Director Andrew Lau, screenwriter Gordon Chan and Kung Fu star Donnie Yen have collaborated on action drama "Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen," which premiered globally at the 67th Venice International Film Festival on September 1.

The film score adapts the song "Carmen" from the opera of the same name, sung by leading actress Shu Qi. Released on September 6, it reveals the subtle relationship between the characters played by Donnie Yen, Shu Qi and Anthony Wong.

Stills of Shu Qi in the action drama "Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen" have been released.

Taiwan actress Shu Qi plays Shanghainese social butterfly Kiki, a renowned singer in the city's Casablanca Club. She is the pet of Anthony Wong's character, the owner of the club, and also attracts the attention of Donnie Yen's character, Chen Zhen.

In a series of ten photos, Shu models ten costumes she wears in the film, each of which is tailored especially for her. According to the costume designer Wu Lilu, the material itself cost around 50 thousand yuan. Three of the ten outfits are made of velvet.

"Shu Qi can convey both flirtatiousness and elegance, depending on what the situation calls for," the designer said.

The film is scheduled for release on September 21.

Actress Shu Qi poses in a series of photos shot in snow covered Europe. She was invited to shoot an ad in Geneva. She chose to travel from Paris to Geneva by train so that she could enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way.

The actress said that she has received invitations from some Hollywood directors, but she is not in a rush to go to Hollywood before she finds the right role.

Shu Qi stars in the first two installments of Feng Xiaogang's romance comedy "If You Are the One" series, which has had a strong box office performance.

Shu Qi's New Film to Open during Summer Season
    2011-03-14 16:20:02     CRIENGLISH.com       Web Editor: Tian Tian

Hong Kong director Wai Keung Lau's upcoming film "Mei Li Ren Sheng" ("Beautiful Life") is gearing up for a release during the summer movie season, website qq.com reports.

Actress Shu Qi from "If You are the One" plays opposite "He-Man" lead Liu Ye in the film.

Yu Dong, President of film distributor Bona Film Group, said on Sunday that the movie resembled the 1996 film "Tian Mi Mi" ("Almost A Love Story").

In "Mei Li Ren Sheng," Li Peiru (Shu Qi) drifts to Beijing from Hong Kong to make a living but ends up falling in love with Fang Zhendong (liu Ye), a local policeman. Shu Qi plays an opportunist who takes advantages of Liu Ye for financial gain.

Other actors in the cast include Anthony Wang, Tian Liang and Sa Ri Na.

The film will be released on May 20.

lol for a second there i thought she was playing Twins the pop duo

Playing Twins drains Shu Qi

The Gordon Chan Ka Seung produced, Carol Lai Miu Shuet directed suspense thriller CHING MAI (LOVE MYSTERY) due to its sensitive subject has been kept confidential without any promotion since its production began. Yesterday its release company finally revealed that the film has already passed the film bureau content inspection and would be prepared for a March 2012 nationwide release.

CHING MAI is about Shu Qi who played twin sisters Wai Heung and Wai Bo's relationships with the Shawn Yue Man Lok played stage actor Fong Yik Nan. The sisters turned against each other and wanted to end their relationship. The biggest challenge of CHING MAI was Shu Qi having to play two different characters. Although before the production she was mentally prepared, during the shoot the sister roles were repeatedly exchanged and Shu Qi became neurotic due to the excessive burden of adjustment, in order to interpret the sisters' detailed expressions and different personalities thoroughly. Over the almost three month long shoot, Shu Qi had to juggle and also drove herself mad, the crew was scared of her and dared not easily contact Shu Qi who usually would be very friendly. After the shoot, Shu Qi said that CHING MAI has exhausted her physically and mentally. She needed to rest for a long to be able to recover.

Due to the sensitive subject, daring sex scenes were definite. CHING MAI ran into numerous obstacles, from screenplay inspection it received several adjustment requests from the film bureau. The film challenged the moral bottom line under the temptation of love and lust. Chan Ka Seung lamented, "CHING MAI's story rose and fell, unusual human nature in this relationship appeared. Shu Qi with this film's breakthrough performance would hopefully win another Best Actress award."

Cast Members Promote Movie "LOVE" in Beijing

Vicki Zhao and Shu Qi reunite after 10 years

Actresses Vicki Zhao and Shu Qi were quick to pile praises on each other, after working together on their latest film Love.

Love is Vicki and Shu Qi's first project together since their collaboration in the movie So Close, 10 years ago.

The duo attended the gala premiere of Love in Beijing yesterday, together with director Doze Niu and other cast members like Mark Chao and Ivy Chen.

Since their last collaboration, both Vicki and have grown in many ways, with the former getting married and becoming a mother.

"We are all more matured after 10 years. She is also better than me now that she has become more caring," said Shu Qi of her co-star.

Expressing her disappointment on not sharing a scene with Vicki in the film, Shu Qi said, "I thought that I would be able to see her. But after waiting for so many days in Taipei, she never showed up."

Vicki plays a single mother in the movie Love, a far cry from reality where the actress enjoys a happy married life.

Perhaps anxious to share her joy, the actress also took the opportunity during the event to praise Shu Qi.

"If I were a man, I would marry a girl like her," she said.

When asked if Vicki knows Shu Qi's criteria for a partner, she laughingly replied, "I wouldn't know since I am not her but I am sure that the most important thing is sincerity."
