot in Guam, “ami-ing” is said to be filled with eye candy, featuring photos of Kikuchi in swimsuits and wedding dresses.
To commemorate the release of her photo book, Kikuchi will be holding a release event on February 11th. Further details will be announced through LesPros Entertainment’s official website.
Kikuchi commented, “My first photo book is finally finished!!! I can’t put it into words!!! My favorite photos are the ones of me in a wedding dress. I’ve always dreamed about wearing a wedding dress for my photo book.”
She continued, “Also, the swimsuit that is made of flowers! I also suggested this myself. This photo book is very promising, and I’m very satisfied with it. I hope many people will look at it…”

Relevant to my interests, recently I've been checking out some YouTube clips from Kikuchi's DVDs and it awakened my visual (:drool:) awareness of her.
I'm the complete opposite, she's not my favorite member and I will never be fond of her talkative noisy nature, but I've always known about her exquisite figure. However, I'll never enjoy her looks in its unfiltered state knowing what her personality is like. It's like...watching a distant relative in a skimpy outfit. Yuck.

First of all, I found it odd that Kikuchi was invited for that particular segment, I don't think she has even reached her peak yet, and she's not struggling to find work at all so it just seems like they almost want to see her fail or something even before anything like that is taking place. Maybe they chose Kikchi simply to get ratings but it still gives off a bad omen and not very flattering.
I usually agree with Ariyoshi's highly opinionated statements in this segment, but he totally got it wrong with Kikuchi because for one, Idoling is a VARIETY show, so all she's really doing is expanding her talents in the area that she's already showcasing to begin with, Ariyoshi should watch the show first before opening his big mouth accusing Kikuchi that she's doing variety only as a side-gig, which is totally false. If Idoling was a pure idol show, Kikuchi would never develop skills to be good at variety. There's no reason for Kikuchi to choose between being an idol and doing variety as Idoling is truly one in the same. Ariyoshi just sounded petty and not very well thought-out in this case.
Ariyoshi somewhat did mention that the statement was intended for all the idols who take variety lightly, but using Kikuchi as a scapegoat was just ridiculous and wrong. I also hate how he thinks AKB is untouchable and saying any other idol should shut up is rather vicious and really shows how biased he is knowing that he works with AKB a lot and has many AKB members in the same agency as his. The level of butt-kissing that is going on between these comedians and AKB is getting out of hand.

Ami has always impressed me on variety shows- she is quite young, yet she stands her ground with older, sly comedians, etc. She also has done some great interviews with other idol groups. Former Idoling!!! member Kikuchi Ami reveals that she's lost 7.5 kg

On December 2, Kikuchi Ami (24), who recently graduated from idol group Idoling!!!, updated her official blog revealing that she has lost 7.5 kg (16.5 lbs) through dieting. She also shared a picture of herself when she was at her heaviest weight.
Kikuchi revealed, "During summer, when I was at my max weight, I was 57 kg (125.4 lbs)." In order to improve her figure, she says she used various dieting methods such as drinking enzyme diet drinks. "I also exercised! I went to the gym, took half baths, and swam in the pool," she continued. She then happily reported, "I lost about 7.5 kg (16.5 lbs)!"
Kikuchi even uploaded a photo of herself in a bikini before her diet saying, "You're probably surprised, and I'm embarrassed, but I'm showing myself as I am."
Currently at 49.8 kg (109.56), Kikuchi stated, "My goal is a healthy 47 kg (103.4 lbs), so I will do my best!" Fans encouraged Kikuchi with comments such as, "Please do gravia too! I'm looking forward to it," and "Really impressive."
