Pi writes some fantastic songs. It's not a lie and the whole world knows what I thought and still think of his singing but I don't doubt his compositions one bit. I think they're great. Yubiwa is definitely a favourite along with Love Song and Pain.

In the beginning of June 2006, Kusano Hironori with his lawyer university/college friends went to a beer place, during that time there was many girls in the same place, Kusano was happy, he sang many songs of KAT-TUN, many other artists' songs too, and took off his shirt.
Of course singing is not a problem, but maybe he drank lots, after he and his friends separated to go home, he was drunk and fell asleep in the streets, [something missing in translation here], luckily there was a convenience store worker nearby and called the ambulance and sent him to the nearest hospital. When he woke up, his anger was extremely violent, he really didn't change his bad habit.

「NEWS」は、大晦日深夜の「ジャニーズカウントダウン2006-2007」（東京ドーム）から活動を再開いたします。今後のスケジュールにつきましては、シングルリリースやコンサートツアー等を順次予定しておりますが、詳細は１月上旬に正式発表させて頂きます。
ファンのみなさまや関係各位には、長らくご迷惑をお掛けいたしましたが、「NEWS」に対し、今後とも変わらぬご声援を賜りますようお願い申し上げます。
なお、これまで芸能活動を自粛させて頂いておりました内博貴及び草野博紀につきましては、ファンのみなさまや関係各位に多大なるご迷惑をお掛けしたことについて十分に反省していると認められたため、弊社において両名と話し合いを重ねた結果、本人の初心に戻って一から出直したいという意向を尊重し、研修生として活動を再開させて頂くこととなりました。

Announcement of NEWS restarting their activities

NEWS, who has paused their activites as of May 1st of this year, will be resuming their activities with the following 6 members: Yamashita Tomohisa, Koyama Keiichiro, Nishikido Ryo, Kato Shigeaki, Masuda Takahisa and Tegoshi Yuya.
NEWS will be restarting their activities at the New Year's Eve's "Johnny's Countdown 2006-2007" (Tokyo Dome).
As for the schedule hereafter, we are planning things such as single releases and concert tours one after the other, but the details will be given in an official announcement in the beginning of January.
For a long time, we have caused much inconvenience to all the fans and those who were concerned, but as for NEWS, we hope that you will continue supporting them, without change.
In addition, concerning Uchi Hiroki and Kusano Hironori, who have refrained from public entertainment activites, upon acceptance of the full remorse they have shown for the great trouble that they have caused all the fans and those who were concerned, and the result after putting together the discussion our company had with both persons, respecting their wish that they would like to rediscover their feelings and start afresh with a clean slate, they will resume their activites as trainees.
As for those two's schedules hereafter, it will be determined after discussing it with those concerned.
Thank you for your understanding. We hope that you will welcome those two back with a lot of warm support.

There will be no public appearance but just practice after practice, lesson after lesson. This is the first time members from a popular group were taken down all the way to the "trainee" level. So this "new" NewS will be just the six of them. No Uchi, no Kusano.
With things as they are, NewS should have just continued as they were without the suspension of activities. There would have been no difference anyway.

Uchi and Kusano deserved to be punished, yes. But it was not necessary for them to be downgraded all the way to trainees. Kusano aside, Uchi has been suspended for more than a year. That's not punishment enough? That's not price enough to pay for his stupidity? If anything, Kusano should be the only one being downgraded. Why? Simply because even with what happened to Uchi, he didn't learn and still went and did the same stupid things.
Boys spend years if not months being trainees before they see light of day as Juniors. How long are these two going to take to climb the ranks again? And then what? Have them dance backup to NewS and Kanjyani when they get back to being a Junior?
I have mixed feelings about NewS' "return". On one hand, I'm happy that they are back. But when I looked at them during Countdown, I couldn't help but feel really REALLY sad. And of ALL the songs, they sang 'News Nippon' which made it even sadder for me.
When I first saw NewS in 2003, they were 9. I thought "Okay! New group of Yamap + 8! Why Yamap + 8? Coz the rest were in long pants while Yamap was showing off his skinny legs in shorts!" Okay. Nevermind that.
Less than a year later, Moriuchi drops out. So okay. NewS is now 8! Nice number!! Coz now it's not Yamap flanked by 4 on each side of him, it's 4-on-each-side NewS!! HAPPY!!
A year plus a bit later, Uchi gets drunk on underaged drinking, makes a fool of himself and gets suspended. As a Uchi fangirl, of course I'm upset BUT! He deserved it. Looking at NewS, hmm... We're kinda back to the 'Yamap with 3 on each side' formation, but it's still okay. Yay!! NewS!!
8/9 months and a bit later, what do we have? Kusano obviously does not learn from example and gets into the same crap that Uchi got himself into a couple of months earlier! And then? Kusano gets stuffed into cold storage too! -_-

Hi! Im sweet bunny as you see and im also a very big NewS fan.
Im also very happy for their comeback not only happy but also very excited.I just really miss their songs.I think they didnt deserve it that much because its not really that bad what they did because almost everyone in this world does it and just because they are stars theyre not allowed to do it and for me NewS is still not complete when 2 are missing but still i suport NewS.

As for why 6-member News was suspended, was because of two members of News getting suspended for drinking underaged within less than a year doesn't give exactly a nice image of News. They are a group and in a way, they all have to take responsibility of the group's actions.

finally they are back (without Uchi :/) but seeing Nishikido and YamaP together is like putting two JE stars together like a dream team
I will summarize what I've read on the newspaper articles:
- They still keep in touch with Uchi and Kusano by email and phone.
- The NewS members kept on going to the JE office to ask them to forgive Uchi and Kusano. Usually, JE just fires misbehaving kids but bringing them back to even a "trainee" status has never happened before.
- NewS members were asked what they thought of about the "retired" members, but they kept saying things like "they are our friends" and they "hope to someday be on the same stage with them again." Now, if you think about it, if JE has no plans bringing them back to their groups, they would have not allowed them to say these things.
- Ryo hasn't seen Uchi since the incident, but they've been calling. He recently called him to tell him to catch up with them soon and to go eat together on the night of his first day of work.
- NewS will have a new song coming out titled "Hoshi wo mezashite (=aiming for the stars)" and also have a tour coming up in the spring.

元ＮＥＷＳ・草野＆内が活動再開…今夏上演の少年隊主演舞台で
飲酒騒動を起こし研修生へと“降格”となった元ＮＥＷＳのメンバー、内博貴（２０）と草野博紀（１９）が、今夏上演の少年隊主演ミュージカル「ＰＬＡＹＺＯＮＥ２００７」で現場復帰することになった。ジャニーズ事務所が１６日、発表した。
内は一昨年夏、当時１８歳の時に仕事先の仙台市内で飲酒、暴れていたところを補導され、長期謹慎処分に。そんな中、昨年、当時１７歳の草野にも飲酒騒動が持ち上がり活動自粛となった。
同事務所によると、昨年１２月３１日に“降格処分”を発表後、２人とも自主トレを重ねるなど「生活態度も含め、十分に反省している」と彼らの真摯な姿勢を認め、復帰を決めた。
６月から舞台のけいこに入り研修生としてステージに立つ内と草野は連名で直筆コメントを寄せ、「今この思いを伝えようとしても表現できる言葉が見つかりません」（草野）、「過去の自分たちの姿以上の姿を見せられるように頑張ります」（内）と新たな一歩への決意を綴った。
公演は東京・青山劇場で７月９日～８月１４日。大阪公演は梅田芸術劇場で９月１～７日。

Right now, we can't describe how we are feeling. We have lost many things, including trust. Among these, the most important one, is the fans that has always been there supporting us. JE has given a statement on the circumstance of Uchi and Kusano's full return saying "There will be no return of the two to NEWS or Uchi to Kanjani8." However, there have been conjectures that the two will form a new group.

Okay so I heard from my friend (nyagcpinkuneko) who was at the NEWS concert today, that our little princess Uchi came out in the encore. Since I wasn't there myself I can't answer any questions but..
- He didn't sing, just a victory lap around the arena.
- He wore a NEWS towel around his neck.
- The members looked happy.
- Announced his drama. - Ryo announced the drama in the MC, before Uchi came out. *Dies from the Ryouchi XD*
- Uchi came out from backstage.
- He has long brown hair, looks healthy.
- Ryo said he'd be guest starring in Uchi's dorama SP. (Thanks to pinkulemon)
During the press conference for the recently announced Fuji TV drama "Isshun no Kaze ni Nare," it was revealed that Hiroki Uchi and Hironori Kusano have officially graduated from their "trainee" status within Johnny's Jimusho.
Both Uchi and Kusano were removed from their groups and demoted to trainees after being caught for underage drinking. They finally returned to action in last year's musical "PLAYZONE."
"Isshun no Kaze ni Nare" marks Uchi's graduation from being a trainee. Johnny's currently plans for him to go forward with a solo career. Meanwhile, Kusano is still attending Hosei University, but preparations are being made for his own full-fledged return. No definite plans have been announced yet.
At the press conference, it was also revealed that Saki Fukuda will co-star with Uchi in "Isshun no Kaze ni Nare," and Ryo Nishikido will make a guest appearance.

NEWS member Tomohisa Yamashita (25) will launch a solo tour starting in January, planned to consist of 27 concerts in 10 cities over the course of a few months. Although the majority of those will be in Japan, the tour will include 10 shows in 5 cities outside Japan, starting with Hong Kong.
Yamashita reportedly became interested in starting international activities after NEWS performed in Taiwan in 2007. Now he is finally getting his chance to perform on his own for overseas audiences. With Korean pop music currently enjoying a boom throughout Japan and other parts of Asia, Yamashita said that he hopes to show fans "what only Japan's Johnny's can do."
Yamashita will be just the third Johnny's Jimusho artist to do a solo tour outside Japan, after Masahiko Kondo and Jin Akanishi.
The tour is currently scheduled to start with two concerts in Hong Kong on January 29-30. Yamashita will take a break in February, presumably to promote the live-action "Ashita no Joe" movie which he stars in. He will then resume the tour in early March with some domestic concerts. Besides Hong Kong, his overseas shows will be held in Taiwan on March 26-27, Korea (Busan) on April 16-17, Thailand on April 23-24, and Korea (Seoul) at the end of April. A total of 236,000 fans are estimated to attend.
Before the tour starts, Yamashita plans to release his first solo album in January. Some songs will be entirely in English, and Yamashita is also writing lyrics for some other songs. He also revealed that it will likely be a mixture of club music and R&B.
