Regarding the Utaban appearance, IMO the perf was good. Talk segment however was gravely disappointing in the fact that they largely ignored the current members because they used this appearance to once again brought in the OG members to "reminisce about the the good old days."

I hate to say that I expected something like this once I found out that the OGs were also going to be on, but I did. The sad thing is just how much they focused on the OGs and how they largely ignored the current members. Out of a nearly 30 minute talk segment:
- close to 20-25 minutes was spent talking to and/or looking at old footage of the OG members, and
- around 2 and a half minutes were devoted for the actual performance,
Leaving something like, 3-6 minutes where they actually talked to the current members, none of which was used to actually talk about/promote the new single.
JunLin were able to get in a few good comedic moments here and there, but once again Utaban confirms and shows that it's stuck in the past. It's almost like the only reason the current members are getting on Utaban is because they're being used as a way to bring the OGs onto the show. For the most part, the OGs aren't actually releasing any singles or doing any other work that would have gotten them a new Utaban appearance, so how else could they be brought back for an appearance? Now don't get me wrong, I still love the OG members, but this is getting ridiculous. There's blatant and obvious favoritism from Taka-san & Nakai for the OGs, especially with the former stating that he finds the current members boring (wouldn't surprise me if the shows producers were the same way). However, when you take the fact that they've never really given the current members the chance to shine and that they've never really paid them the attention that they gave the OGs it's no wonder that the current members might seem dull in comparison. While they are responsible for making their own effort to be interesting, the onus can't be put solely on them. The hosts and producers of the shows need to do their part too. They're just as responsible for making good TV, as part of their job is to find ways to draw their guests out of their proverbial shells to get something interesting. While they did this with the OGs, it's obvious that Utaban is failing, nay, it's like they're choosing to not put forth that effort with the current lineup.

And so that I don't end off this post sounding like I'm completely pissed off, I loved the part where Linlin said that since Taka-san was all about the OGs, that Nakai should be responsible for talking to the current lineup. The fact that she again didn't say the honorific after his name (like how she did with Arita "the sleepy pineapple guy" when they were on Shakeburi 007 just before Xmas) too was nice.
