I mostly listen to whatever J-Hiphop/J-rap that's in the mainstream since I don't know about the underground stuff, but I like what I'm hearing...
-Home Made Kazoku
-RIP Slyme
-Ketsumeishi
-SoulJa (well I only heard his duet with Aoyama, but I like his style)
-HALCALI
-Soul'd Out
-and I love "Grateful Days" by Dragon Ash and a couple of others...

Only really mainstream guy I really like is WISE. He's in Teriyaki Boyz. His single with Salyu was probably one of my favorite hip-hop tracks last year, but that has a lot to do with Salyu too. He has more of an American street style than most Japanese rappers, so that's probably why I like him.

Wow, a lot of folk mentioned the stuff I dig already, but I'm gonna make a list anyway.

  • m-flo - Old m-flo is Hip-Hop, new m-flo is pop.  Both are equally good.
  • Heartsdales - Their early stuff produced by VERBAL is hot.  Their self-produced stuff is touch & go yet still good.
  • SOUL'd Out - I don't have a clue what Diggy Mo' is saying most of the time, but I like their beats.
  • DJ Deckstream - That Deckstream Soundtracks still gets repeated plays on my iPod.
  • DJ Honda - Really like his production style
  • DJ Hasebe - Much like Honda, dig his production
  • Hime - Female rapper signed to DJ Honda's record label.  She has a similar flow to Eve during her early Ruff Ryders days.
  • ZEEBRA - His music reminds me of East Coast Hip-Hop, wicked stuff.
  • Dohzi-T - Dude is more like the softer side of Hip-Hop, more R&B crossover sounding, but his music is some sweet stuff.  He has some pretty good collabos on his 12 Love Stories Album
  • A.I. - Yeah, she's more R&B, but she's also been known to throw out a few good Hip-Hop tracks from time to time
  • KM-MARKIT - The guy has a unique voice & his collaborations with artists like VERBAL. Kumi Koda & Kato Miliayah are some good stuff
  • Mic Banditz - Kind of a pre-Teriyaki Boyz group, similar sound with less members
  • Suite Chic - More of a straight up production crew, but their songs are great.  Particularly any featuring Namie Amuro
  • DJ Kaori - I like her mixtapes, she's put out a few decent songs too

Uh.. Damn that was a long list.  I think that's about it until I can dig up the other Japanese Hip-Hop I've found over the years.
