エヴァ芸人予告 新企画「関西縦断ブログ旅」スタート 桜 稲垣早希Last month, Saki-chan took up a challenge by a TV station in Kansai to travel from the Southern-most part of Kansai to the Northern-most part with extremely limited resources, a la "The Amazing Race". The program "Longitudinal Traverse of Kansai" (関西縦断）features Saki-chan in Asuka-cosplay travelling with a shoe-string budget. She has to blog about her travels everyday and the comments to her blog as well as a roll of a dice will decide how much she money gets. If she rolls one, she gets (number of comments x 0.1 yen), if she gets between two to five she gets (number of comments x 1 yen), if she hits a six she gets (number of comments x 10 yen).
With the show going on real-time, the cross-media interactive element and arrangement in Evangelion style, this is something every Eva otaku should not miss! During the initial days when the program had yet to air on TV, she received zero or single-digit comments, leading her to go starving for long hours. To draw the audience's sympathy, the TV staff brought her to a restaurant, ordered good food and ate in front of the poor starving girl. While the staff tortured her from time to time, strangers on the street who recognised her poured her with kindness, offering free food, sometimes even extravagant meals, free rides and a place to sleep.
As the episodes go by, the comments on her blog suddenly increased to three or four-digit figures, much to her surprise. However, she kept missing her chances by rolling a one on the dice for three times consecutively. With such bad luck, she decided to go to a temple to pray for luck and donated her last 2 yen.
