In surprising news, Howard Jones has been let go by Killswitch Engage

So not only does the new singer have to sing Jesse and Howard's material, he also has to live with fans comparing him to those two. Yeah...good luck with that! Naturally fans are begging for Jesse to come back and while I would be lying to say that doesn't sound great, I really think it's better that he doesn't. I love The Empire Shall Fall equally as much as KE now and I wouldn't want to see them disband as a result, as the rest of TESF are also very talented musicians.

Speaking of female fronted bands, I have to give a shout out to EarlyRise. Their debut album is fantastic. So much so that it's hard to pick a 'best' song cause they're all pretty strong. The vocalist has an incredible voice, the lyrics are thoughtful, the guitar licks are heavy. Yep, it's all I want. My new favourite band. Pretty impressive for a debut.

Trying to find other bands out there when I discovered The Letter Black. They're very....Christian rock?

Which I dunno, I can put the religion aside if the lyrics aren't obvious about it and the music's good. The songs I've heard thus far are ok, haven't really taken to them so strongly but I do like this song a lot.

Maybe I'm just shallow and will like most rock bands if they have a front woman with a decent voice and good looks

There are exceptions of course, where the front woman is all that and the music's great (Earlyrise) and on the flipside, where the front woman isn't all that and the music's bad (In This Moment)

Religious stuff aside, the thing that ruins that band for me are the male vocals.

Sticking with female fronted metal (and uninteresting male vocals), the new Lacuna Coil:

Not hating it, but not digging it that much either. A bit too soft.

Female fronted metal is so popular in South America. This Mexican band toured with Epica. They use all the basic elements, and it I think this song is pretty catchy:

I think their vocalist replaced Simone from Epica for one of Epica's tours in that region when she had some appendix troubles at the time.

Btw, anybody happen to have Infinite Dawn - The Enigma Of Reign? They're long gone, but their 4 songs were pretty good IIRC. lol

- I'm not a fan of this band, but I sorta dig this song. I love it when someone screams SIIIILLLEEENNCEE!

- What's up with the matching red clothes... doesn't look like a metal band. Especially that vocalist looks pretty neat. lol
