Heh, she spoke formally enough for me to understand her

. As you could probably tell from the clip she mistakenly introduced herself as Morning Musume at first, which was as funny as it was sad

. From what I remember she that she had been thinking and worrying about her position as leader, and that she decided to take responsability for her actions. She said that she thought that some people were worried and bothered by her decision, but because she wants to continuing doing her best, she asked for their support. She then went on to talk about how grateful she was for what Utaban had done for her, and said that Taka-san was like a father to MM, which freaked him out

. But, she teased Nakai and said that since the begining there's been a distance between him and her, so she didn't have any memories of him

.

Overall she actually seemed like she was doing pretty well and in a good mood.

It's good that Yaguchi took a last jab at Nakai-kun. She's been doing it for a LONG time (e.g. his singing).

Interesting that she gave Utaban/TBS the on-camera scoop. I wonder if it was her decision or UFA?

i think the joke (about Nakai) and mistake ('MM desu') that she made seemed scripted but no matter what it's good that she showed up to expalin things out.

It was a pleasingly utaban approach to the matter. And if the mistake was scripted, it's just further evidence that mari should pursue an acting career!

Having seen the ep now, I agree that she came across pretty well.

Another interesting tidbit from an analogous situation, Ken Miyake (of V6) was apparently dating Namie Amuro, and refused to break it off when told to do so by his agency. No word of him getting offed for it yet though.

Just watched it.

First off, thanks for the translation.

The Morning Musume bit did seem a bit scripted, but she delivered the line really well.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Mari does next.

Sorry, bad choice of words. Probably should have said, "for the last time before she's forced to leave MM." Not much better, I know, but we all hope and pray for more pwnage as her solo career launches into the stratosphere!!!
