Nao was in a 2010 promotion film for the Japan Red Cross entitled: 'Hachigatsu no Nijuusou', which was used to
encourage people to donate blood.
The film is based on the true story of Miho Sugawara, who is the same age as Nao.
Miho, played by Nao in the film, lost her younger sister Miyuki to Leukemia in 2007. The film tells the story of the five years that the Sugawara family fought Miyuki's illness, and how Miho continued to raise awareness of the importance of blood donations.
Miho, who became a marrow donor during that fight, started a student Red Cross group in Iwate after her sister passed away, and
was present during the filming.
Nao has also stayed in involved and the picture below was from a September 26, 2012 event for the Red Cross in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture.

In the photo, Miss Suzuki, a student, hands her Haiku submission to Nao.
Great job to the students in Iwaki City and Nao, for taking part in an important cause!!
