The "Under" PV is out! What do you guys think?

The song: I like it! It's a bit repetitive, but good enough.
The PV: I liked some scenes, but the PV was a bit boring. The dance wasn't too impressive.

The PV gave me a 80's early 90's kind of feel, don't know, it's rather boring and that yellow thing she is wearing, but then again I'm happy she's wearing anything at all...

Just saw her doing "Anytime" on HEY!x3 (hikki's got it up already over at JPS...damn, that guy is quick!!), and it looks like she finally done it, and will lose the slutty image... She's been saying for ages, that she doesn't need to do the slutty image anymore... but we will see..

Popular Japanese songstress Kumi Koda has gotten into hot water by commenting on a radio program that she would like to have a child before she turns 35, “when women turn 35, their amniotic fluid goes rotten.” Koda committed the gaffe on the popular late night radio show “All Night Nippon,” when the host asked her if she was planning to have children.

Her remarks sparked an uproar among listeners prompting an apology by Koda, and her production company has canceled a number of her upcoming appearances apparently as punishment.

I can understand why people would be offended at this remark, especially the female audience (and especially women in their 30s or close to approaching their 30s). I'm not surprised that she'd get suspended for a month. Some people on certain forums were all "WAAH IT WAS JUST A JOKE WHY R AVEX SO ST00PID IF THIS HAPPNED IN TEH US SHE'D BE OK BUT JAPAN IS DOINKY". However, I feel that those sorts of "jokes" should be kept in private and not said in a public venue like a radio show. Honestly, if a celebrity here said something like that in the U.S., it would offend people too.

I remember reading that at a link to a blog(maybe fansite) I found at the H!P news section at JPM.  They said it was confirmed by, I think a mananger, or producer? I forgot, but I was asking cuz I havent seen info about it, and wondering if it was a rumor or something.

On Thursday, Kumi Koda appeared in an exclusive interview on Fuji TV's "FNN Super News" to apologize for a remark she made on "All Night Nippon" last week. She had stated that "when women turn 35, their amniotic fluid goes rotten," leading to many angry reactions from the public.

During Thursday's interview, she attempted to explain her comment and tearfully apologized for the harm she caused.

Not everyone was convinced, however. An informal poll taken after the broadcast through Sankei Sports' website indicated that 81% of the viewers felt the apology was insufficient, while only 9% said it was enough. Fuji TV later announced that by midnight on Thursday, it had received almost 300 phone calls about the broadcast. About a third of them carried heavy criticism, such as saying that Koda's apology felt insincere. Only 9 of the callers defended the singer.

According to Video Research Ltd., Koda's appearance did not boost ratings. Her apology drew ratings of 10.1%, the same as the average for the show's second half.

Wada: Koda wants to delay tour

Singer Kumi Koda has been turning to respected celebrity Akiko Wada for advice about the "rotten womb" scandal, it was learned on Saturday. Wada says that for the past few days, she has been talking to the pop star over the phone about the matter.

According to Wada, Koda has been reflecting deeply on the incident. Currently, she wants to postpone her upcoming tour (which is slated to start on April 12), as she feels that it would be too soon to resume her activities.

An Avex representative said that the company is hoping to persuade Koda to proceed with the tour as planned. With 16 concerts scheduled, even a postponement could cost Avex several hundred million yen.

It all seems like a mockery to me now.

^ The world charts don't mean shit!! Just because something ranks #1 (9 JPop artists hit #1 last year), doesn't mean they are even known outside Japan.



People are quick to blame the Japanese public for over-reacting, for the media for blowing it out of proportion, and all that, but seriously, if anyone knew this type of shit would happen like it has, it's a Japanese person.. Koda fuckin' should have know better, and now she's paying the price for it..

And remember when I said it looks like she is finally losing the slutty image, you can bet on it now!!
