I was watching the dance video versions of their videos and I noticed that Rio was very sloppy and thinking wtf is she doing.... and then I looked through the info in the cd-cover and noticed she was just 13 years old at the time of the recording!!!

In fact she turned 15 two days ago... my mind is blown, I thought they all were 19-20 years old.

Regardless of her age, she's gotten a lot of criticism for her lack of dancing ability. The gap in the difference between her and the other members is pretty big but, I guess a lot of fans forgive her because of her looks.

Rio totally lacks security or devotion. Not sure. I once was right in front of her during a show and the difference in dance skills was hilarious, especially when having Naosuke right beside her for comparison. Rio makes the right moves but with no power or recognizeable joy behind it. In DVDs it is not that easy to make out as the camera never focusses too long on a certain girl. I don't have the impression she improved with age.

But yes, it is strange that Rio is that much younger compared to her group mates. I also would have guessed them much older.

Rioton, yeah. She's a couple of years younger than the rest, can't dance very well, can't sing very well, and, according to the backstage parts of their first live DVD, is really nervous and lacks confidence. So she really stands out from the other members.

Having said all that, she is cute, and I think is well liked and I think brings a lot of character to the group. Without her they would overall be stronger performers, but something would be lacking. Her "uselessness" is kindof a charm point in a way?

As I said I kinda feel bad for dumping on her especially considering her age, and despite all my criticism I don't think she's dragging the group down overall.

However I'm not sure why the people that "created" Babyraids thought it was a good idea to put her in a group where the rest is 4-5 years older!

It's all about having the cute young sort of clumsy member that fans who like that sort of idol can cheer for. If everyone was really skilled, there wouldn't be much to distinguish them from other rock-type groups, especially the more mainstream ones.

Yea, now the video shows. But prior it was linking to a non-existened anyatatube.com. But now all text has a big letter next to a small one: babyraids is shown as bAabyraids. Is it just me? Did I catch a virus?

Just got the A-version of their CD since I liked the songs in the Budokan video and I think it's basically as good as the real cd, I think the songwriting this group has is very consistent

(I already had the B version).

^ Hmm, yeah, I've been thinking I should perhaps get some of the newer singles to check out the b-sides which aren't on the album - as a lot of great tracks are on the old b-sides.
