Title: Blank-Faced Woman Day 62 FIN
Post by: kuro808 on February 29, 2012, 11:02:36 AM
The stars rose
From the ground
Crying tears
Flowers grow

Addiction made me miss this
The rainbow turned black
I comforted myself with wants
The tainted water made me blind
The pills crushed my dreams
The final blow landed me here

The white room in the sky
But no angels
Only devils dragging me down
Just one more step
Resisting to budge
I land in bed

Sick as I am
I want my remedy
I will go far to get it
But my body doesn't want it
Yet I reach

The juice to restart my life
One sip
It feels better
And I sleep
Not knowing what tomorrow shall bring

I hope for it

Thanks for the support, I am slightly concerned with the first chapter reason for not posting any sooner.  Depression is one part of the whole story but I already clued in on the main pairing but I want to add many characters.  It may be quite disturbing but hang with it until the end, it will present a positive ending, I hope :nervous

I might as well go for it :nervous

Day 1

The first day is usually the toughest for a rehab patient.  For Takahashi Ai, it was facing the devil for the last time before escaping from his cage.  She was awakened by the sliver of light and a loud voice that scared her that she almost pee’d in her underwear.  The night was a carnival of images from her past and the men who she slept with for her drugs.

The voice came from her coach to set her straight while in rehab, she was unattractive, fat, and had arms that could choke Ai to death in an instant.  But, her voice made the woman lose ten years off her life.  Ai looked at her with sleep in her eyes and opened up her closet filled with clothes of her past.  She pulled a t-shirt over her tank top and slid a pair of shorts over her underwear.  Her butt cheeks hanged out which irritated the woman but knowing she was late, it was a free pass for the day.

Ai sleepwalked into the plain room where there were two chairs and a window ten feet from the ground.  She stared at the open window waiting for the therapist to enter the room.  Ai lifted her arm up and smelt like garbage that hadn’t been dumped in two weeks.  Minutes later, a young woman entered into the room with the least self-confidence and she observed her initial reaction which impressed the therapist.

“Hello, Ms. Takahashi.”  She greeted as Ai’s head slowly went up and glared at her.

“My name is Konno Asami and I will be your friend for the next eight weeks.”  Ai grinned and turned her attention to the open window.

As Asami was continuing her speech, Ai was in her own world thinking about what she would do at this moment.  Sleeping was the most obvious answer with an unknown person who probably was a bad lover.  The secreted liquids would be spread on a filthy bed casing, smelling like day old fish.  The man was probably a low life or a cheater who wanted a quick bang before coming back to reality.

She treated her body like a dumpster but it didn’t start off that way.  Ten years ago, she was accepted into a prestigious school with honors.  Ai was working her way up to the top until she met an American transfer by the name of Stacy Jackson.  Stacy was much bigger in physique than Ai but she hated how she acted in front of the teachers.  It was annoying that someone would thank their teacher for teaching them.

One day, Ai went to the library to pick up books for her research and had a corner table to start on it but instantly her mind turned groggy and her head hit the table.  A can of sleeping gas hit under her chair and she woke up in a basement with her uniform off and only thing left was her underwear.

Her hands were tied with rope and was hanging inches from the ground with Stacy standing in front of her with two other girls.  She had a pair of scissors with her cutting off the last pieces of clothing.  Their laughs haunted the feeble mind and she saw them tease her body with pencils and rulers.  The eraser was the worst culprit rubbing her sensitive spots until the first whack got her attention.

“Okay, Takahashi-san.  We have an offer for you.”  Ai’s head nodded without getting to the main point.

“You have to join our group because we need diversity but to gain our trust, you have to test some toys out.”  She laid out her selection in front of her and Ai whimpered at the thought.

“However, you cannot blackout during anytime and if you refuse to do this, we have a boy who would want you to have you as his first time.”  Ai saw him across the room with his hands tied to his back.

Ai agreed to their demands and started the torture of having everything tried on like an evil doctor doing experiments.  Stacy loved her toys and Ai had every one used in her.  The laugh lingered in her head as the pain was growing below and her cohorts were joining in alternating turns over the girl’s body.  She couldn’t tell how long it took but it seemed like an eternity to end.  Her last memory was the boy nervously staring at her as they toy with him until the pain finally took over her mind.

By the time she could regain her consciousness, the boy tied up helped her out of the building.  Her voice was rough, her body sore, and the boy couldn’t looked at her.  A classmate had taken her to the infirmary on campus and saw the clock ticking past 6:00.  Couple days later, she had learned the truth of what happened after she blacked out and cried about it leaving her away from the school for a short period.

She came back with the images still etched in her head.  The boy had been bullied by Stacy and her gang until he had gone insane.  He had one of her group members locked in a room continually raping her.  Stacy laughed at him for going insane but Ai knew she wouldn’t survive if it had continued.  The boy disappeared after the incident until he was allowed back to school.  She saw the boy grinning after the revelation and committed suicide that night after hearing about the pregnancy.

Ai was committed to take down Stacy and she had to design everything perfectly to drag her into the mud.  She used her savings to hire a private investigator to find out what she does and the secrets were juicy enough to eat with her teeth.  She needed to plan like setting an image with dominoes; time was on her side as she watched her from afar.  A week after the boy’s suicide, the events of the collapse had started.

First, there was blackmail to her father about his sexual encounters overseas, she had seen a few of videos with teenage Filipino girls brutally raped or sodomized in front of the camera.  Her stomach turned after half a minutes and she turned it off.  Ai was across the street watching her father running away from the police.  It entertained her that the police were stumbling fools to catch a big man.  Then, out of the corner a shot was fired and he fell down like a tree.

Second, her affair with a teacher was exposed to the headmaster, that video made her smile as she was faking every sound from her body.  Stacy sneaked into the classroom and started to get frisky and she broke in with a camera in her hand.  She chased her out of the room and into a hallway where the police were hiding out.  She turned back and saw him arrested in front of her.  Out of the corner of her eye, Ai winked at her as she escaped from the school grounds.

The final act was gaining control of her body.  She sprung a trap with sleeping gas in her locker and dragged her body to the basement.  She sat in the dark waiting for her to wake up with her breathing becoming harder every second in anticipation.

Ai wanted revenge on the foreigner, a Japan-sized revenge for what she has done to her but she saw her face and she knew that she had won over her.  She was on her knees with her hands tied up begging for forgiveness.  Ai spoke Japanese to her and her eyes widened as big as baseballs.

“Dirty woman shall die in hell.”

Ai delivered the first punch to the gut which got her folded over.  She lifted up her head and threw in elbow into the eye socket causing it to break instantly.  Her foot contacted with the jaw which was dislocated.  She cried with every attack until she left her with a man.  Ai watched as she became emotionless after everything but it was an ending to her experience.  Stacy was broken down into a million pieces and that all it mattered to her.

She returned home to find police sitting next to her parents.  Her heart sank that she wasn’t going home free.  Ai was arrested and sent to a juvenile facility for her crimes, it was a setback for her but once she heard that she confessed to her crimes, it was even between them.  She was happy that she admitted to her faults but it wasn’t going to change the verdict on her as six months’ probation.

Ai returned home with her parents becoming more aggressive towards each other.  It was constant annoyance with the bickering that she headed out on the town. They blamed the incidents on each other until divorce papers came in the last month of her probation.  She didn’t want them to live separately so she decided to drop out and make her own life to live.

Konno had gotten to the tail end of her speech when Ai decided to revert back to the present and smiled before she left to get some fresh air in the garden.  The itch to do drugs hit her as she looked at the flowers and she was going berserk about her stash was stolen and got violent toward one who was an innocent bystander.  She threw him into the pool of koi.  Ai stared at him as she smiled at him and then helped him out of the pool. They realized that she was in more out of control than expected so they left her in the special rooms for a bit as they accustomed her room to fit her condition.

Ai came out and calmly slept without eating dinner, the first day was a step forward but she knew that being an animal wouldn’t help her at all.  It body felt stiff but it was a reaction in terms of detoxing and she looked at the moon wondering if she could every change or the demons could control her again.  The end of the first day came with troubles but she survived the day.

Day 2

Ai woke to the same voice as the day before and stood up to her.  They were face to face for a few seconds before Ai turned to her closet to get a change of clothes so she could take a shower.  She arrived at the room noticing it was a community shower and seeing another person naked scared her.  She walked into the steam to find a wall in front of her and turned left into another patient.

“Oi!  Are you perverted?”  The woman asked as Ai stared straight at her.

“No, you are just too big to move around.”  Ai imitated the woman and she saw her face turn red.  Ai showed no fear towards her but was expecting a fist to come through the mist but heard whimpering instead.

She walked toward her and saw her face in her hands.  The woman was crying instead of retaliating at Ai, her face looked at Ai seeing the red in her eyes.  Ai saw her turn away and she continued with her shower.  Ai went into the stall farthest away from the entrance and stripped off her clothes to feel the warm water hitting her body.  She looked at what was given to her for washing and she wasn’t impressed with the selection but she needed to wash up.

There was no smell to the shampoo or the soap and no conditioner for her hair.  She took her time washing every inch of her body.  The voice entered into her head again of the woman and immediately rinsed off whatever she could before coming out with her bra and panties.  She went back into the room and put on a T-shirt and a matching knee skirt.

Ai walked into the room where Konno had a pitcher of water next to her.  She happily poured a glass for her and placed it in front of her.  Ai took a quick sip and looked up at the window again.  Her mind wandered away to think about her life again.

~~
After she moved out of her family’s homes, she managed to get an apartment in Tokyo’s red light district.  Ai lived next to a woman who had introduced her to the world of call girls.  She explained the income would be better if she worked there rather than getting a legal job but Ai decided to take on a legit job working as a secretary part-time in a game room.  It brought in enough to pay the rent but she had to steal for food and she finally got caught and was fired on the spot.

She had come home exhausted after explaining herself about the situation to no budging of her employment.  Ai was asked if she would take the offer despite her initial declination.  Ai had to agree thinking that it was just one night and walked around outside with her coat and purse placing up ads.  After a few minutes, she got hit up three times and took the first call on her list.  He was a heavy set man, about thirty to forty years old, and was patting himself with a small handkerchief.

“Hello.  I am your partner tonight.”  She greeted the man as they headed into the love hotel.

The man laid down a wad of money on the front desk asking for the platinum room on the top floor.  She gave a sly smile to him and escorted her up to the room.  Her eyes were concentrated on the wallet but it was so close to his overflowing bulge that she followed him into the room without any move.  Ai sat on the bed as he was fidgety in taking off his clothes.  She could sense that her parents were in the room closing their eyes but soon cleared it out when he was down to his underwear.

He was hesitant in his next move as Ai could see and she seductively moved towards him toying with his breast with her finger.  Coyly, moving her hand down below his huge gut and then he ran off to the bathroom without faltering, leaving Ai in the room next to his pants.  She slid her hand into the pocket to take out a 10,000 yen note and placed it in her purse.

After his visit, he came out nude but the smell of sweat filled the room.  Ai covered her nose and indicated she couldn’t handle the stench and ran back in to take a shower.  She took advantage of the situation and took the rest of the money.  She ran out into the hallway and slipped into emergency exit.  After five sets of stairs, she started breathing hard and looked at the money in her hand: 75,000 yen.  She boomed out with a loud laugh and ran all the way down out the back exit.

Ai stuck the wallet and noticed she dropped her cell somewhere but ran as fast as she could back home.  Her neighbor was in the middle of her room with a man and walked past her without noticing them.  She threw the wallet onto the bed and let out a sigh hearing the moaning from outside.  Her brain cancelled out the sound and giggled to the money in her hand.  Ai walked out and smiled at them as they were on the floor in between intercourse.  She opened her eyes and tossed her phone to her as she called the next number.  Her next appointment was a love hotel near the apartment and decided to wash up before visiting him.

She strolled two blocks down to the run down hotel seeing an attractive man with a lady by his side.  He handed her 25,000 yen without saying a word and followed him into the building.  Ai saw the woman and gave her a smile.  She leaned onto her as the man pushed both into the room.  The woman looked at her and she started to touch her every place without any resistance.

However, she felt comfortable letting her explore her nubile body, her sounds came out naturally, and when she finished, the woman lied by her snuggling up to Ai.  She let Ai take on an experienced woman’s body and learned how to push another female’s buttons.  Ai felt achieved after getting the first orgasm but the woman opened her mind to controlling another female’s body.  It was hands-on in learning about her body.  After her second one, the man popped his head into the room to check on them.

“Honey, you should be able to satisfy anyone now with what I have thought you, I have 100,000 yen for you as a gift for your future.”  She gently brushed her hair back and gave her a kiss on the lips before waving goodbye.

Ai returned back home tired from the experience and wanting to sleep but her neighbor was laid out on the couch looking up toward the ceiling.  Her face was stoned as she hinted a smile before looking at her.  She took a puff of her joint and offered it to her.  Ai stared at her smelling the smoke and lulling back into a dream.  Her lips quiver as she took the joint from her hand and smelt it on closer inspection.  Ai placed it on her lips and took a puff, her lungs burned but it soothed minutes later with a few cough inserted to show her inexperience.
~~

“Ms. Takahashi…. Takahashi-san…. Ai-chan….”  The little voice inserted into her mind and broke her trance.

“Gomen, are you feeling the effects of the withdrawal?”  Ai nodded.

“I want to know a little bit of your past…” Ai stood up towards her and grabbed the glass of water.  No one could understand her pain and even if she explained it, she felt everyone would build the wall around her.  Without notice, she broke the glass in her hand.

Ai didn’t flinch as the shards were sticking out of her hand.  The pain was deep in her heart and she pulled one of the shards and threw it against the wall.  Konno cautioned her to not do that but she pulled one more and threw it against the wall where it spread on the floor.  The blood crawled down her wrist and stood still as the doctors came in to treat her deep wound.

“Are you alright?”  Ai nodded as the last piece was removed and she let out a loud cry as they wrapped her hand with heavy bandaging.

“Well, if you don’t feel well, we can pick it up later.”  Ai shook her head.

“Let’s continue.”  She mumbled as Konno sat down to look at her book.

Konno noticed that her addiction was with ecstasy but on occasion she tried other recreational drugs which caught her eye.  The doctor looked towards one of the assistance and asked for a glass and a straw for the patient to drink through.  Ai tried to pick up the pitcher but the pain was running through her arm and waited for the assistant to put it together for her.

“Your past… is a weird path.  I have written down here that everything fell apart at age fifteen but there is no reason to what happened but after the incident, you broke away from your family.”  Ai lifted her bandaged hand.

“Have you been bullied?”  Konno nodded slowly.

“Did your bully ever felt your pain?”  Konno shook her head.

“She stopped after I took karate and defended myself.  She embarrassed me a few times as many bullies would but I never went as far as doing the same to her.”  Ai had a lopsided smile.

“Well, if I told you what happened to me, you wouldn’t believe me.”  Konno flipped to an empty page in her book.

“I am all ears, Ai-chan.”  Ai began to talk about her experience and her heart sank as she vividly remembered everything from the event.  Her pencil stopped a few times as the story startled her and placed it down before she could mention what she did to her.

“I feel bad for you.”  Ai stood up and walked over to the wall.

“Don’t you pity me.”  She said under her voice before yelling it out to Konno which Ai apologized for yelling at her.

“I’m sorry for doing that.  I get emotional.”  Ai nodded as she extended her other hand.

Ai walked outside the room and saw the woman from the shower.  She had short black hair, a little roundish, but looked like she was in shape.  She walked towards her and bowed deeply to her.  Ai returned the bow and she looked at her hand.

“What happened?”  Ai smiled.

“Anger.  It’s my price for being angry.”  She nodded and placed her hand on top of her shoulder.

“Anger brings out the worst in people, I should have known better before killing her out of anger…”  Before Ai could hear the details, she walked into the room, and the door was closed behind her.

The clock turned noon and walked over to the lunch room for her meal.  It was simple but it looked hearty to her as it reminded of a home-cooked meal from ten years ago when her parents would look at her with confidence.  Now, it was empty spaces next to her as she took her first spoonful into her mouth.  She cried as it tasted incredible and wanted to shout out her excitement but it reminded her of what torn them apart.  She put the spoon down and broke into the fish with her chopsticks.  After a few bites, she returned it back to the disposal with her appetite filled.

The afternoon was quiet in her room.  The itch for drugs was milder than the day before but she needed to suppress the feeling and looked over at her drawer to only find a pen.  She started to chew on it to soothe her body from wanting the drugs.  After a few minutes, she threw the pen to the ground and started to yell out of frustration at the pillow.  Ai closed her hand and started to punch the pillow as hard as she could until she expired on her bed.

Ai took a few deep breaths and closed her eyes to end her second day of rehab.  The urges were still strong but it seemed that she needed to fight off to win over addiction but with Konno she had an outlet to explain what went on for the past ten years.  That’s all she wanted.

I guess the price for writing a fic like this :sweatdrop:

Day 3

She woke up in a cold sweat and noticed she had only slept four hours.  Ai gazed outside to the night sky, noticing the half-moon out in the clear sky.  She closed her eyes to force herself back to sleep but the dream appeared at the worst time and decided to look outside for an assistant to ask for a glass of water.  Then, she remembered there is a phone to call in any request for immediate needs and picked up the phone to hear no tone.  Angrily, she slammed the phone on the holder and walked outside to seek a person.

Konno saw her outside the room and Ai signaled her for a glass of water.  One of the assistants ran up her glass and she quickly drank it.  Ai gave back the glass and entered to her room feeling a chill in the air.  She wrapped a blanket around her body and closed her eyes.

“I need to go to sleep.”  She said to herself but the sounds of crickets were now on her mind.

She wasn’t sure of the time but the night was soon turning to morning.  Her body was getting warm, so she took off the blanket and sat back on her bed.  Ai had brought a picture book and opened it to see her parents together with her in the middle.  She let out a sigh as she remembered the time before the event and they were talking like nothing ever bothering them.  If anyone had a concern, they were there to comfort each other but after it was a living hell.

Ai blocked out the last month of her life before the parents finalized their divorce.  She thought the easy way was to work until she finally get herself back to normal life but it brought her here.  She felt her fingers touch her lips and remembered the last puff of the joint.  It felt soothing and gave her an ultimate high until waking up at the entrance of the clinic.  She closed the book and saw the sun rising over the horizon and heard a knock at the door.

“WAKE…”  She paused as she saw Ai standing in the middle of the room.

“Arigatou!”  Ai bowed to her and she hid her smile as she walked out.

Ai looked at the schedule and took her spare clothes to the shower for a quick rinse off.  She walked down the hallway to the woman she met yesterday and saw her bow to Ai and she stopped her.  Ai bowed to her and took a deep breath.

“Sorry about yesterday, they really should give us space to walk around.”  She smiled towards her.

“I agree, anyways what is your name?”  She asked as Ai smiled back.

Ai learned that her name was Sakaguchi Akiko and she had been in rehab for about two months for alcohol dependency.  Her parents sent her because they feared addiction but in reality they were the cause of her party girl attitude.  She resisted speaking for a week but her therapist opened her petals up slowly despite her nasty attitude towards people.  Aki-chan was bad at first impressions but as soon as you got to see through the thick façade, they could see she was a kind person.

Ai felt grateful that one other person spoke to her and continued on to the shower where she got her hair washed and walked back to her room to ready for another session.  She yawned as she entered into the room and suddenly went into another daydream.

~~
She remembered the taste of her first marijuana joint, tar tasting but refreshing from the air around her.  Her neighbor lent her a few of her joints to smoke while she got some more for both of them.  Ai lit one for her and let out a puff into the air.  She hinted a smile and turned to look for her phone which she had lost the night before.  Ai stood up and felt the floor crumble below.  She let out a laugh that could waken a sleeping giant but she managed to pull through to the door.  She felt the wad of cash in the pocket and walked over to the cell phone place to buy a new phone.  The man was quiet and handed her a cheap phone with a plan that she could at least manage for the time being.  She strolled back without any more incidents and went back to her room for another puff.  Her mind cleared of her concerns; she finally had herself at peace again until someone charged into her room.

“Where is she?”  The man from last night was feet from her as her neighbor came in right after and socked him in the face.

She watched everything unfold in front of her with less concern of her health and saw them rumbled through her living room.  The screaming never bothered her until Ai saw him slip and felt out through the open window.  The neighbor ran out while Ai was trying to comprehend what had happened in front of her.  Her mind clicked only when she remembered the drugs and threw it into her closet.  She walked over to the elevator and sat on the chair to get back to the sense of reality.

Ten minutes later, she seemed in good shape to piece together the puzzle and saw the policeman approached her.  Ai remembered seeing him fall out but she wasn’t the one to push him out of the window.  Even, if she declared her innocence, she was taken into the station for more questioning, and let her off after catching the neighbor.  She took a taxi back to her apartment and a woman was standing outside of the door.

“Remember me?”  She asked as Ai shook her head slowly.

The woman pressed her finger onto her right hipbone and she felt that pleasure point from last night and looked up at her suddenly putting the person into her memory.  She was slightly taller than her with brownish hair and her eyes reminded her of the devil.  Seductively, she grabbed her butt surprising Ai and smiled at her as she handed her a stack of 10,000-yen notes.

“I know that you live here but I think it would be better if you live with me.”  Ai felt her butt squeezed again and agreed to the arrangement.

She led them up to her room to pack up her stuff.  The woman watched as the movers moved everything out of the apartment and suddenly remembered the joints in her bedroom.  Ai ran into the closet to slip it into her pocket as the woman gave her a smile.  She slipped her hand into Ai’s pocket slowly revealing the joints.

“Well, well what we have here?”  She held up the bag avoiding the hands of the girl.

“I need them.”  She yelped as she handed it over to her.

“The deal is you will work for me as a call girl but half the money has to go to me.  You do not know the price or what they will do to you but you have to agree to it anyway.  Since, I am nice I will give you the easiest of my customers, lonely housewives.  They will treat you nicely until you can go to harder stuff and I will decide on when you can have them.  However, I don’t like drugs in my household so you need to discard them as soon as possible and if you don’t, I will show you my wrath.”  Ai shook her head and followed her to the limousine.

Ai stepped into the limousine with the woman and suddenly felt her head being smashed against the cushion.  She desperately struggled to get out as the woman’s hand rubbed her behind slowly before lashing out.  Ai screamed in pain as she felt the hand bruise it but she continued a couple more time and letting her go.  Ai had tears in her eyes as the woman let out a laugh to her.

“You think that is sore?  Imagine the clientele that wants nubile women.”  The fear struck her and soother her butt as the woman laughed at her.

Ai finally felt comfortable sitting down and a question popped into her mind as she faced her.  The woman looked back and grabbed onto her arm as she was pulled towards her.  Her hand was calmly placed on her legs as Ai’s mouth quivered trying to get the question out from her mouth.

“What’s your name?”  She smiled.

“Fujimoto Miki, you shall call me whatever you please to call me.”  Ai nodded.

“Is that all questions you have for me, girl?”  Ai nodded again.

Fujimoto suddenly got close enough to touch her privately while getting a kiss.  That comfortable feeling came into mind again as they stripped down in the back seat and continued off where they stopped the previous night.  She never thought about Fujimoto as her boss but as a partner that could help her break away from her pain.  The sounds of ecstasy nullified the outside noise of traffic.  Ai felt something broke off and halted Fujimoto’s progress to her box.  She looked at the ornament and smiled as it was worthless to her and threw it onto the ground.  Ai’s screams were giving Fujimoto a headache and pondered about if it was going to be a concern.  Fujimoto pulled back and wiped the sweat off her brow to put her work clothes back on.

They arrived at a gate where there was a mansion.  Ai gleamed at the idea of living somewhere expensive and was chased out of the car after entering the driveway.  She was taken to a small house where she heard murmurs and was pushed inside without explanation.  Someone grabbed the cord to turn on the light and one face appeared in front of her.

“Hello. I am Michishige and you are in your home for the next few months.”  She turned to find the door but it was locked.

“Sorry you cannot exit once Miki-sama brings you into here.”  She said in a monotone voice.

“Why?  Why would she do this?”  Ai panicked and Michishige placed her hands on her shoulders.

“She is our master.  She brings in girls who are out in the world alone and bring them here to work them into slaves.”  Ai’s heart dropped as she desperately tried breaking out to no avail.

“I was trapped by the police and she told me that I could work for her but not at this type of job for another person.”  She smiled and noticed the stains on her legs.

Without notice she was grabbed away from her and dragged to the pool where Miki had been lounging on a chair.  Ai was furious that she had tricked her but kept her cool as she lowered her sunglasses.

“I guess you found Sayu.  She is at the highest level of the program and she is a year younger than you.  Doesn’t that make you jealous?”  Ai shook her head.

“It should because you will become her soon enough and you will take everything coming your way with a smile.”  A woman about fifteen years older than her came up and analyzed her carefully.

She placed her hand everyplace on her body without a whimper from Ai and agreed to take her from Fujimoto’s hands.  She was escorted to the car and suddenly saw a light come flashing towards her.
~~

“Hello, are you okay Ai?”  Konno asked.

“I am a little tired at the moment; can we just pass on today?”  Konno nodded.

“You had a hard time sleeping last night, didn’t you?  I can’t blame you for it so we can pass for today but if you are ready to sit down; I am open to having an open meeting.”  Konno smiled at her and walked toward the door but Ai stopped her.

“Can you have someone fix my phone?  I wanted to call but it was broken.”  Ai requested and looked at the assistant as he followed her back to the room.

The afternoon was wasted just watching them figure out what was wrong with the phone and remembered the last patient in the room cut the cord with its teeth and never bothered to replace it.  The assistant grabbed a new phone and set it up for Ai to use and she called for a snack for her.  It filled her but the image of facing Sayu in the shed had scared her and she needed it to be rid of and walked to Aki-chan’s room where she was reading a book.

“Ah, Ai-chan.  You look like you seen a ghost.”  She responded.

“My past is coming back as haunting memories; can you show me to the library?”  Aki-chan nodded and Ai walked into the small room filled with books and grabbed one to read to herself.

After a while, her eyes were heavy of sleep and dropped the book as a pillow for her head.  Without checking the time, she woke up and placed the book in the used bin.  She didn’t feel hungry so she walked back into her room to sleep, hopefully longer than the previous night .

Day 4

A storm awoke her from her slumber and she witnessed the rain drops hitting her window as hard as rocks.  Through her half-opened eyes, the drops created pictures of her youth.  She had many friends that used to hang around her but when she won the battle, she had been placed into a bad light at school.  The friends she did have turned their backs on her and she was left to fight the battles on her own.  Despite the mounting negative remarks, she stuck it out for the first month but that all changed with the divorce.

Custody was the headache for every divorce case and she was the center of attention as they both fought over her like a piece of meat until it was agreed that the share would benefit her mother.  Ai took it upon herself to run away as fast as she could from any decision thus they were left with no daughter to share.

Ai stared at the window as she heard a knock at the door and it was Asami with a glass of water for her patient.  The therapist looked at her hand and gave a sorrowful expression before looking up at her.  Her thoughts were jumbled at best for the reason to visit her but the morning visits were becoming woeful for the past three days.  Konno discussed that Ai’s day dreaming was the reason for the lack of progress and decided to change them to afternoon.  Ai agreed to the change and placed her head on the pillow.

~~
She had learned the person who brought her in was a record producer’s wife.  She was divaish and loved to twirl her feeble-minded husband around her finger.  Mrs. Kawaguchi was a pop singer before her world came crashing down after her affair with another man.  Her record producer had threatened legal action if it didn’t stop so in an agreement, she had married him with a prenuptial agreement that unfairly went against her.  However, she was control the daily chores so getting maids was her priority but they had to be of a certain breed: Young, unmolded girl.

Ai had fit it perfectly and was soon rushed off to prepare the tables for the couple.  It seemed mildly amusing that the house was so huge for both of them and as she was the only maid, she had assumed she was living in a guestroom but she had learned the living space was a basement away from the main rooms.  The room was meant for guests but was never fully completed and the small space barely fit what was needed for the job.

During the table setup, the woman secretly hid a toy under the tablecloth and as Ai was preparing, she was immediately raped.  Kawaguchi had no remorse for Ai and took upon to humiliate her in private.  She had to wash the clothes for the couple and was forced to smell the rotten materials from her batch.  Her head was dunked into the soapy water while she pleasured her.  Then, she had been given clothes that had holes in them specifically for easy entry.

Her husband had no clue it was happening until she had been alone with him.  A simple request for a back rub led to intercourse on the couch where the wife had videotaped them.  Her cunning plan using Ai was the advantage to taking every penny from him.  The only problem was she needed to keep her quiet and her perverted ways made Ai a mute.

A few months later, she had obtained everything in his possession and started to invite people for sex parties.  Ai had been used so many times that her womanhood bled profusely which pissed off the woman.  Every hospital visit cost her money and she couldn’t let Ai keep taking the abuse over a short time but she had a way to punish her.  The day that she had brought home a foreigner as her lover, Ai had been shyly hiding from her sight, and she seductively dragged him into the room.

The foreigner thought he could get her to join them but she refused as Ai was a dirty slut.  He persisted in his pleas that she only allowed Ai to take him first before joining her upstairs.  Ai was obedient in her duties to please a man and made him release prematurely.  As usual, she cleaned up without any objections but he was concerned how the lady treated her and took it upon him to teach her a lesson.

The walk upstairs haunted her.  The screaming, yelling, and moaning filled her ears.  Hours of continuous intercourse until she heard one last scream.  The man flew down and took her out of the house.  She had listened to him about his boot camp stories and how he came to Japan as an Army private.  He was called himself Jon and he treated Ai nicely as a man should and housed her in abandon warehouse.

Ai thought that only bad would come out from living in a warehouse but he never forced her into anything that she disliked.  She had a diet of American food and made her back to a healthy weight but she heard that he wanted to show her off at a party and refused.

“I saved you from that witch and this is how you repay me.”

“I… want to know… what you mean.”  Ai explained.

“You be my girlfriend for the night.”  He used signals that he hoped could explain the situation to her.

“Oh okay.”  Ai nodded.

He brought her a few sets of clothing for the party and she tried them on but they were slightly used and too big on her but she went it.  Night fell and the warehouse was filled with people that were foreign to her.  She felt uncomfortable as she was thorn in the group and the only person who was similar to her was in the corner.

“You want something to calm you down?”  She asked Ai.

“What do you have?  I tried marijuana.”  She laughed at her.

“I have something better, take this pill, and you’ll feel loose.”  Ai swallowed the bluish pill and the effects kicked in immediately.

Ai flew back to the man with a happy expression and greeted everyone she had met happily.  He couldn’t describe the change in personality but thought it would be fine for the time being.  Ai ran back to the woman and gave whatever she had in her pocket for a container filled with the blue and white stripe pills.  She felt relaxed for the first time in her life and the party flashed by her.

The foreigner was surprised that Ai could be friendlier than she was at the start and decided to throw more parties.  It was great to have the pills as she could face the others as a calm individual but inside she growing into an insomniac. Since, he was into raves, the place was packed with dealers, and she could rely on the one source.

The dealer knew the number one rule, don’t use what you sell, and she was on a roll in selling.  She used observations to test out her goods before selling them and was easily the richest out of the dealers.  She went by the name R.T. which was her initials.  She offered them up like candy to the dancers and they were dancing all night to her favorite songs and her knowledge spanned across the globe as she could fit people to the drug of their choice.  Ai began to fall for her and had sex just for the drugs.

R.T. had developed the same feelings and began to be careless about her handling which prompted more people to observe her.  Ai was paying the money but it was the late payments that made her mad.  R.T. had covered all the pills Ai took for the first year but it grew difficult with every payment that she had permanently left the arena without any clues to her whereabouts.

However, she felt the need to put on a mask but the pills were a great substitute.  However, the dependency became the demon she had to face for the next ten years.
~~

Ai woke up refreshed but that urge to get the drug was growing in her.  She ran to the shower to get her body cleansed would help but it didn’t.  She ran into the cafeteria to get breakfast but the pills were on her mind and ran outside to seek the storm.  The enemy to her sleep seemed to be the enemy to her urges and she ran out to the garden and started to scream obscenities to the clouds.  The mixture of rain and wind knocked her down to one knee but she kept fighting until she felt her arms being grabbed and soon turned against them.

Konno was with the onlookers seeing that her patient had gone psychotic for that brief moment.  The guards took her to the isolation room as she continued her tirade against the walls.  Konno’s voice couldn’t seem to soothe the woman and Aki-chan tried helping but to no avail.

The depression took upon Konno as she felt confident that Ai was more obedient than the usual patient but she was wrong.  However, she felt relieved that it has happened now instead at the end where the steps had to be done again from square one.  She stood by the door and heard the noises coming from the room as it was a process to calm down the patient from lashing out onto others.

Day 5-7

The dark room swirled into her dream, she didn’t know the time, or what had happened but she seemed calm from her outburst.  She spoke with the echoes hitting back softly but another voice had entered into her mind.  It reminded her of the only person to fully believe her when she was lost.  It ringed loud enough that she closed her ears and yelled for no reason.

“Ai-chan, are you okay?”  Konno asked only to her yelling again.

She closed her ears until she fell to the ground and everything around her became black.

~~
The last trip left in an alleyway where the sun had rose over the horizon.  It was four years since she started taking the pills for anxiety and the many locations she woke up in, it was one of the most rancid.  She rolled out of the pile of trash and saw a girl staring at her.  Ai waved at her before she came over to help her onto her feet.

“Thanks.”  Ai brushed herself off and walked toward the streets.

“Why were you sleeping here?”  She asked her and Ai smiled.

“I can’t seem to answer that question but if you don’t mind me asking for money.”  She handed her over 2,000 yen to Ai and in return Ai gave her phone number.

She took couple of steps away from her and her phone rung in her pocket.  It was an unknown number but she answered it anyway.

“Hello, can you tell me your name?”  Ai answered her question and asked the same question to her.

“Niigaki Risa.”  She said hesitantly but it gave Ai a smile.

“Can you meet me for lunch?  If not, I can treat you for dinner.”  Risa agreed to dinner and looked at clock in the restaurant and noted she was going to meet her in nine hours.

She ventured through the town with her mind still high as a plane and instantly felt the crash into the ground.  Her body was in pain and she searched through her clothing for another pill but remembered she had put them down at the party last night.  She hit her head constantly until she gave up looking for them and walked into a store for water to hydrate her body.

One bottle seemed enough until she took one step out the door and felt dizzy that she bought another bottle for the road.  The time seemed to go slowly until the smell of marijuana lured her into a backroom of a massage parlor.  The girls were on break and taking a puff of a joint in their circle.  Ai took a puff to soothe the pain she was feeling at the moment and thank them with 1,000 yen.  The effects were much stronger than she had before that she sat down on the bus bench and laughed uncontrollably to the people passing.

Before she could look at the clock, she began to feel that she was late and called the girl again.

“Risa-chan, are you there?”  Ai asked as she looked to her right to find the girl signaling to her.

Their meeting place was a small café that Risa usually hang out after school but the atmosphere was different in the evening where the adults were controlling the flow.  Cigarette smoke filled the air and Risa took out a cigarette and lit it for Ai but she refused.  Risa threw it into an ashtray and took a seat in the corner away from the window as they look at the menu for their dinner choices.

“Ai… doesn’t this make you nervous?”  Risa asked as Ai shook her head.

“I have been in places worse than this.  At least you can experience this with innocent eyes.”  Risa nervously shook her head.

“I have been here before with my parents but to see people in their natural environment make me feel nervous.”  Risa admitted to her.

Ai looked at the menu and picked out roast chicken with potato and rice medley.  Risa chose the fish over a vegetable mixture.  They looked around the room with the amazement of the couples talking over alcohol and how they were laughing over nonsense.  However, the anticipation within the room forced a move by the younger girl and Ai rubbed her hand.

“Have you ever had a boyfriend before?”  Ai shook her head and Risa shook her head too.

“I guess we can agree that it is making us uncomfortable.” Both laughed nervously and then looked into each other’s eyes.

As they moved in closer for a kiss, their meal came in between them and interrupted the progress.  The anxious feeling was building slowly like boiling water until RIsa knocked her fork off the table and both simultaneously went for a kiss.  The awkward kiss made both of them laugh and each took a deep breath to relax and their bodies tangled in the cramped space.

They knew the café would get crowded if they didn’t start eating but they wanted to run out before paying.  The duo walked into the bathroom and escaped through the window anyone noticing.  They ran away as fast they could until they ran out of breath at the park where the sprinklers just turned on.  The water refreshed their bodies and they fell onto the grass to have another embrace.

When they finished their kiss, both decided to take a seat on the bench while they were soaked from the water hitting them constantly.  The laughs continued until they both were settled and Ai finally came with the realization.  Risa took off all the anxiety she had been suffering from and she was slowly becoming closer to someone of the same sex.  It surprised her that she could be the one to answer all her questions.

“Ai-chan, this feels so great being away from my boyfriend.”  Ai’s expression turned serious as Risa looked at her strangely.

“You have a boyfriend?”  Risa nodded.

“He is controlling and never lets me go out with my friends.  I want to strangle him because he can hang out with his friends but I cannot.  Don’t you think that is ironic?”  Ai nodded.

“You want to break up with him?”  Risa paused and she grabbed Ai’s hand.

“I do.  If I can do so, I need a good reason.”  Risa explained and then a shadow came from the other side of the park.

Risa ran over to the other bench and stopped a few feet from the couple.  Ai could hear her voice shrill from where she was standing and ran over to figure what was happening.  Risa had gone berserk seeing her boyfriend with another girl and Ai had to control her from behind as she started to scream obscenities to him.  She broke from Ai’s control attacked the girl by the hair and tossed her into the pond.  Ai felt she had to do something and closed her hand into a fist and swung towards his face.

“Ai-chan, you didn’t have to do that.”  He was on the ground with his eyes rolled up and tongue sticking out.

“No one screws around with you.”  Ai yelled and Risa wrapped her arms around her.

“Thank you.”  She said softly as tears ran down her cheeks.

After the quick embrace, they fled the scene and took the long way to the warehouse where she had been staying in away from the people on her tail.  It wasn’t as nice as she wanted it to be but it was suitable for the night.  Risa changed out of her uniform and slipped under the sheet with only her underwear on.  Despite not liking to be in her underwear when she sleeps, Ai decided to follow Risa in just sleeping.
~~

Ai woke up to the light screaming into her face with Konno blocking enough from her complaint.  She sat up and saw a tray of food in front of her.  She ate it hastily without saying a word.  She looked up and saw the concern on Konno’s face as Ai pushed the tray forward.

“I’m sorry for my behavior.”  Ai apologized.

“I accept it.  You have been out for a while, almost two days here with noises of withdrawal in your voice.  Are you okay?”  Ai nodded.

Asami looked back and the two men picked her up to escort her to her room.  Konno analyzed the room for any discarded items and was impressed that she didn’t soil the room.  However, she had concerns of her current state of her well-being.  Konno walked up to the room and Ai sat down on her bed exhausted from her experience in the dark room.

“Takahashi-san, call me if need anything.  Tomorrow, I need to help a new patient before meeting up to the room so I hope you can get some rest.”  Konno closed the door and Ai put her head on the pillow and went instantly to sleep.

The next morning, Aki-chan knocked on her door until Ai woke up and she caught a glimpse of the new patient.  Konno was showing the complex to her and Ai saw her face.  She closed the door and started to cry as everything came back to her.  She cursed herself that she came here.

Risa, why did you ruin yourself?

@darkace I like the cliffhangers in general for the next chapter but it was unusual to have it for so long

Day 7-12

Ai felt something lodged in her throat, she watched Risa walk to the other side of the building where they check them into the facility.  She opened her door to find a nurse and asked for a cup of water.  She sat down outside of her door as she waited for her request.  Aki-chan took a seat next to her as she held her legs up to her chest.

“You look pale.  The detention room took a lot out of you.”  Ai shook her head.

“A friend just got admitted here…”  Aki-chan’s eyes opened up in surprise.

“A friend?  No way!  Many people I know have avoided here despite their addiction with drugs.  I hope she isn’t in a bad situation.”  The nurse offered her glass of water to Ai as she tilted her head back to the wall.

Ai began to think on what she should say to her friend and if she would accept her after the last meeting.

~~
Ai exited from the club with the sunlight peeking through the building in downtown Tokyo.  She wobbled toward the street as the group started to dissipate in every direction.  Ai traveled through the streets with a smile and was in bliss over the night’s progressions.  She got to the apartment and opened the door with the room quiet as she peeked into Risa’s room.

“Partying again?”  The look of irritation hit into Ai’s eyes and she sat down next to her.

“I have been trying to stay away but they want me to come because the crowds want me to perform.”  Ai explained to Risa as she crossed her arms in disgust.

Ai jumped onto her couch and dozed off with the last image of Risa with a mad expression.  A few hours later, she woke up hungry for lunch and looked in the refrigerator for food but all the food was cleared out.  Every place was cleaned out and once she looked into Risa’s room, it hit her that she finally had her limit of her partying.

She opened her phone and started to text an apology every second but had no reply within the first few minutes.  An hour passed by and the same result.  The night came with no reply back and she sent another barrage before heading out to the bar.  Ai knew that she would eventually forgive her and kept that thought until she walked into the bar and her friends offered drinks to her.

Ai avoided the conversations with a drink in her hand and scanned the area with her mind still on Risa.  She finally got to the end of the area and saw a crowd around someone dancing.  She turned back to the bar to ask for another drink and someone from her right stole her drink from her possession and as she grabbed the woman, her fist was ready to get in contact, and threw the punch to her face.

The woman fell to the floor and the people boxed her out of the area.  She escaped out of the bar and headed back home with her fist hurting from the punch.  Ai held her hand until she returned home and held an ice pack stuck to the side of the freezer and dozed off to the morning.

Her thoughts came into her dreams and it pierced her mind easily as the guilt built in her and woke up to the sound of door knocks.  She peeked outside her window and knew she was in trouble with the lights flashing and put on suitable clothes for the visit.  She opened it up to the detectives and gazed into their eyes trying to figure out the reason they came to visit.

They did their best to divert the conversation but she knew it was about that punch as they glanced at her hand.  Ai felt the pain increased and admitted that she did strike someone last night.  It was an admission they weren’t expecting as they looked at each other before latching on handcuffs to take her into the station.

Ai asked for an icepack for her hand and they gladly gave her one as she moved her fingers to keep it from tightening.  The detective calmly took the seat across of her and slid a picture to her.  Ai looked down and closed her eyes as she shook her head in disbelief.

“Is that the person I punched?”  He nodded as she slid another picture but Ai had seen enough.

“I will take full responsibility and I accept my sentence.”  Ai was released with the other party declining to press charges but that day she could never forget how Risa was decked by Ai’s drunken foolishness.
~~

Ai spent the next three days avoiding counseling in the room causing Konno to have a private conference in her office discussing about the consequences of skipping the meetings.  She understood that the penalties would be harsh and tried to suggest an alternative for the time being.  Ai didn’t want to explain about Risa but Konno wasn’t aware that it was an uncomfortable situation and Ai finally pounded the table in frustration.

“I cannot face her.”  She yelled as Konno tilted her in confusion.

“Who is the person you cannot see?”

“Niigaki.”

“Niigaki Risa?”  Ai nodded as she understood the message.

“Well two patients can’t be in at the same time so it would be prohibited and discussing her situation is prohibited.  The problem is you need to attend the meetings.”  Ai nodded and felt the pain from her past come rushing back.

“However, we can change the times to suit the problems.  Afternoon in room B would assist you for now until you rid of the feeling within.”  Ai motioned as she slipped out of the room and headed to the cafeteria for her meal.

The cafeteria was half-filled with patients as the break between breakfast and lunch usually attract less customers.  She ordered a piece of toast and orange juice for her and waited for it to come her way.  Aki-chan noticed Ai waiting and ran up to her with news about her friend.

“I have been talking to her and she was admitted for alcohol addiction and behavioral problems.  She mentioned that her girlfriend was cheating on her and she left without telling her.  That night she wanted to relinquish the pain from her body and was punched in the face.  The culprit was never charged because she knew who did it to her but she never explained the reason.”  Ai interrupted the conversation by grabbing her meal and walked to the table away from everybody.

Ai bit into the toast and chewed slowly as Risa consumed her thoughts again.  She was the person to hold her in check despite her ways.  Risa had the heart to take away anything to deter her way but failed to keep her within the four walls.  Finally, Risa was her mate in life and she ruined it with her consistent partying.  Aki-chan began to purge the expressions but couldn’t get the signals and Ai left with half her toast on the plate and drank all the orange juice.

The woman attended her meeting on time and began to explain the relationship between Risa and her.  She had gone through every detail from the start to the unfortunate finish with every intimate detail in between.  Ai rushed through her story before time ran out but she couldn’t get anything from Konno about Risa’s status.  Despite the lack of information, she felt a heavy weight pulled off her back, and walked into the showers to rinse off before dinner.

Ai skipped dinner for a glass of water and stayed in her room thinking about Risa and replaying the moments that made her leave that day and ended up here for rehab.  Every scene was pieces of a movie and the genres came out with every expression between them and would end with regret and sorrow.  Ai sipped the water with the memories recovering in her archives and cried over the pain she had caused her.  Ai yelled at her pillow in frustration before snoring off another night of pain.

Two days later, Ai finally had a clear conscious since seeing Risa walking in with her hands behind her back.  It was a myriad of problems but it couldn't let her become consumed with it.  She headed to the grassy area and looked outside with the sun approaching mid-morning.  The woman was cleansed with the strong wind and ran outside smelling the fresh air and sat down in the chair breathing hard.  She finally felt happy overcoming the Risa guilt building in her that she closed her eyes and was awoken in a voice.

“Long time no see, Ai-chan.”  She knew the voice but gave her a moment to acknowledge her and it was finally the truth or the first step to her own personal hell.

@darkace: thnx for the comment, I wish I could update more often but I need to work on the story again but TakaGaki based story

Day 12-14

Ai knew the voice even if she was yelling but to face her like this was beyond reason and to realize that Risa could be hiding a surprise her wasn’t out of the realm of possibility.  She had wished Aki-chan was by her side at the moment but she would have given away the identity before anything else and that would have ruined the surprise factor.

“Long time no see.  How’s everything?”  Ai asked without turning around and trying to keep her head away from the other woman.

“I don’t know really.  It is why I am here.”  She took the seat next to her and let a sigh.

“You were never a drug user.”

“I know.  But… since that day I got floored, it changed everything about my life.  I decided to live your life for once and forget the past.  It finally caved in after I got arrested with methamphetamines in my pocket.”

“Why?”  Ai yelled out as she avoided looking at her again and finally Risa faced her enemy.

“Because I thought I could find you again, if I followed what you had been doing, but you left for good from the area.  So, I went out to find a new partner and she came out to be a good friend to send me here.”  Ai turned her head closing her eyes avoiding what was the truth in front of her.

“You were such a great person, just letting me do my drugs, and I felt horrible when you left the apartment.  I decided to move elsewhere because I lacked the money for rent.”  Risa held Ai’s face in her hands as before, the feeling was still in her hands as a mother would hold the child to gains its attention.

“You were the only person who I truly loved and that never changed.  Every ounce was my hope to see you one day and it kept me going until I finally saw the light.”  Risa wrapped her arms around the woman’s body with her tears rolling down her cheek.

Ai never imagined Risa following her down the dark path and even now she refused to acknowledge she was a patient here but a visitor.  She held her closely and looked at the nape of her neck, the bruises were deep and the cuts were hardened over with skin causing nasty scars.  Ai had remembered the events leading up to meeting Risa but the day she left, her life was a blur of partying, drinking, doing drugs, etc.  The cycle was continuous until she came here and knew she was at peace away from the reality.

Risa lounged on the floor looking up at the white ceiling.  It was a change in scenery from the day before with people in jail.  She never talked to anyone as she was left in a daze and was bailed out by her new friend, who finally drove her to the place so she could be at peace despite Risa pleading she would change.  It was different from her home, it felt wide open, and the people would not harass her for anything.

However, she had that feeling of deep hatred against Ai.  She could mask it well behind her smile but she felt ready to crack at any moment.  It was the living hell she went through for a long time after she left the police station.  She wanted to injure her beyond all recognition and she wanted to do it to rid of the demons around her.

Ai glanced over at Risa with her grin somewhat looked awkward than before, she began to feel a chill in the air like she was going to strike her.  She turned again and now Risa was next to her with the hands hidden behind her.

“Are you okay?”  She asked as Ai distanced herself.

“Why are you hiding your hands?”  Her question was soft and she felt endangered by Risa’s behavior.

“I cannot help this anymore.”  Risa lunged forward with a plastic butter knife and scratched Ai on the forearm.

Ai kicked her away from her as Risa lunged again but into the footwear of Ai breaking the ridged end.  Risa switched the knife around ready to stab her and Ai swung her weight over forcing Risa to the stairs.  One strong kick to the midsection, Risa flew backwards, and tumbled to the bottom of the stairs.  Security saw the blood on Risa’s head and nose and took her to the infirmary.

“Ai-chan, are you alright?”  Aki-chan saw the slice she took on the forearm and grabbed a towel to hold the wound.

Ai was in shock as the pain slowly took effect as she relaxed from her surprise.  The nurse bandaged her up as Konno sat down next to Ai explaining the situation.  Konno had been aware of Risa’s mental state when she was admitted and blamed herself for not realizing it sooner.  Ai closed her eyes as Konno almost let Risa kill her without noticing the signs.  She stormed back to her room and locked it for the rest of the day.

The next morning, Ai was still in disbelief over her friend’s rampage against her.  On one hand, she deserved what was coming to her as she made Risa worry about her.  However, it wasn’t just her she had to fight but it was the drugs that had taken over her.  She held the wound and began to murmur an apology to herself for being this person that almost ruined a life and promised that it won’t happen again.  She opened her eyes up and looked toward the door, her heart raced as she feared that Risa could come in and finished the job but her confidence won over and opened the door to find no one out there.

Ai got dressed up to see Konno for a private meeting and a quick counseling of her attack.  She walked quickly to her office and was joined by another doctor inside.  The doctor closed the door behind her and sat down at the round table by the bookshelf as Konno was prepared to introduce the new doctor.  She was close to her age and gave off confidence in being in the room as she extended her hand.

“I am Ogawa Makoto, I will be your new counselor as Konno feared for problems in the future.  I hope to present the same type of nurturing and optimism as Konno-san so please bear with me.”  Ai shook her hand and discussed the situation with both of them.

In the back of her mind, she wondered where Risa was in the complex.  She remembered the dark room after her attack on a visitor but it seemed a while ago that it had happened and she felt weird that anyone would lash out at her within the confines of the facility.  Ogawa had a folder under her arm as Ai relaxed on the chair waiting for the conversation to continue.

“Is there any history between you and Risa?”  Ai shook her head slowly.

“You seem uncomfortable to explain the situation.”  Ogawa analyzed the patient as she opened the folder.

“She… and I were lovers.”  Ai murmured as Ogawa moved her pencil.

Ai-chan began to build the history between them and it seemed to become a novel where one would forgive her but Ai slowly believed that it could end without a reunion.  After half an hour, she broke down wondering why Risa would attack her.  Konno rubbed the patient’s back as Ai let out her screams and Ogawa put the pencil down to review her notes.

“I have found that Risa may have been in withdrawals and saw you as a threat.  It wasn’t your fault that she snapped.”

“It was my fault that she left for her own and only wanted me to see myself.”  Ai yelled back as Konno held her back from Ogawa.

Ogawa sat there stiff watching Ai as she began to see Ai break from herself.  Ai dug her fingers into the chair, waiting for her to speak, but Konno stepped in front of the other doctor.

“We can move on from here.  I know you want to apologize but policies say she will stay in the room for three days and we can wait until then.”  She excused Ai from the office and followed her to the room.

Ai forced herself to sleep wanting the three days to go by quickly but the clock was against her.  She stared at the clock wanting to change time back to the day where Risa was in her arms and she would swear off her drugs.

@darkace thnx for the support, I'd plan for more violence but eliminating the lustful actions

Day 15-18

Ai went through her usual routine despite having Risa weighing heavy on her mind.  Ogawa and Konno ran her through tests after the assault and found very little change in her demeanor.  As she followed through the days, she began to get accustomed to the food that was being served.  She was having a lot of small snacks instead of the meals which comforted her stomach but her heart was aching from the events of the attack.

“Ai-chan, you’ve been here a lot.”  Aki-chan called out as she joined the woman at the table.

“Been enjoying the small snacks, I never noticed that they did this.”  She gave out a loud laugh as she took a handful of popcorn for her.

“I can’t say I knew either but it has been quite new to get patients to talk to each other unfortunately some…”  Ai stuck up her hand.

“I can’t wait until she gets released, there is no saying that she can change but she had every right to attack me.”  Ai popped another piece into her mouth as the PA system released its message.

Every patient please return to your room immediately.

Ai and Akiko walked back together and split to their individual rooms as the people checked the rooms following procedure until they called off the drill.  Ai laid in bed with her body frozen and her mind dozing off to another flashback.

~~
Ai landed a job in a vegetable stand and became a helping hand for people who had become outcast.  It was also a way to hide from the world after her arrest.  Many of the women were petty criminals with horrible family lives but she was the luckiest one as she had no children.

The group was monitored by the family who ran the stand and they were strict about everything based on the women but she found it to be false as she realized they were inviting and warm.  She enjoyed every meal with them and began to mentor their eldest child through her second year in high school.  Ai listened many of her issues and tried to encourage her to do extracurricular activities which she got on the soccer team.

Ai’s mentorship also extended to a weird area that she could only associate with and she was quiet about the relationship, however the others were more vocal about the awkward relationship with a female yankii.  Ai understood it as a close friendship but she had to confront the situation.  She walked to the park to observe the two sitting next to each other as friends would but they were closer than usual.

She saw them cuddle and they kissed in front of her.  Ai stood there feeling her heart drop a little as she felt guilty of the relationship.  She returned back to face her father who saw the relationship blossom and kept her head down as he let out his frustrations but she stepped up.

“Don’t blame Ai.  It wasn’t her fault for finding someone who liked me.”  She yelled at him.

Her father wanted to fight back but zipped his mouth after watching her leave his sight.  Ai bowed towards him as an apology to him and quickly packed up before anyone could notice her.  Despite the early morning, she murmured a prayer for her and walked out to the nearest bus stop out of the town.  The first bus was warming up its engine as Ai walked in and paid the fee as she headed for the back.

“Hello again.”  She looked to her right seeing someone covered up and sleeping on the seat.

“How do you know me?”  The woman sat up throwing the blanket to the side and opening up a seat next to her.

“We were classmates in high school.  You were the one who protected me from the bullies and then I heard you dropped out because of your parents.”  Ai lowered her head as she tried to find a name through her face but was left with nothing.

“Sorry, I don’t know your name but nice meeting you again.”  Ai tilted her head as she put her bag on her lap and slowly dozed off in her seat.

She wasn’t aware of her surroundings but it was far away from the town.  She arrived near the outskirts of Tokyo and got off the bus to travel to the next destination but noticed a stray dog walking by her sniffing her bag.  She kneels down to pet the dog but it started to bark loudly at her, startling the woman, and out from the bushes was a police officer greeting the dog.

“Sorry ma’am, please hand over the bag.”  Ai gave the officer the bag and he took it to the side to search through it.

He thoroughly rummaged the bag emptying out the contents and then saw the small bag of green specks pop out and the dog sniffed it out.  Its nose touched the bag and Ai squinted at the dog as she never knew a bag of marijuana was in her bag but the officer thought it was weird that Ai had it and had his suspicions.

“Follow me to the station.”  He said in a low voice as Ai followed him and took a seat in the waiting room.

He looked middle-aged and seemed to believe that someone had planted the bag in her possession, as they were trying to rid of the evidence.  He argued to his commanding officer that something didn’t seem right but was forced to book her on a drug offense.  He guided her through most of the program, hoping she would be released soon enough but the person matching the woman.

The officer was pushing that she wasn’t the person who planted the bag and when they couldn’t keep her anymore longer, she was released without a charge, and walked into the last place that caused her downfall.
~~

She woke up realizing that she was in need to talk to Risa as she wanted to clear the air between them, but it had to wait two more days.  Ai waited patiently until she was called to the conference room where Ai and the two doctors were sitting at a white table each taking one side and Ai stared at Risa as her pale skin indicated she had not seen the sun for a long while.

“Hello Risa.”  Ai greeted the fellow patient as she nodded her head to acknowledge the other person.

The two doctors facilitated the conversation; however Ai was the only one talking.  She anticipated Risa to speak but she kept her lips shut tight.  The frustration grew until Konno poured a cup of water and Risa slid it to the edge.

“Why do you still want to greet me after what I did to you?”  She said with a low voice.

“Because… I still want you to know that I still want you as a friend.”  Ai explained.

“We can never be friends; I have no trust in you to believe in me anymore.”  Ogawa turned towards Risa as she put her head back down again.

Ai’s hand turned into a fist and stood up in front of her.  Risa looked up at Ai and smirked at her as Konno prepared herself to interfere.  For a few seconds, Ai was ready to knock some sense into Risa but something was holding her back, a voice instructing her that Risa wanted that punch against her as punishment, Ai went back to her seat seeing Risa had won the battle.

Ai walked out of the room as Konno followed her out and marched back to her room.  She was mixed with every emotion possible but it seemed that the battle was lost.  Ai was not ready to give up, however maybe a retreat was suitable for the situation.

@darkace: I'll take that advice but some stuff needs to be implied for continuance

Day 19-25

Risa felt the sweat run down her neck and wiped it with her blanket as she ran through the dreams while she was away from the world.  The isolation area gave her time to think about her actions although most of that time was to blame Ai for all her problems.

Her first dream was the day before she had met Ai.  She was studying for her exams and a boy had approached her.  He was five centimeters taller than her with straight, black hair, and an untucked uniform.  She remembered the name "Sho" but knew it wasn't his real name

She had a crush with his friend who already was with a girl at the time.  "Sho" knew about Risa's crush and decided to learn about her mannerisms to see if he had an opportunity.

Risa had become cautious of her abnormal outbursts especially when she was surprised and anticipated his movements.  He had thoughts of embracing her but couldn't get over the fact that she might not like him at all and just laid his books out to seem like he was studying.

"Risa-chan, how are you?"  "Sho" shouted out not noticing the quiet environment.

"I'm fine, how about you?"  She snickered as she wrote down another half page of notes waiting for his reply.

"I want to pass up on studying."  He held his hand over the back of his head as he smiled towards her but Risa was in her study mode.

Sho had always been known for shy demeanor and his polite style always brought girls over to manipulate him.  He enjoyed the attractive girls being around him but knew he would have no shot with them if he wasn't aggressive.

"Risa, I have been meaning to ask if you... and I could do something after exams?"  Risa turned her head and smiled.

"Sure.  You should study because I like smart males."  Risa replied with her mind on studying and Sho motioned to do the same.

A week later, they departed from their last exam and headed out to the city filled with youth.  Risa acknowledged him as a friendly outing but Sho had other things on his mind.  He treated her for dinner as he wanted to but his next step would require a little more courage.

"Are we going anyplace else?"  Risa asked as Sho felt the rubber in his pocket.

"I guess we can see a movie if you are interested."  She smiled and followed him until he stopped at the love hotel feeling the rubber again in his hand.

"I thought we were going to see a movie..."  Risa's face had concerned all over her face as he began to struggle between his conscience and his heart.

"Risa... my friend doesn't like you at all.  I want you to hear me out and please forget about him as a boyfriend."  He motioned to the bench where they both sat a foot apart from each other.

Risa began to see he was being honest and the pain within was going to earn him a broken friendship but he knew the cost would be worth her.  He reached deep into his pocket and threw the condom into the trash can.

"He only dates loose women, they have to be broken in to be his girlfriend.  Many classmates fell into his trap and once he hears about it, he will order a group to attack her."  Sho moved his eyes left and right trying to be aware of his surroundings.

"Thanks for telling me."  He reached out to grab her wrist and pulled her close to him.

"You were the only one I haven't told him about..."  Risa removed his hand and slammed her palm into his cheek.  She felt the bones in her hand adjust but her anger was reliving the pain in her heart.

She gave a stern look at him before walking off but he followed her until she was block from her home.  He bowed towards her with an apologetic look.  She wanted to chase him away but had to nod knowing that he was the one to protect her from his friend.

Couple days after the night out, Risa had heard about an incident at the bay.  A body was found floating by fishermen and taken ashore to see bruising and his hands and feet were chopped off.  The description matched Sho and evidently they had the memorial the following school year before she transferred.

The second dream was the realization of Ai's growing drug problem.  Risa had invited her cousin over to watch Aladdin.  Ai had left earlier in the afternoon to do a grocery run but hadn't returned when her aunt came with little Atsuko.  She was a big fan of Disney as her older cousin was and she popped in the DVD with the waning sun leaving the horizon.

Atsuko played Jasmine as she entertained Risa while they were watching the movie but Risa’s mind was weighing heavy on Ai and when she would return home.  Risa kept her eyes on the clock as every minute she would have to wait up would mean less time to spend with Atsuko, since she like Ai a lot.

Her cousin liked to rave about Ai, she wanted to be as cool as Ai but Risa knew how she was beyond the reality of her image.  Risa kept quiet as her eyes turned to the clock trying to avoid her concern for Ai.

At 11:00, Atsuko shut her eyes and dozed off without any resistance.  Risa heated up tea to keep her awake but with her eyes heavy; she gave in, and dozed off in the bedroom.  Ai stumbled into the apartment a quarter after one and jumped onto the couch where Risa’s cousin was sleeping.

A yell echoed throughout the room waking up Risa and ran into the living room with a broom.  Atsuko was holding her shirt as Ai rolled off from the couch pulling her shirt down.  Red with embarrassment, Atsuko ran over to Risa, and clamped onto her leg.

“What happened?”  She asked as Atsuko couldn’t stop sobbing and Ai on the floor bowing to her mate.

“I didn’t know Atsuko was sleeping, so I jumped onto the couch.  Atsuko rolled on top of me and I didn’t know my shirt was up.”  Ai bowed her head to the ground.

“Ai-chan smells.”  Atsuko held her hand up to her nose.

Risa could smell the alcohol in the room but that wasn’t the reason why she was bothered.  Atsuko saw the look on Risa’s face and headed into the bathroom.  Despite her age, she knew that sometimes she would go into the bathroom when papa and mama would fight.

Ai usually came prepared in battle but this time she wanted to surrender before the fight but Risa’s rage came like semi-automatic bullets.  Ai had no chance to fight back with the piercing coming deeper than previous and she felt laid out after her tirade.  Risa took the night to cool off with Atsuko by her side but she felt better after letting her frustrations out on her.

Ai left before Atsuko was picked up by her mother as Risa sat at the table with her head pressed down on the table waiting for Ai.  She was mixed with disappointment and sorrow while the day went by and in the afternoon, she returned home with a bagful of groceries.  Risa wasn’t warm as she usually was but she knew that Risa was eventually going to apologize.  Unfortunately, it took a few days to make Ai realize her mistake.

The next three days were normal around the facility with everyone attending the mandatory meetings.  Ai kept her distance from many of the other patients except Aki-chan who had been assigned as Ai’s buddy.  Despite the change in safety, the tension had been growing between Ai and Risa with talk of a fight a week after the meeting.

Konno had called for more security during visiting hours for the week and they were a crew that could easily break up a fight.  The doctor believed the rumor despite having reservations that there would be a fight but safety would trump all other concerns.

Then, the day before the expected fight, there was a change in the atmosphere with another new patient.  Everyone got a glimpse of her and returned back to their dorms waiting for the chance of another fight.  However, Risa had been sent to the infirmary complaining of stomach pains.  With many of the others complaining, Ai sneaked her way into the office, and sat down next to her.

“Gaki-san, hello.”  Ai greeted her despite the warnings from Konno days before.

“Why are you here?  Do you want to take me out that badly?”  She shook her head.

“The thing is I regret everything I did to you.  You need to understand that drugs were my enemy and in spite of your patience, I became understanding of how you feel.”

“Your explanation never will get you anywhere.  You were never there for me.”  Ai tilted her head downward.

“I know.”  She admitted.

“Then, why are you here?”  Her voice raised an octave as she winced holding her stomach.

“Because we need to bury this hatchet between us, even if you feel that we can never do that, you need to understand that you were also at fault.”  Risa sat up in offense to her statement and glared at her.

“It wasn’t the drugs.  It was your indecisive moment when you couldn’t stand being in the same bed when I was sober.”  Risa shook her head trying to block Ai’s words.

“I was never letting you close to me.  You made everything a living hell.”  She replied back as Ai waived the white flag.

“Atsuko knew the truth about us.  She never told anyone that we were together.  It was the reason why I avoided you while you were babysitting her.  She wanted us to be together but you left in frustration because of my partying, she visited me once, and she cried that you were an addict.  I refused to believe it until now.”  Risa slid back down into her bed as Ai exited the room and headed back to her dorm.

Three hours later, Ai heard a knock at the door.

“Atsuko grew up to be a beautiful woman.  She never gave up hope that I could win over but she never got her freedom to be a woman.”  Ai closed her eyes and knew something had happened.

“What happened?”  Ai asked.

“She was raped in front of the boys’ bathroom and had gotten pregnant.  She wanted to kill herself but I told her to have the baby because I never wanted to face my nemesis again.”  Ai nodded and let Risa into her room without intervention.

Hehehe, Kuro-sama! Now this is my first time replying on this fic lol and it's because its quite a touchy one but yeah I do like it. And the memories that cover the span of those ten years are evidence of the pain both brought on by drugs and the pain that drugs free you from. The causes are very real and the fic need that realism in the withdrawl scenes to put it on a whole 'nother lelvel. But yes I like it and I expect to see what happens as the first month comes to a close!

@Koei I think it will be fast moving already because of the time I stalled on this fic :nervous

Day 26-32

Aki-chan was becoming accustomed to Risa after the incident and thoroughly been explained the past relationship.  Although Ai blamed herself for letting the drugs run her life.  Risa echoed the same sentiment to Ai as the days went by.

Three days after that talk, they were able to have joint meetings together as they bounced off each other as partners would talk out their problems.  Then, as they returned to their dorms, there was a mysterious odor coming from the bathroom.  Ai swung the door open and held her hand up to her mouth as the guards came in and pulled someone out of the room.

"Aki-chan, what happened?"  Ai cried as she saw burn marks on her thighs.

"I don't know I went to the bathroom and then something flared up in one of the stalls."  She explained as Konno arrived to notice the injury.

One of the guards called an ambulance as Konno walked inside still filled with thick, white smoke.  Couple steps inward, she felt light headed and walked out trying to analyze the smell but the smoke was filling up the facility and Konno ordered an evacuation.

The guards surrounded the exit and managed the situation with the guests and patients as the smoke cleared within an hour.  Ai wasn't sure what that thing was that burned Akiko but it seemed dangerous enough to cause the damage.

Police arrived after the ambulance and investigated the bathroom while the people were escorted to the garden for lunch.  It was highly unusual for the patients to have lunch outside of the facility for safety and security concerns but it was permitted if the facility did have any hazards that would prevent them from eating inside.

Since the cafeteria couldn't make a proper lunch, food was brought from outside to distribute to the patients.  Everyone had a bento filled with grilled fish and vegetables although few rejected them because it was unusual for their diets.  However, Ai felt tight in her stomach after seeing the injury on her friend's leg.

With many concerns in her head, Konno had been encouraging the patients to eat as the police were beginning to piece the evidence together.  However, Ai hid her meal to deter Konno from her as she barely ate but Risa tried to tug it away from her.

"What are you doing?"  Ai asked as Risa was pulling at the box.

"I'm hungry."  The bean successfully took it out of Ai's hands and quickly ate the rest.

Ai exhausted from the battle, lay down on the grass thinking about how Aki-chan was doing and if she would manage to survive the burns.  She kept confident that she could pull through but was accepting that it could scar her for life.

"Takahashi-san, may I have a word with you?"  Konno asked as she was taken to the back where they could speak privately.

"I know you were close to Akiko and we would never suspect you of anything as a supervising party.  However, we need you to talk to them because you found her, be truthful about it, and I have faith that someone will be arrested."  Konno hinted with a smile as the police took her into the meeting room for questioning.

Ai answered their questions to the best of her abilities and talked about her friend's kindness as a way to indicate no one had ill feeling against her.  The police quickly ruled her out understanding that she was in a meeting before the incident, which also eliminated Risa from the investigation too.

The police thanked her for the time and walked back to the lawn where RIsa was lounging with the rest of the patients.  She sat down next to her with the others slowly being interrogated.  Few were held for other petty crimes that happened before their admittance but it was for information purposes outside of the clinic.

Once everyone was interviewed, the police found their culprit and took her off as the rest returned to their dorms with the smell slowly disappearing.  Since dinner wasn’t made for the night, they were given snacks from the fridge to hold over until the next morning.

Meals were slowly coming out because of further issues with the kitchen and a few days later, they were forced to bring in catering while the kitchen was being fixed.  Then, they found the problem under the stove with a bag of pills plugging the gas pumps and eventually sent it off to the trash.

Risa and Ai enjoyed the food but it was not comparable to the cafeteria food and was suffering for the two days they were forced to eat the bland food.  Although the group did protest about the food which led to more calls for the cafeteria and their prayers were answered when it reopened the day after the patients complained.

Ai never expected the whirlwind week to end but a few days later as she returned back from her session, there was a note on her door.  She scanned over it and looked over to her left where Aki-chan’s room was and quickly entered her room.  Ogawa saw the note and tore it off in anger.  She looked around the clinic for the person who put the note on the door but no one took responsibility.

Risa sneaked into the room and saw Ai sobbing as she periodically punched the pillow.  The younger woman kept her distance as she tried to figure out the problem and it hit her quickly.  Aki-chan had passed away.

The burn marks didn’t seem severe but the effects could have gone much deeper than they thought.  Risa rubbed the elder woman’s back as she couldn’t help but tear up about the situation.  She was a gentle friend almost to the end of her time but that was cut short because of the explosion.  The room suddenly went silent as Ai looked at Risa and quickly embraced her.

“Ai, this is horrible.”  Risa whispered.

“Aki-chan was kind to everyone, why does she have to go?”  Ai whimpered as she was halfway through her treatment.

“It was meant to be, it is unfortunate but Aki-chan left.”  Both started to cry out their frustrations with each other.

They were in no mood to calm them so they stayed in the room for the whole night as they pieced together a memory bank for her.  They wrote down statements about her and placed it on the floor until it created a small pile and they each read off every piece of paper to remember their fallen friend.

Hundred pieces were read off before placed into a bag and offered to Konno as a present for her family.  She announced that the funeral was in two days as her family would visit the clinic and discuss legal options against the person who set up the attack.

They were glad that it wasn’t going unpunished and explained that the person would probably be kicked out for life and sent to jail no questions asked.  Konno let everyone know that there would be a vigil for their fellow patient and each were mumbling a remembrance to ease their pain although many cared for her.

That night every person stood up and said a prayer for her safe journey to the next world as pain and suffering would be none.

@darkace more turns coming out but this one was more of a surprise than anything in reviewing my characters

Day 33-35

The day after the announcement a storm came by limiting the patients to indoor activities.  Ai and Risa stayed in their respective rooms until the daily joint meeting would be given for both of them.  Both walked side by side to the meeting room and no one was there to greet them.

"Where are they?"  Risa looked over at Ai as she was asking the same question in her mind.

The women walked over to the offices and noticed they weren't over there either.  Then, Ai looked over at the guards and ran up to them with long strides.

"Where are Dr. Konno and Dr. Ogawa?"  The guard shrugged their shoulders as there was noise below with people coming out of the room.

They watched the photographers flashed their cameras as the two doctors walked past them and up to the second level where the women were watching from above.  The swarm followed them until they went into their individual offices.  Ai glanced over at them and turned to grab Risa to avoid any unusual contact with media personnel.

"Do you think they might be in trouble?"  Risa asked as they were ten feet away from Ai's dorm.

"I don't know.  We may never know until they mentioned it during the meeting."  Ai began to think that the murder could be the reason for the media but didn't want to accept the faith quickly.

After a few hours of talking to each other in Ai's room, there was a knock on the door.  The storm wasn't giving any chance for sunlight and lightning started flash across the sky with the accompanying thunder.  Ai opened the door to a worn out doctor who had just awoken from a nightmare and let her inside the room.

"Afternoon to both of you, I want to talk about the new developments."  Konno said in a weakened tone as she put the glasses over her eyes and looked down at her paper.

"As you know, there is still an investigation going on over Aki-chan's death.  Despite having the suspect, we are being sued for malpractice in her name.  We had discussed that we haven't reviewed the evidence so liability concerns is still in the air."  Konno paused as she sipped from her coffee cup filled with tea.

"As doctors, we have little control over the patient's well-being or the visits of the patients' families, so we decided to change that drastically to protect everyone.  We will fit you with bracelets with monitoring capabilities and the hope is that we can avoid further accidents in the future."  The doctor removed her glasses and placed it on top of her head as she glared at both of them.

Ai smiled at her and gave her a hug as she started to swell over the concerns.  Risa followed up with another hug as Konno understood the feelings from both of them.

"I'm glad you are still here."  Konno nodded as she looked at her two patients.

"I feel the same when I heard about the accident and I wish I could have done more for her safety.  However, responsibility is everyone's concern and our lack of it will cost us dearly."  Ai stuck up her hand.

"We want to support the clinic and maybe talk to them that it wasn't a problem until that day."  Ai suggested as she looked over to Risa for support and she quickly nodded.

"It will be a problem if you guys are still here."  Konno had a pained expression as she looked at both of them.

 "Why?"  Risa asked.

Konno began to explain that as mental or rehab patients they will be down upon in the eye of the court and possibly even after the stint, it will bring further credibility problems to the clinic.  The doctor knew they would be great for supporting the clinic but that concern could overshadow other deeper concerns down the road.

"I see.  If we can help, please include us because Aki-chan never harmed anyone and the person who did it should get the full extent."  Ai hid her face as tears came flowing down again as Risa started to comfort her.

"I should be thankful for patients like you.  It makes Ogawa and me proud to be doctors and I will take up on the promise you guys made.  The guard will be here soon to fit you and if there are any issues please don't hesitate to call us."  The doctor bowed to them as the guard came in with the equipment and started to write down the necessary information for both of them.

After the fitting, they headed to the cafeteria for a late lunch and saw the place was empty from the lunch rush an hour ago.  They walked up to the counter and asked for the special which had enough for both to finish serving.  They grabbed their meal and headed to the first empty table.

They each looked at their new ankle bracelets and complained about it being plain and the options of decorating them if they could do it.  As they were ending their lunch period, they began to notice a woman leaning on the wall looking at the food area.

"Excuse me, are you waiting for food?"  Ai yelled out to her and she quickly headed for the exit as the cook was putting out jello for snack time.

Ai held up her pointer finger asking for one cup for the woman and the cook gladly let her take one for the road with the spoon inside.  They walked past the exit in looking for the woman and soon found her near Dr. Ogawa's office sitting down by the door.

"Hello, I was wondering if you wanted a jello cup."  Ai greeted her as she initially turned away from her.

Risa stood behind Ai as she offered the cup but she first took a swipe at it but she managed to keep it in her hand.  Ai stuck it out one more time but Risa managed to get her hand as she saw the dirty nails and let out a disgusting look but Ai got the cup into her hand.  She held the spoon in her hand and scooped it all into her mouth.  She presented a big smile with the gelatin slushing out of her mouth and sucked it back in there quickly.

"May I ask what your name is?"

 "Eri, Kamei Eri.."

"Hello Kamei, I am Ai and this is Risa.  We are patients too."  She nodded as she got up and threw the cup away.

Ai saw a few red bumps along her lower arm and the itching was causing blood to follow every time she scratched.  Blood was trickling down her clothing and she just wiped it up in front of them like it was no concern.  She was shy as they started to noticed and paranoid about the outside words that she feared having long walks around the facility.

Ai let Eri stand up and took her from behind to guide her to the nurse's office but she froze after passing a certain threshold and didn't want to budge which forced them to blind the turtle and rushed her over to avoid any more distractions.

The nurse cleaned up her cuts and bruises for the turtle as they were entertained with the countless facial expressions of pain.  Eri glanced over at Risa and gave her a strange look before walking up to her and pushed her lips onto hers.  Ai saw the Risa's face change as Eri was locked into her target and the bean pushed her away.

"We are even."  She said as she walked out of the nurse's office as Ai started to chuckle at Risa's expression.

"Ai-chan, you are going to get it if you say anything about this."  Risa held up her fist to the older woman as a threat but quickly cooled down after Ai started to stop her constant smiling.

The next morning, the clouds cleared up and the funeral proceeded as planned.  Most of the able patients were being wrangled into a special area where the guards surrounded them.  Eri sat next to Ai and Risa as they watched the box being placed at the mantle to start the service.

The crowd was quiet but the whispers were about the patients who were mostly out of their element but they stayed in their best behavior throughout the ceremony.  After the family had said their prayers, the patients did a group prayer as they all simultaneously bowed to the family and the deceased before being escorted back to the clinic.

Many of them went to the cafeteria for breakfast as the rest returned to their dorms.  Ai invited the two back to her room after the service and began to learn about Eri.

Eri was addicted to prescription drugs because of her rash but was unable to tell the right medicine because of her disorganization.   She took enough in a day that would automatically suggest a pump every day but it wasn’t until the rash got worst that they learned of the addiction and was given a choice to adjust or rehab which she chose rehab because it would give her a reason to eliminate the responsibility.

Risa was interested in the turtle’s mind as she tended to space out at the weirdest times and would smile  until she would return thinking that an alien had inhabited her body for that time.  Ai began to prod her at time when she would go into that mode once every hour.  Risa was the opposite and just watch her helplessly until she would return.

Lunch came upon the horizon after the staying in the room for a while and they all headed to the cafeteria with the dishes ready to be sent out.  They each grabbed their tray and took a seat in the corner as the crowd came in with hunger on their minds.  Despite the chatter, they poked into their personal lives and that’s when Eri learned about the two women’s past relationship.

Kamei bit down hard on her food when she brought up the delicate topic by accident but the itching was becoming uncontrollable and was admitted to the nurse’s office for observation.  It left the two staring at each other with exhausted looks on their face.

“Eri… didn’t mean to ask about that.”  Ai spoke in a low voice.

“She admitted fault so I hope she doesn’t take it personally but we can always…”  Risa paused midway and clamped her mouth.

“I think we can go back to our own dorms today.  Thank you for the company.”  Ai stood up and left before the bean could motion her move.

Ai knew it wasn’t going to mend in rehab and she began to think if it could stay together despite the past.  Risa was kind and helpful but her worrying bothered her.  That was the only flaw Ai had seen with the relationship and to accept it would take time and she had hoped that the time away would help them gathered their thoughts again.

The rain came back as soon lunch was over and the next thirsty-six hours were the gloomiest days in rehab and Ai rambled in her mind about Risa.  Every minute was to just apologize for the past and she needed to get over that hump.  Could the doctors help her?  She wasn’t sure but talking to them gave her fog about the situation.

Ai looked outside observing the dark cloud grouping up to cause havoc outside, she wished the weather would change soon but it was their relationship in real life.  The stormy period was short and ongoing at time but when the sun did come out it was back to usual for that time being.  However, when will it come back to the sunny day again.

@Darkace yeah the turtle although I was considering her as comic relief but she fits well as the alternative thinking

@Koei: I hope to deliver but I will wrap it up soon enough

@yellow: thank you for the thanks, I'm not sure how it will affect the story but if there is anything please send your response :)

Day 36-40

The first few days after the funeral were calm although the patients began their whispering about the frenzy after Aki-chan's death.  It only grew louder until a guy dressed in a suit walked up to the front desk and dropped off an envelope leaving a business card on top of it.

Ai saw the package at the front desk but froze as her curiosity grew about the envelope and watched it being delivered to Konno's office as she thanked her assistant and closed the door behind her.  Eri held her arm as she covered the rash that was forming below.

 "Do you what is that?"

"I'm not sure; it could be anything from court documents to attorney papers."  Ai began to theorize about the possibilities as Ogawa knocked on the doctor's door and she went into the room.

"Ai-chan, do you think we will be sent away?"  Risa asked as she saw the chain of actions happening in front of her and the rest of the patients.

The guards were becoming curious also as they looked up often at the door and the clinic had gone quiet for a moment anticipating at any time they would come out of the room.  The eyes watched the door for fifteen minutes before the PA system blared out a screech and requested everyone able to be at the meeting after lunch.

"It doesn't sound good."  Ai returned to her room with the phone ringing and picked it up before the third ring.

"Your session will be cancelled today."  Konno's voice had the sound of depression and hung up before Ai could ask what had happened.

As the lunch hour came, the people chattered up about the situation but the three decided to get their lunch and leave the cafeteria as the ideas started to flow about closing the facility.  Since they were restricted to go outside during lunch, they went back to Ai's room to discuss concerns within the small group.

"Is there a place we can go?"  Risa asked as Ai shrugged her shoulders.

"I have confidence that we can pull through this but they say it could be a losing battle."  She poked through her salad and shoved the greens into her mouth.

"Aki-chan never deserved to suffer like that... we should help them out."  Risa suggested as Ai glared at her for a bit and decided to go back to the scene.

Eri followed the two to the bathroom where Aki-chan had been burnt and looked in the stalls.  Ai placed herself back into the role of an addict and started to touch the floor around the toilet.  She managed to hit the trap door and flipped open a bag of marijuana stuck to the tile.  They all looked in awe as the bag was out in the open but they had to convince one of the doctors to come into the bathroom as they exposed the drugs.

"We need to get Konno and Ogawa here."  Ai said to the two women and closed the trap door; however someone needed to guard the stall if they were going to get the doctors here without anyone else taking the drugs and assigned Eri to watch over as Ai and Risa walked to the office.

Kamei locked the stall and stood over the toilet as she waited for them to return.  She never experimented with hard drugs and was never tempted to do them but something else caught her attention as she looked in the toilet bowl.  Below the rim, there was a pipe held with a metal piece, she touched it and felt the cold, wet feeling of the toilet water splashed onto the item.

She began to think about the day because she just had ointment rubbed on her and she was bandaged up to prevent any scratching as the smoke filled the clinic and the rush of people was by the bathroom as a woman was laying down outside.  Couple of them walked back without noticing the woman and they held something their hand and threw it into the cleaner's trash bag.  However, the police only had asked for an alibi as she tried to explain but failed to notice the item in her hand.  She bit down on her lower lip as she began to feel the guilt build in her that she started to cry unexpectedly.

"Kamei, what happened?"  Ai asked as Konno opened the trap door and Kamei lifted the seat up to notice the holder below.

"Can the police come?  I need to tell them something."  Kamei said in a semi-composed state.

Ogawa nodded her head and gave them a call regarding the case and they would allow a detective to the case to come to the clinic as Konno closed the restroom.  Closing the restroom meant that there was only two that the patients to go to and they filled up quickly at times.  However, it gave them breathing room to discuss further options with Eri speaking about the event.

Ai and Risa walked into the hall where the meeting was about to take place and saw Konno sitting down alone.  She looked around for a quick second before heading to the podium and the doors closed behind the patients.

"Good afternoon, I want to start by saying thank you to you for being patient as we go through this difficult time."  The chatter grew louder as Konno began to compose herself.

"As of now, we are not planning to close the clinic, however, the ability for Dr. Ogawa and me to continue treating patients are going to end soon.  We have considered turning in resignation letters if there is a verdict going against our favor but we will need to consider the options."  Konno paused again and looked up at the patients.

Konno nervously spoke through the noise and then ended with the decision to ship out half of the patients to other facilities.  She started to list down the numbers and instructed them to pack up to get onto the buses.  The mass left the hall to find notes on the doors indicating their departure from the facility.  Ai and Risa looked at each other as they weren't sent out but they had to wait for Eri to come out of interrogation to find if she was leaving or not.

A few minutes later, she walked to her room looking at the door and entered without noticing what was outside the door.  Ai ran over to see a question mark on the paper as Ogawa stood outside and ripped it off the door.

"She's staying.  We cannot let her leave when she held the piece about something being thrown into the cleaner's trash."

"Why didn't she say it from before?"  Ogawa shrugged.

"No one had asked her that question or assumed that she was being cleaned of her wounds."  Ogawa explained as Eri opened the door.

"I can hear you guys.  I'm not deaf."  Ai smiled as Eri walked into the cafeteria to get her usual afternoon jello cup.

Half of the patients left the clinic in a hurry with the buses exiting the grounds within half an hour but the rest were a mixed bag of severity.  Konno and Ogawa furiously talked to the detective about the paper work and found themselves a little less hot water than before but the case was wearing on them.

"The lawyers are going to be involved in this case, criminal and civil."  Ogawa mentioned as Konno tilted her head back in disgust.

"We can avoid the criminal case for now and concentrate on the civil case for a money amount..."  Ogawa shook her head cautiously.

 "What if..."

"They will have to accept the money because we just got the autopsy report.  We have to send this over to our lawyers."  Konno had a smirk on her face as Ogawa saw the cause and smiled too.

Eri began her habit to save the jello cups which irked the other two but it was something that the turtle had enjoyed doing as she tried to stay tidy.  However, Risa had turned into a mother and forced her to clean up thus throwing away the empty cups into the trash bin.

The night came and the once chattering mecca of women soon was a whisper.  They began to think about the ways they could help the doctors and hoped that they could take an idea from them to prevent anything else from happening.

Day 41

The doctors sent a fax of the autopsy to the lawyers and immediately received a phone call back with a few questions.  It was a conference for two hours before the lawyers gave them assurance that it would be done.  Konno walked out and breathed a sigh of relief as she headed for the meeting.

Ai and Risa were sitting in the room for their mid-morning meeting with the doctor still filled with questions about the situation.  The weather turned from sunny to overcast as the doctor walked into the room and closed the door behind her.

“How are you guys doing?”  Konno placed her book down on the table on her side as she scanned both of them.

“I have been okay.”  Ai asnered as Risa nodded.

“You guys have been good and with the fast progress we may release you in a week.”  The doctor pointed at Ai.

“I would like to thank you for helping me through this rough period.”  Ai grinned as she looked over at Risa who was trying to hide her disappointment.

Risa acknowledged that she would be left in the clinic for a few weeks but with Ai leaving soon, she began to wonder about when she would be released.  Risa kept herself positive throughout the session but that demon lurking in the back was starting come out.  As they approached the end, the bean put her head down as she started to release a for tears hiding her emotions for Ai’s release.

“Risa-chan, are you okay?”

“I’m fine.  It’s just…”

“I’ll wait for you.  Konno told me that groups work well in rehab so she will let me come back when you are having a tough time.”  Risa nodded slowly as she wrapped her arms around the younger woman.

They walked back to the dorm to their individual rooms as they usually would but Risa decided to keep her door open to see the outside as she tried to get her thoughts together.  Eri with jello cup in hand walked in with a spoon in her mouth as she saw Risa sputtering tears on her bed.

“Risa, why are you crying?”

“It’s nothing.”  Eri placed her jello cup down on the drawer and sat down next to the bean as she tried to extract the problem from Risa.

“It doesn’t look like nothing, please tell me because I hate seeing people cry.”  The turtle pouted as she lifted the bean’s head up and faced her.

“Ai… is almost done with her rehab stint.”

“Cool, she should be proud and you should be supporting her for almost getting to the finish line.”  Risa looked away as her tears flowed again and Eri smiled trying to keep the bean’s emotions from going downhill.

“I should be but I feel like I can only succeed if I have her here.”

“Ai did her time and now she can readapt to society out there.  Do you think she would need a partner outside?”

Risa paused as she heard Eri’s words and it made sense that Ai would face more ridicule outside of the clinic than in here.  Even if she felt ready for the world, she would be facing it as a former addict coming out of rehab.  Eventually, they would all face it somehow but the image of her walking out of the door seemed too unbearable to witness or stay composed for their final night together.

“I never thought about that.  She has always been stronger than anyone I used to know.  She was the shield among everyone.”

“Maybe you should consider guiding her back rather than sulk over her departure.”  Risa smiled as Eri picked up her jello cup.

“I will miss this when I return home.  Maybe I can ask for a pool of jello.”  Eri said to herself as she strolled out of the room.

Risa stepped out of her room and headed towards Ai’s room where she was looking out her window as she was changing her shirt.  Risa walked up from behind as she was tugging down at her shirt and felt the coil of the bean wrapping around her waist.

“Do you mind knocking?”  Risa dug her face into her back.

Ai waited for her question to be answered but she knew Risa was just trying to get the last contact before she left but she wanted to break it off before leaving.  Ai quietly pried her arms off her waist as she sat down on her bed leaving the bean paralyzed in the position.

“Risa… I know what I said but I want you to stay strong without think of me.”

“Why?”  Risa could only think that Ai was finally going to hammer her right now and it was up to here to make the move to decide if she could be strong.

“I feel that you only need me in spirit but if you cling onto me or if I do the same, I will never survive.”  Risa nodded as she headed for the door.

“Don’t think I will leave you again.  You are strong by yourself and if you can do that, I will be proud.”  Risa turned and gave her thumbs up as she exited the room.

Ai spent the night writing down her plans outside the clinic periodically thinking about Risa.  It was the battle between her words and her feelings.  She wanted to stay to comfort Risa but if she could let go for that short while, she could give her and Risa an opportunity to continue their relationship without restriction.

“Can you please open up?”  The loud knocking on the door distracted her from the list and opened to find Eri at the door with her blanket in hand.

“What are you doing here?”

“They needed to clean my room.”  Eri had a wide smile as she grabbed the extra bed from the closet and laid it on the floor.

Eri sat down on her sleeping bag as she watched Ai scribbling on her paper.  Ai glanced over a few times observing the turtle’s eyes as she wrote down the last goal before heading to her bed.

“I’m happy you are almost finished.”

“I should be but I cannot stop myself from thinking about her.”

“Risa knows that she will be alone but she loves you.”  Ai nodded.

“I know but I need to feel that she will not fail.”  Eri tilted her head.

“Confidence, anyways good night.”  Eri turned onto her bed and started to sleep leaving Ai to think about that word and slowly closed her eyes praying for tomorrow.

@yellow: here it is

Day 42

Ai woke up before the sun could hit her window and trying to feel a lump on the ground.  She stepped off the bed and headed for the door.  She opened to find the turtle with her back on the door and falling inside as Ai toured before the patients woke up.

The guards were in the middle huddled talking about their daily assignments and she went off to the cafeteria where they just opened for the early birds.  Luckily, it was just her entering and she saw all the bowls of dry cereal lined up nicely in a row as she decided for one near the end of the line and showed it to the worker.  Ai grabbed the milk pourer and got enough milk to saturate the cereal but not to make it soggy.

She dug out the first spoonful of cereal and shoveled it into her mouth as she quietly munched away.  It was blissful to have the cafeteria to her early in the morning but it would end soon as she glanced at the time.  She got two more spoonfuls into her before another patient had walked in to grab her cereal and took a seat on the other side of the room.  Ai glanced over waiting if she would wave or not but instantly turn back to her cereal.

"You're up early."  A voice startled her as she had a mouthful of cereal in her mouth.

Before she could reply, Ogawa has taken a seat next to her as she observed her eating.  Ai cautiously moved the spoon around the bowl before getting another spoonful into her mouth as the doctor closed her eyes for a bit.

"You'll be released in six days."  Ogawa stated as she rubbed her eyes and stared back at her.

 "I see."

"However, you'll be in a halfway house for three months before being released back into the real world as a rehabilitated woman."  Ai stopped crunching her cereal as she realized that there was a step more to the procedure.

"Is there a problem?"  Ai shook her head.

"Anyways, when you get released into the halfway house you'll need to report to the house manager.  We don't know who that might be but we will try to get you into a less involved house."  Ai tilted her head.

 "Less involved?"

"Many of the halfway houses are relapse victims only to be sent back into the clinics to get cleaned and redo again.  We are trying to break the habit so we have insisted on a new house to get the people straightened out."  She explained as another person took a seat with their bowl.

"I see.  It seems you are not confident in me to succeed."  Ogawa shook her head.

"It is not confidence but strength within you to carry on.  Confidence can carry you so far before people can tear you down but if you have strength, you can push through."  Ai nodded.

"I guess you expect a tough battle to fight.  It seems reasonable to think that way."  Ogawa placed her hand on top of the patient's head and left the cafeteria before the crowd started to populate the room.

Ai slurped up the milk before dropping the bowl into the dishwashing area and returned to her room where Eri was still sleeping.  She woke up as Ai tried to step over her causing her to body slam on top of the turtle.

 "ITAI!!!!!"

"Why are you blocking the door?"  Ai yelled as Eri rolled into the room.

"You walked into my room."  Ai slanted her eyes.

"Oops, sorry about that Ai-chan.  I thought I was back in my room."  Eri nervously smiled as she climbed onto the chair as she nursed her arm.

Ai looked outside at the overcast skies as the sun was trying to fight through to get it sunlight in.  She shook her head as she couldn't believe that there could be more trouble beyond the clinic.  Eri watched Ai's expression and tried to extract the information but failed to gain anything from her and sat there as Risa saw her friend with a defeated expression.

"Ai, what's wrong?"  Risa asked as she looked over at Eri who had her palms facing upwards.

After a few minutes, Risa took a seat and grabbed her hand as she caressed it for a bit before Ai pulled it away in anger.  Her cold eyes stared at the bean as she turned back to the window seeing the raindrops falling onto the pane.  Risa wanted to reach out again but seeing her partner angry, she left the room overly concerned for her.

Lunch period came and went as the rain came down swiftly and eventually it stormed for a period before the sun came back out and Ai lay down on her bed keeping the door open.  Risa sneaked out her lunch to give it off to Ai as she still looked frustrated over something and decided to face her.

"Whatever is wrong, you have to tell me.  It isn't good to keep yourself silent without telling anyone."  Risa spoke to the ceiling trying to gain her attention and Ai finally let out her concerns.

"I have to go to a halfway house."  She said in a soft voice.

Risa gave a puzzled look and asked to repeat the statement.  Ai said it louder as Risa wrapped her arms around her and gave her a hug.  However, the bean was still not registering why she was saddened and tried to think what other concerns were on her mind until Konno came in and gave her an envelope.

"We tried to get you a place where there was little reported activity but we couldn't get you there so I hope this would be sufficed."  Konno bowed as Ai opened the paper.

Risa caught Konno to ask why Ai was feeling miserable and the doctor explained about the process and the risk of relapsing was high going that path but it had been recommended.  The bean looked down as she thanked for the explanation and closed her eyes to digest the information.  A few minutes later, she returned with a smile on her face.

"I didn't know it could happen.  I wonder if I may face the same path."  Ai nodded confidently.

"Most likely but you have the stronger will to move on."  Risa lifted her hand up.

"No, I wanted to be that but I can't.  It would hurt everyone if I was strong.  I can pretend but it won't end up showing because my strength is my friends here."  Risa explained as she grabbed Ai's hand again.

"If your fear is that you may lose, then get rid of it.  You can win the fight.  I believe you and everyone else does.  Just find the help you need to survive and then you can face the world without fear."  Risa squeezed Ai's hand as she tried to pep up her spirits.

Ai heard Risa's words but something was telling her that the risk could be too dangerous for her to last that long but if she could get past the first days; it could be a slow climb.  It was thought to her that it will take baby steps to achieve any goal and she had to listen to everyone's encouragement before any person could take her down with them.

"Thanks."  Ai mumbled as she hugged the bean.

"Why is there so much noise outside?"  Ai asked as she saw a crowd around a television.

The crowd was in frenzy as the news talked about a patient's death in the rehab clinic.  Ai and Risa knew who they were talking about and the news had the autopsy report.  Ai looked over at the doctor's offices with their doors shut and blinds covering the windows.

"They sent it out to confirm the truth."  Ai said to the bean as Eri came running up and explained the report.

Her system had THC particles in her lungs but the cause of death was the person had sprayed her with hot tar causing immense burns on her body.  The injuries were later complicated by infection caused by the burns and later succumbed to it.  The liability of the clinic was now cleared of any wrong doing for the case.

"Aki-chan... why..."  Ai said to herself as she closed her fist and let out a loud grunt that caught the attention of the people below.

"Ai-chan, I think Konno and Ogawa need to explain themselves."  Risa suggested as Ai went back to her room and began to punch the pillow.

She truly never thought Aki-chan had drugs in her system at her death.  She fought hard only to lose at the end.  Ai began to wonder if it happened to her what she would do.  It seemed her freedom was farther away and the little steps were not going to cut it but with six more days, she had to re-plan all her ideas and dreams to fit three months more of torture.

The hope was now dimmer than before.

@yellow: maybe? :lol:

Day 43

5 days

Five days until she was going to be transferred to the halfway house.  She felt handcuffed in the situation but she opened up her concerns for one last time and was assured that she would have outside contact with an agent.

Ai was desperately trying to stay in her normal routine but someone would always congratulate her for getting through the program.  She kept herself distant from mostly everyone for the day but that night, she began to feel a chill in the air.  She couldn’t put her finger on it but within the patients, they were ready to expose a plan.

Eri and Risa were also feeling the chill and headed over to Ai’s room to talk and they all looked up at the clock and it just past seven o’clock.  Ai didn’t feel safe so she locked her door to prevent anyone from coming in and they waited inside as the crowd was growing outside.

The three stood in the room as the crowd was getting louder and then a gun went off causing the lights to go off.  Ai grabbed onto Risa leaving Eri to slide under the bed as the battle outside was growing and the clashing between the patients and guards was chaos outside.  The voices were melding together and the fighting was growing until a bomb went off with marbles piercing through the door.

There was silence for five minutes before they heard another set of people yelling to get down.  The couple sat in the corner with their eyes on the scared turtle as they started to corral people outside their door.  Ai crawled over to Eri to pull her from under the bed but she resisted at first but gave in as they sat in the corner anticipating a knock.

However, they broke down the door and a man grabbed Ai’s hand as they followed her out and they saw the people roped up on the floor as Konno and Ogawa were looking on as they talked to the police.  The three were packed into a car and were off to the police station.

Ai and Risa began to wonder why they were going to the police station but being there was a fear that Ai didn’t want to face.

“Why are we going here?”  Ai asked the officer.

“The clinic needs to be cleared out so we will take you here for the time being before transferring to another clinic.”  He explained as they all looked at each other.

The long ride being cramped in the back was taking a toll on Eri as she tried to fit into between the door and Risa.  As Risa tried to calm the turtle down, Ai saw the police station to her right and closed her eyes as they pulled into the parking lot.

The officer wrapped their wrists with a plastic band and escorted them into the holding cell as they made a few calls to Konno and Ogawa indicating they were away from the clinic.  Ai took a seat on the bench and was approached by a tall woman with long, black hair.

“Hello, what is your name?”  She asked innocently as Risa wedged between them.

“I’m Ai, this woman is Risa and the one by the door is Eri.”

“Nice to meet you, I’m Chun Li.   You can call me Jun because that is my Japanese name.”  She extended her hand as Ai shook it.

“What are you here for?”  Risa asked as Ai moved down a bit to let the bean sit comfortably.

She explained that she visiting from China and was caught in a demonstration of Chinese nationals asking for release of a wrongly accused prisoner.  As Jun stepped up into the crowd, the police had herded the protestors and sent them to separate stations but the language barrier caused a problem to get her out.  She began to ponder if she could get out but there had to be a call to release her on good terms.

“Such a sad story.”  Risa commented while Eri sat on the other side of the Chinese national.

“I’m currently waiting for a lawyer to translate my pleas, how about you guys?”

“We… are rehab patients.”  She nodded as Eri walked up to the front.

“I never met rehab patients outside of a clinic; did you guys do something criminal?”  The duo shook their heads.

“We were removed when the riot ended.  I don’t know what will happen after this.”  Ai looked around as they noticed the moon outside.

She never knew how bright the moon was on this night.  It was bigger than usual but in a room that was less comfy she wanted to know what was going to happen next.  As she turned toward the door, a guard was present and escorted the three out of the cell as they waved bye to Jun.  They walked down the corridor to separate rooms as Ai was sent into the middle room where Konno and an officer were sitting across of her.

“Ai-chan, I know you knew about the riot.”  She shook her head.

“Why was your door closed before it started?”  The officer stepped in with the question.

“I had a weird feeling something was going to happen and I asked Risa and Eri to come with me.”  She explained.

They looked at each other for a brief second before heading outside for a quick meeting.  Ai never saw something plain in her life.  It was cold but she could manage that but in such an open space it was eerie to be under interrogation.  As she closed her eyes, they entered back into the room with a straight expression.

“If the two mates admitted you were behind this, what would you say?”  The officer asked as Konno was showing concerned expression.

“They would say I wouldn’t know about it, even if I was leaving, I wouldn’t start the riot over any digressions throughout my stay.”  Konno hinted a smile as the officer still didn’t feel convinced.

“Do you think it was the release of the report?”  Ai nodded.

“I wouldn’t know for sure but there was a ruckus after the report and when I learned of it, I was in disbelief.  I felt in my opinion, she was forced fed.”  Konno glanced to the officer and he stepped outside leaving the two women alone.

Konno stared at Ai for a few seconds as she began to see what was beginning to form in her mind as she felt that it could’ve been the case.  However, it was her intent to state the situation and looked at her to give her the news.

“We will transfer you to a new facility to finish up the rehab stint or start your time in the half-way house.”  Ai took a deep breath and looked down at the table.

“I want to go to the half-way house.”  Konno nodded.

“Before I get packed up, I want to say good bye.”  Konno smiled.

“You don’t need to, we found a place where all three of you can finish up your stints.”  Ai’s jaw dropped as she began to realize that they could leave together.

Ai stepped out of the room with the other two women with smiles on their faces.  They returned back to the clinic to do their packing and were boarded onto a plane.

Day 44-45

The trio arrived at the airport with their carry-on bags and was greeted by a blonde-haired woman with a collared shirt and slacks.  She told them to board a bus as she followed them and the bus went off without asking for directions.

“You should know you are in Fukuoka.  You three are on specialized release from the clinic.”  She stated as they exited the airport and went on the main road.

“Half-way house?”  Ai asked as she nodded.

“You can say that but we call it specialized release because of the police supervision.  Konno had mentioned that all of you are non-violent so we need to separate them.  However, there have been cases where people escape but we have fixed them with more guards.”  She explained as the three were starting to feel chilly.

“Can it be assured that we can be safe?”  She nodded confidently.

“Konno has sent people here and have left clean, so we have a confident record.”  The three nodded as they drove past a gate and took a right to another secure area.  The bus stopped in front of the doors and was escorted out into an empty room.

Ai looked around the room and it had an odor that bothered her, she closed her nose as the blonde woman closed the windows and opened the lights.  The three sat around a round table as they were handed out a list of rules to live by for the next couple of months.  She had assured them that they would have a clear line of communication and in case of emergency they would meet here away from the violent group.

“If there are any more questions, there is a number that I can be reached by and don’t hesitate to call me.  By the way, I’m Yoshizawa Hitomi, everyone calls me Yossie and I am the coordinator at this camp.”  The three bowed to her and exited the room to go to their separate housing lined up in a row.

“Yossie, are we the only three here?”  She nodded.

“We can only allow so many to be here so we take a few at a time until the next group would come in and take your places.”  She told them as they said goodbye to each other.

Ai was alone again but it was open than the clinic.  She jumped on the bed and spread out on the bed as she closed her eyes but the sound of whistles kept her awake.  She looked outside the window to find a group of people on the other side of the fence.  She ducked below the window and listened to the group whistling to them.  It sounded louder with every second it went by and eventually it stopped.

Ai looked outside again and they were by the near fence as they started to climb over and she grabbed the phone but there was no dial tone.  She began to panic as they were approaching their camp and decided to look up again seeing three people coming their way.

“What should I do?”  Ai asked herself as she crawled towards the door and rushed out to meet the group before approaching their houses.

In the front was a short woman with pigtails and was escorted by a tall woman and a skinny woman with the same color hair as the front person.  Ai walked a couple feet before they stopped and the front woman signaled Ai to come closer.  As she paced towards them, the familiar face from the past came into her sight and stood ten feet away from them.

“We meet again.”  She said with a smirk on her face.

“Tanaka Reina.”  Ai mumbled as her smile grew bigger.

“Drugs were small compared to what I have now.  I have protection now because the yakuza bosses respect me.”

“What did you do?”  Reina ran her finger over her throat.

“How many?”  She held up three fingers.

“Well, I can blame you for my addiction.”  She smiled as she sent the skinny woman first to face Ai.

Ai had no clue how to fight but being in the situation, she hesitated before the woman made her move by charging towards her.  Ai sidestepped the first charge and turned to face her again as she saw the orange ball coming towards her again and threw her to the ground.  She rolled away and got back on her feet with a knife in her right hand as she presented in front of her.

She knew she was in big trouble without a weapon and just played calm until she could find something to defend herself with and dodged a few stabs before grabbing a pipe.  With one swing, she slammed the woman’s face causing the knife to fly far away towards her direction.  The tall woman came towards her as the pipe was her only defense and she tried to power her over with her hands.

Ai managed to get the pipe out of her grasps and swung towards the left knee.  She screamed out in pain as she went down onto one knee.  Ai took a step back to ready for the finishing blow without noticing the skinny woman had recovered and grabbed the weapon from behind as the tall woman threw a straight punch to her gut.

“Jun get up.”  Reina yelled out as she hobbled out of the way and came closer to Ai.

“Miya get out of the way.”  She yelled out her final command before facing her eye to eye.

“Ai, you cannot stay safe all the time.  Yossie knows this so if you think you can trust her, you have to consider another option.”  Ai tried standing up but Reina delivered another blow to her gut.

“Stay down.”  Reina ordered as Risa and Eri were watching her from afar.

“I will not let you win.”  She breathed as Reina kicked dust towards her face.

Reina smirked at the statement and walked away without acknowledging her again.  Risa and Eri carried Ai back to the room where they talked to Yossie.  Ai’s face was filled with grimace as Yossie came running in with a first-aid kit.

“Reina?”  Ai nodded.

“She has control over the other side but she is deceiving to get to this side and start picking on people.  No one has been able to take her down.  Luckily, we have many people lasting throughout the period.”  Ai started to walk toward the door holding her midsection.

“I won’t leave until she goes down.”  She winced again and was taken to the infirmary for more rest.

Ai spent the night and the next day sitting down to plan out her attack on Reina but bigger concerns started to weigh in as she wanted to also protect Risa and Eri from her wrath.  Then, she remembered the first meeting as she was working up and gave her the first bag.  It seemed little at the time but she didn’t expect that it would grow to a bigger role.

“Reina has deep connections.”  Yossie delivered a cup of water.

“I would figure so, how can I beat her?”  Yossie let out a laugh.

“Why?”  Ai looked up and began a thought.

“Because if I beat her, I can eliminate the demon that sent me here.”

“Well… good luck.”  Yossie walked away as she shook her head.

@yellow: how will they affect the story?  I'm not sure yet

Day 46-52

Ai knew she had to react soon when the herd would come over to other side to just taunt them as Ai looked at them from the infirmary.  Yossie had seen enough of the intrusion and added barbed wires to the top of the fence to protect them from climbing over.  For extra security, she had guards manning the fences to prevent anyone from being close to the fence.

The other group stared at the new security set up for five days before launching another approach when they shifted guards.  Unfortunately for them, their timing was thrown off because they randomize the timing everyday causing them to be surprised in the middle of the night of the attack.  Reina looked across and knew that they would need a much more elaborate plan to get over.

On the sixth day, Ai got released from the infirmary and headed back to her house as the ideas were being listed one by one on the paper.  She had a few ideas to distract the leaders on the other side of the fence.  As she looked around, there were many marbles and pebbles scattered around their side and she started to collect them.  Her box was filled instantly with the items and wrapped it up with paper.

Skillfully during her stay in the infirmary, she had found a fully pressurized CO2 canister and stuck it in the box with a trigger to release the canister.  She had hoped that they would shake it before activating the trigger but she had the backup plan with releasing the gas slowly inside.

Ai walked into the mail room and dropped it off in front of the door.  She quickly wrote down Tanaka’s name on the box and left without anyone noticing her.  She returned to Risa’s house with a smirk on her face as Eri was sitting on the floor looking up at the bean.

“Ai-chan, how are you feeling?”

“I’m good for now, they got me good.”  Ai smiled as she took a seat next to Eri, who was staring out in space.

“Have you eaten lunch in the hall?”  Ai shook her head as she looked toward the other side of the camp.

She had wondered if anyone had done it before.  It would be great if it did work and it was at any moment the box would explode.  She quietly listened outside as Risa and Eri were talking to each other and then out of nowhere a poof of white came from a distance.  The alarms had gone off and Ai ran back to her house to follow the lockdown rules.

Yossie came to each of them explaining the situation and as she arrived at Ai’s house, she was anticipating something had happened.  She walked in and took a seat across of Ai as the white smoke dissipated into the sky.  She looked over at the blonde-haired lady with a smirk on her face.

“Someone sent a box and it exploded on the ground on the other side of the camp.”

“Okay.”

“Every prisoner ducked as the shrapnel hit them.  A few minor injuries were reported.”  Ai nodded her head.

“However, Reina is pissed off because she was in the middle of her speech.”  Ai clapped her hands together in amusement.

Ai wasn’t surprised but to get under the prisoner’s skin as long as she was here.  She looked outside again as the rumbling started between the guards and the violent prisoners.  Yossie looked outside shaking her head as the incident wasn’t going to blow ever so easily.  She left after the lockdown was called off and Ai grabbed the crumpled piece of paper to look at the second one.

The second task was going to be harder but it seemed possible with the janitor.  The janitor was the mule for the other side and had threatened to talk to Yossie about the situation and he agreed to follow through without any questions.  The janitor had a connection to getting marijuana for Reina and her gang and Ai had asked to get them a little less than what they asked for and hold the rest to plant it in another cell.

The janitor thought Ai was crazy and went on his way to get the drugs.  However, the janitor didn’t know that Yossie was aware of the drugs and when he went out the door, she got the guards to see if the janitor would get the drugs.   The guards were also into the act so Ai was playing into the fire pit with everyone.  Her only chance was Yossie but it would take a miracle for her to see it for herself.

Slowly, she began to see the second of her list to go down and she began to worry that if they spilled the beans to Reina, she would be dead instantly.  However, she saw the janitor again past by her again without looking at her direction and headed toward the other side.  As he approached the first gate, Ai heard two shots and looked outside to find the guards watching over his body.

“We will do next set later on.”  Ai said as she sat on her bed waiting for people.

“Did you hear the shots?” Ai nodded.

“They shot the janitor, it must be what he had in his container.”  Ai said in a calm voice.

“I guess so.  Shall we eat dinner?”  Ai nodded as Eri who was patiently waiting outside led the way to the dining hall.

The trio walked to the dining hall and took a seat behind a cage that separates the violent patients from the non-violent patients.  They usually stagger the times but Reina managed to get past through security and saw the three sitting together while they waited for dinner.

“The janitor was a decoy.”  Reina stated.

“I know he was, unfortunately he was the mule.”  Reina smirked.

“Whatever you have left, will not take down what I built up here.”  Risa looked at Ai as Reina tossed the CO2 container towards them.

“My intention is to expose you and that has been accomplished.”  Reina walked away still irritated from the events.

As they got their meals, they sat down prepared for any attack.  They ate quickly and returned back to their individual houses before the sun went down.  Yossie called for a curfew because of the events and the three sat in the dark as the other group started their march over from the other side.

The guards were letting them through without any resistance and they approached their side easily.  The sound of chatter filled the air before a red flash ran through the sky.  The group was in disarray with the flare and threw the gasoline around the ground and lit the gasoline surrounding the group.  For two hours, the patients were trying to escape but only few tried to a flaming death.

The fire died down when Yossie decided to douse the fire with the hose and chased them to the other side.  She finally saw what everyone was talking about and immediately fired the guards to hire replacements.  She had hoped that they would be more obedient than the previous group.

Ai woke up the next day seeing the circle on the ground.  She laughed at it as it was a failed attempt to finally get back at her but she felt that Reina will come back strong.  Ai walked over to Yossie’s office and told her that she maybe targeted next and it led to the third item.

“Yossie move to another location.”

@yellow it grows darker but it may be a reason

@maike we keep on going updating until its done

Day 53-54

Ai wasn't sure if there was an attack on Yossie or if they found a connection, but she was willing to save one life rather than risk the damage of others.  She moved into an empty house next to Ai as they waited for Reina's next move, the clock started to tick and it went into the afternoon with no change in sight.

Eri and Risa were on edge with the impending action by the group and never felt the urge to settle into one spot.  They paced between their houses with empty stomachs with Ai's warning to stay away from the cafeteria.  The two were at their bit of strength before Ai approached them with a bag filled with snacks.

"How did you get these?"  Ai smiled and pointed toward Yossie's house.

"She thanked me for taking the time to help her out of the office."  Ai walked back to her house as she heard an explosion behind her.

The thunderous boom alerted the four to the cafeteria as it began smoking from the building.  A fire had emerged from the explosion as Ai watched carefully the person walking away from the site.  A petite figure with a torch in her hand got through the gates and returned safely.

She recognized the shape through the smoke and knew the target would have to be there to check on the dinner but luckily was out of the way.  However, it left them with no hot meals for the time being.  Ai knew their intelligence was more sophisticated and if they did something hastily, it would be their doom, so she had to do the one thing.

Night came quietly with the fire slowly burning at the building.  She had to call Konno for assistance but knowing that they did bug the phone.  Yossie retrieved a phone to get a direct call to Konno.  It took a while to get a connection but when it connected, it worked clearly, and Yossie explained the situation.

Konno hesitated to make an agreement but was preparing for a visit to check out the place with news about the clinic.  They were expecting her to come around morning and decided to rest for the night.

The sun beamed through the open hole in the house and awoken Ai from her slumber.  She rubbed her eyes before seeing Konno with a shoulder bag and another woman behind her.  Before Konno started her speech, the woman stepped in front of her and flashed her badge to her.

"I'm Goto from Tokyo police.  I was brought here because of the incidents in this camp."  Yossie walked into the room bowing to both of them as they took a seat across of the two.

The policewoman sat straight up looking around the room as she attended to the situation before setting her eyes on Yossie.  She took out a picture of a woman and Ai instantly pointed her out and the other two were unknown to her but Goto could confirm an identity.

"She is undercover for us."  They both looked at each other.

"Isn't she leader for the yakuza?"  Ai asked as Goto smirked at her with her fingers on the other two photos.

"She has been reporting to us since last year.  She has been able to figure out the culture of that side so she had to put a façade up to conceal her identity.  It is also reason why I'm here."  Goto removed the photos off the table.

"Reina has everything in her hands so do not get in her way.  She has explained to me your relationship with each other so you can stop sabotaging the missions."

"I was trying to reveal Reina to the other side, she was a small-time drug dealer."  Goto let out a laugh.

"You are exactly correct and it is reason why we got her in the first place.  She was connected to everyone in the business.  The gangs as they fight for territory she was supplying them with everything possible only to get caught."  Ai finally understood why she was trying to keep her quiet.

"She is also responsible for Kimura Kuniko, the wife of the Kimura gang leader.  He got her in here for a plea bargain and a lot of money for a crime she didn't commit."  Her eyes bulged out.

"Didn't commit the crime?"  Goto nodded as she took a deep breath.

"Takenori, her husband, was fooling around with a younger woman and she found out.  The woman in rage slammed a lamp over his head and ran out of the room.  She chased her down the stairs and stole her clothing before kicking her out of the house.  Takenori, guilty in his act, had asked for forgiveness but she never agreed to and planted the assault on her."

"She could have not accepted the plea bargain, right?"  Goto nodded.

"If she wasn't deeply in love with him, but she forgave him because she has a son on the way."  Yossie and Ai both looked at each other in confusion.

Then, Konno pointed her finger up and knew why she had forgiven him.  The two were still looking at each other until Goto know they had no idea what Konno was getting to.

"She will be head if Takenori goes down."  Konno blurted out.

Ai was still trying to link the pieces but the beat down from Reina still irked her inside.  She wanted to get back at her for the abuse but she thought that if Goto is right, everyone could be after her.  Then, Goto's phone started to ring and a smile came upon her face as she listened to the message and told her about the situation on this side of the camp.

Five minutes later, she hung up and got out of her seat.

"I'll leave you with Konno."

She left the room leaving the doctor with Yossie and Ai, who were becoming well aware that they are in deeper than they thought before.  Konno laid out the rebuilding pictures and explained the riot caused little damage but not enough to close it for good.  Ai was happy that it could still be useable but she still had questions for Goto who was feeling the breeze outside.

"Goto told me about the whole story and I began to see if there was anything I could do but unfortunately, we have to keep it this way."  Ai nodded while Risa and Eri greeted the doctor leaving Ai to talk to Goto one on one.

She approached her from the back and tapped her shoulder as she turned back to find Ai desperate for attention.

"She told you about what I was doing?"  Goto smiled.

"Childish stuff but I also know a little history about you too."  She tilted her head as Goto placed her hand on her shoulder.

"Couple years ago you bought drugs from me through other people in the community but I never knew you were an addict too."  Ai tilted her head downward.

"I couldn't help it if you know what I went through."  She scoffed at the remark and showed her arms and midsection.

"Every abuse known to man from my uncle.  He raised me from when I was little and he did everything to me.  When I was ten, I was raped by him and his friends.  The next year he celebrated with the same type of party until I passed out.  It wasn't until I was sixteen that I got away from everybody."

"I'm sorry to hear about that."  Ai bowed towards her.

"I never liked speaking about it personally.  After a while outside, I began my spree of mischievous deeds to just survive until one night in jail changed me to a new woman."

"I see at least you found that light."  Goto smirked.

"The hard way but at least I can say I went through it."  She placed her hands on her head as she looked at the midday sun.

"Reina is now my life.  She is an experiment that could explode on me soon enough but if she pulls through without her head being chopped off, she will be helping us more in the future."

"Is she your patient?"  Goto shook her head.

"She is my lover.  I brought her in after she got into trouble and helped her to get out of the hole.  One day we just hit it off talking about our lives and in bed."  Ai snickered at the final part of the statement.

"Well, I guess I'll do my part."  Goto saw Konno stepped outside the houses and left them with more about Reina.

@yellow you read enough of my fics maybe sniper girl will be of use

Day 55-56

The patient's mind started to swirl over the fact that Reina was part of law enforcement.  Especially, staring at her lover's eyes, it was hard to admit Reina had gone over to the good side for once.  She still felt the rage boiling inside at what had happened years earlier that she closed her eyes for a bit to rest on the idea.

"Reina, did you grab my water?"  The raspy, feminine voice called as the former drug dealer came running with a bottle.

"Sorry, I'm late."  She replied feeling her heart pumping too fast for the situation.

Reina knew what her mission was but something in her was driving her to kill the woman.  She knew how high of ranking authority she was by herself as a daughter of a drug lord.  But, the Kimura family was driven to fight the top groups and the connections with the marriage, only made their bond stronger with other smaller groups in the Kanto region.  Reina had done hundreds of hours of research before taking this job but didn't consider Kuniko's attitude.

The agent had no background on Kuniko until a tip given to her by an unknown person brought out her one flaw: women.  She wasn't curious or wanting a sensual relationship, it was all-night torture.  She preyed on young women who had major break-ups and were in the bar drinking their lives away and she would approach them for a talk.  Kuniko loved the date rape drug and slipped one into their drinks to knock them out but she disliked the dirty work.

A man would come in disguised as a bouncer to escort her to the backroom.  If the bouncer had time to spare, she would strip off their clothes and wouldn't go any further as they would face her wrath.  She would enter the room prepared for the victim and watch her wake up tied up to the ceiling.  As she described to Reina, she disguised her voice to be a male and wore a mask for good measure.  After the event, she would leave as the bouncer would charge in to save her.

It was going great until a new cop had popped up on the force.  Her eyes went straight for the new cop thinking she was a heartbroken soul and sat down next to her with a drink.  Kuniko hadn't considered the occupation within their talks and wouldn't do it this time as the new cop was clued in early.  She asked the waiter for a new drink as it wasn't what she ordered and headed toward the bar.  Shocked, Kuniko followed her and closed in on her backside.  Once she fell into the trap, the new cop called in the reinforcements and the camera was on the bar as they clearly caught her.

While the events were unfolding in the club, another cop had entered into the backroom with all the evidence in front of her.  She slowly packed everything into the duffle bag without noticing the bouncer on duty.  She stood up only to hear a pop.  She fell like a bag of bricks and the bouncer tossed the bag into the dumpster.

The trial was short and sweet only with a rehab stay for drugs, but with a condition that she stayed there for three year minimum.

Kuniko never forgot her face and fantasized making her suffer for her pain in here.

Being in the camp was a new experience for her as she had full control over everybody.  The younger woman would pass by her and get their daily dose of pleasure while the older ones tended to avoid her sight.  The guards were controlled by her as they would receive one girl for a good deed; she knew how they were hungry for any girl.  Her only rule was no self-pleasure.

The one woman who disobeyed her was given a lesson in front of everybody.  She was a great listener and the one who got caught was moaning loudly causing her to wake up.  The next morning, the person in the cell next to the rule breaker told her that she was desperate for another night and couldn't handle being shunned time and time again.  Kuniko presented her lesson with the sleeping drug and saw her arms off while wrapping a blanket around her neck.  She held a weight on the other side with her detached arms within her sight.  Once she woke up, she didn't have a chance to scream, the weight dropped, and she hung there.

Every patient saw her hanging there with her arms as a warning to others to not take on that path.  Since then, she was more open to having many partners in her cell receiving "exercise."

Reina was not one of them; she could manage to avoid them, because she was the eyes of the facility with two bodyguards.  Jun, a tall, Chinese woman that was sent here for paint and Miya, who was much shorter and orange-haired was treated for prescription pill addiction.  They were protectors and spies for Kuniko; the unfortunate part was the Chinese woman was slowly becoming entangled into Reina's attractiveness.

Jun, in short, was an importer of her doom.  The drug was famous in her area of China and a request to import it came so Jun decided to do the honor but on her way, she tried out a few times, and became intoxicated with the smell.  The ship that was carrying the cargo was stopped by International police and she was shipped to Japan thinking she was a Japanese national with her fake passport.  She was charged with possession of the drug and sentenced for a few months but the addiction didn't wear off as she went crazy over the aerosol causing her to go to rehab and arriving halfway out into the real world.

Miya was extremely intelligent before being sent into the darkness.  She had everything going her way except for a stable family, which decided to break up before her high school graduation.  After the split, she went living on her own, but was still feeling the pain from the divorce and went to therapy.  Adding to the mounting pressure, Miya had learned that the parents had forgotten her and the money stream ran dry.  She had maintained a job throughout the incident but paying out of pocket had cost her more than she expected, so they went with a cheaper solution.

The depression medicine worked but not quick enough to soothe the pain and once it built into Atlas holding the earth, she fell into a deep hole popping pills until the point a neighbor found her on the ground foaming from her mouth.  She was taken into the emergency room to get her stomach pumped.  She was a total mess after the surgery and raged throughout the next couple of months with the addiction in her, which led her into the facility.

Reina got to know everyone in the facility but knowing that she had this mission only made it tougher to not portray her true feelings towards everyone.  Despite the two spies, Reina had developed the trust with Kuniko based on the fact that she had lusted over her but could never hold her down long enough for a thorough get together. However, a voice came from beyond cluing in on Reina that began to annoy her.  She was an attention whore that irritated her but she had proof and presented it to her.

"It looks like her," she said in a low voice.

"It is her!"  The voice confirmed as Kuniko knew the true identity.

She didn't know what she should do, listen to the voice that gave her confirmation, and kill her or bring her in with leverage and seduce her to the max that will make her crack her secret.  Kuniko dismissed the voice from her cell and began to think about it through the day and onto the night until she slept.

The next morning, Kuniko still wasn't sure what she should do but confirmed that she had a choice.  She called in Jun and threw a pistol at her.

"Who are we shooting?"  She asked while staring at the pistol.

"Your friend, Reina."  Kuniko's voice dropped at the end as she looked at Jun, who was tightly gripping the gun.

"I see."  She sighed as Kuniko held out her hand.

"Don't do it now, I want you to do whatever you want before you shoot her," she instructed as Jun gave back the gun.

"I can't do it.  I'm sorry."

Kuniko would have lectured her about killing others who don't follow the rules but she had the mutual feeling as the Chinese woman and dismissed her without any more words.  Miya walked into the cell and was thrown the gun with the same instructions except she wanted to be done now.  Miya nodded her head and walked over to Reina's cell to escort her out of the building, Kuniko held her hands together praying that Reina would be safe.

The kitty was well aware that Kuniko would have her killed with Miya marching over to bring her outside into the dark part of the grounds as Miya lined up the gun to her head.

"Is this the final saying from Kuniko?"  She asked Miya.

"She loves you, why can't you see it?"  Miya pleaded with her finger near the trigger.

"I love someone else, she loves me back, but she doesn't want to steal from her," she explained as Miya wanted to pull but hesitated instead.

"I guess this is it."  Miya called one last time to Reina as the finger pushed the trigger and she watched her fall to the ground.

Miya didn't want to turn around, she did her job, and that was it.  She walked inside as the guards took her body out of the area.  Kuniko watched from her window her body being shipped out.  Her frustrations welled out of her eyes as she was carried off.

I never loved a person before who resisted my temptations and to find you are an enemy, I shall not forgive you.

@yellow maybe but it happens one way or another

Day 57

The shot echoed throughout her mind.  Her eyes blinked uncontrollably until the sound of the door knock forced her to come to the door.

"May I come in?"  The woman's request seemed innocent but letting her come in was risky.

"Why?"

"That shot, where did it come from?"  Another question she couldn't answer at the moment as she ran over to Yossie's house.

Ai wasn't really sure what happened and being in the early morning she couldn't sleep, no one really could shut their eyes, and rest in peace.  Despite Risa's concerns, Ai was becoming worried for herself after learning about Reina's stance in the situation.

Could Goto be right?  Or is she part of the act too?

Every person on their side converted into children pondering over the shot as they rushed into Yossie's house where she was fully awaked.  The windy night was no help with their shut eye either as they stared over to the other side with their one light on.  Ai became concerned with the other side.  She wasn't sure if Reina was still there or she was the one who got shot, in any case, she had to be alert.

=========
The lights were the most distracting thing of all at a hospital.  She had been there before for other stuff but feeling drowsy was a new thing for her.  She turned to the side and grinded her teeth before laying on her back again waking up the only visitor in her room.

"How are you feeling?"  The voice seemed familiar but not seeing her face was frustrating the woman.

"How do you think I feel?"  The visitor let out a chuckle to the response.

"Good job in trying to gain reconnaissance," the visitor praised her but the patient shook her head.

"It wasn't good enough.  Kuniko will only find you again and you'll be dead," she mumbled as she tried sitting up but couldn't get her body to follow through.

"Rest, I know you feel that way, Reina but I can only help you because..." Goto halted her explanation as the kitty's eyes were stared at her.

"I cannot pretend anymore.  You have to take her down on your own," Reina admitted as she rubbed her right shoulder.

Goto saw the pained expression and went back to her seat.  Reina turned over managing to overcome the pain to stay on her side as she looked at her eye to eye.  The flame was growing bigger with anger as she felt betrayed but there was one other thing on her mind.  She held her fist into a ball and slammed her fist into the bed.  Goto knew that her frustration with the assignment was being in there but there was something else that caught her by surprise.

Reina signaled for her bag and tossed out the badge and the identification to Goto.  She put them into her purse and stood up.

Goto excused herself from the room and called it a night as Reina closed her eyes thinking about what had happened and if she would have another opportunity to get her back.

=============

The next morning there was news of a riot in the other area and the four decided to stay housed while the fight was developing.  Ai peeked outside the window seeing smoke surround the place and the explosions were soft in the distance but their curiosity started to peak.  Desperately, they sneaked outside the house to find the compound on fire.

“This is bad,” Yossie expressing her surprise of the fire.

“Can we call Goto?”  Ai asked as they turned and the familiar face appeared.

“Reina has gone rogue,” the four wide-eyed women were surprised by the news and quickly went back to their barracks.

They packed up their stuff and headed into Goto’s car to escape the violence.  As they were ready to leave, a pack of cars sped by them into the other area and were ready to infiltrate the building.  However, an alarm went off preventing anyone from leaving the camp.

“Lockdown, we are going to be stuck here for a while.”  Yossie confirmed as the police started to throw tear gas to cloud up the area.

Many of the patients escaped over the fence and headed into the other area but got a surprise when they hit the other fence.  Three of them were shaking on the ground with the next swarm freezing before the fence.  The police were flanking to surround the area and then alarm went off and Goto drove off while the gate was closed behind them.

“Okay, we have to send you guys off, Konno is in the loop about everything so we may send you to another facility.”  Goto informed them while keeping her eyes on the road.

“Where?”  Ai questioned as Goto felt a lump in her throat.

“I’m not sure myself,” her voice got softer as they were rushing to the airport when her telephone rang.

Goto turned on the speakerphone and signaled to them to stay quiet while they were heading to the airport.  The voice on the other side was of despair and the continuous sighs gave away her identity.

“I will get that woman if it is the last thing I do.”  The voice warned her as Ai looked outside the window.

“Tanaka-san, you are on your own now, I have no jurisdiction over you.”

“That’s fine.  I never cared for your leadership.”  She replied.

“How about me in general?”  The slight pause said everything.

Goto hung up as they headed toward the airport where police was ready to escort them to the next plane out of the city.  They were not informed on where they were going but it had to be someplace far from here and hopefully the violence doesn’t follow them.

==============

Reina sat up in her bed watching the white, puffy clouds passing by.  She gazed upon her hands before placing her left hand on top of the pain.  She let out a scream as she removed it away and the nurse came to her bedside with her assistance ready.

“Can you pour me a cup of water?”  Reina asked politely as the nurse poured the clear liquid into the cup.

Reina took a few sips before shooing her away.  She closed her eyes for a bit listening to the silence of the room before the chaotic tremor woke her up.  The incoherent noise from outside was bothering her and she swung her legs out of the bed trying to feel the floor.  Her feet felt the ground as she began to wince with her pain.  She took a few steps forward like a baby learning how to walk and managed to get halfway before realizing her restrictions.

She turned back to her bed and climb on top of it with the noise tingling in her ears.  She was holding the bed trying to gain supersonic hearing from outside her room.  The closer she leaned; the feeling of losing her equilibrium was prominent.  Reina finally got onto her hip and the noise died down.  The group of people walked away with their heads hung over.

Reina rolled onto her back as she pondered over the situation and looked back at the clouds swimming by behind the blue sky.  Still the urge was in her blood; she called a nurse into the room and asked for her curtains to be closed.  She blurted out her curiosity to no response.  She blurted it out one more time with the same result.  The nurse walked out of the room and turned on the television with the news on.

She hated the news, even as a child, she would rather stay in her room than watch news.  It was dry for her palette and most of the time it was about politicians, which never intrigued her at all.  Then, the image of camp popped up with the building on fire.  A toothy grin appeared on the kitty’s face as she thought that she was finally gone but it only reported on death: Kimura Kuniko.

She cursed herself for thinking that she would perish in the ashes but with Kuniko gone, the husband would be ready for the move against anyone in his path.  She knew that he would do it quickly and would aim for the perpetrators but didn’t expect the explosion across the street.  Everyone heard the sharp, loud voice of the boss with the fire below, she knew the trouble he would cause and asked to be moved immediately out.

Luckily, the panic made it easier to escape with the package underneath.  She moved the hospital clothing and tossed it to the side as she escaped the hospital without anyone noticing her disappearance.

@yellow: pretty much XD

Day 58-59

The group was herded onto the plane and sent off to their next location.  It was another blind trip to run away from the chaos of people get through their rehab stint.  Ai held her hands together and mumbled out a few thoughts to herself while the other two chatted with each other.  It was half-filled with passengers assuming they were heading to the same location.

 “Where is Yossie?”  Eri asked.

The three shrugged their shoulders as they got out of their seats and looked around for the camp leader but couldn’t find her within their area.  With first class restricted, they were stuck in the cabin with the few people who were just exhausted from their experience through security.  The three walked back to their seats and set their chairs back into an obtuse angle and closed their eyes.

The violence that surrounded them was happening for a reason or that is what they thought about through their nap.  The question popped up everywhere wondering why it was happening to them.  The answers were swirled in the events previous and to their next location was another day.

The boarded off the plane and in the lobby was a man with sunglasses and three bags surrounded him.  He took off the glasses and gave them a bow while Yossie, looking refreshed, followed them from behind.  They didn’t have time for questions as he dragged the bags to the streets and a van was there to load up their items.

“Gomen ne, I’m Sakata Yoshinori,” he introduced. “You can be formal or call me Yoshi as you pleased.”

“Where are we?”  Risa asked as she looked around the area.

“Sapporo.  Konno-sensei has requested for you to have shelter here.”  He explained with the bags all in the back and the group boarded.

Yoshi started the van and drove off to the streets.  He was non-talkative in general unless you bring him up with his hobby of horse racing.  His avid knowledge of the sport spanned over his lifetime and betting was a close number two on his favorite hobbies.  He kept his concentration on his mission on hand as the group cramped with their bags waited patiently for their next stay.

“Konno was born in Hokkaido, so we might be staying in her area.”  Yossie noted in trying to remember the past conversations with the doctor.

“I would guess so,” Ai unenthusiastically muttered.

“Don’t feel bad, we all are here to help each other.”  Yossie flashed a smile as Yoshi glanced back at them.

“We are going to a farm in the country.  The family will teach you about working on the farm.  You only have a week of this before you are set for release.”

“Really?”  He nodded slightly as they felt lifted about this nightmare being over soon.

They went down an isolate road and stopped at a small farm where a gleeful woman stepped out with a straw hat.  Yoshi grabbed the bags to take inside the large house as the farmer extended her hand to the group.

“I am Abe Natsumi, you can call me Nacchi, and Yoshi is my close friend who has inherited this farm from his family.”  The man bowed to them and let them inside the large house where it had large areas of modern rooms and upstairs was the bedrooms where they would be staying in.

Ai walked into her room with a view of the sun outside her window.  She was only a week away until freedom.  She was confident it was going to be over.

==========
Reina looked outside her window seat and felt relieved that she was out of the hospital.  She was relieved that Goto wouldn’t be on her tail.  She was relieved that the woman was gone.

The case was finally off her platter and she free to chase after the only woman that had still bother her.  The woman was the anti-Reina, she had the key to take her down.  She wondered why she never used it but always wanted to silence her forever before anything else got out.  Her lie wasn’t really a lie but a half-truth: she was leader of a group but not as dynamic as it was told to her.

It was her final duty as leader of this group to silence the only person who could send her into jail.

“Tanaka-san, where are you going?”

“I’ll be right back.”

“Where’s my goods?”

“Ai-chan, be patient.”

“Before that…”  Ai threatened with a stack of 10,000 yen notes.

“Where did you get that?”  Reina asked as her finger pointed toward the bed.

“They are here, hide out.”  She informed Ai as she ran into the bathroom and Reina threw the stack into laundry basket.

“You have the money?”

She looked at her ticket and curled her lips as her next location was confirmed the landing place as she tracked the car Goto was riding in.  A one-way trip to Hokkaido with the hopes of either finding her or her soul returning to her hometown lost forever.  She boarded the plane with a small bag filled with weapons and flew off to her match.

Goto observing her from behind requested a trip while in disguise and kept her distance with knowledge of the kitty’s true intention.  She had to display caution and carried what was needed for a cross-country trip and closed her eyes while standing behind her with a thick coat and sunglasses.

=============
The next morning they were awaken by roosters and dragged out to the barn for training.  Risa was assigned to egg duty, Eri was to milk cows, and Ai had to mix the feed for the chickens.  The trio struggled throughout the day with various problems with the animals but was done without any animal critically harmed.  After their adventure, they were given breakfast.

Their midday assignments were easy with grooming their horses and naturally they adapted to them as they neigh and greeted the new workers.  Eri had the mischievous one when it defecated near her as it was brushing its tail; her scream was the comic relief they needed to take off the pressure.

After lunch, the group watering crops with the can and fertilizing the new ground with manure.  They rock-paper-scissors to see who would water and who had to fertilize, Risa came out the winner leaving the other two with the fragrant manure.  Ai and Eri grabbed their hand shovels and spread the dark matter around the crops while Risa chased them to water it down.  Yoshi assisted with the laying down of manure with his big shovel and looked happy with the results.

Ai finally looked up at the sunset and knew dinner was ready for them and rushed over to the group shower where the three were corralled to wash each other off.  Since the water was lukewarm, they had to rush out before it got cold outside, and walked in with a feast laid out for them.

“Thank you.”  They cheered all at once.

They each took a bowl of rice and bowed their heads to the food provided to them.  Nacchi watched them eat the food in front of them with a motherly observation.  She always thought about children but with her tough past, no one would accept her as a suitable wife.  Yoshi was a close friend to Nacchi and had offered advice when she needed some, mostly for encouragement.  The duo created the house where rehab patients could be safe from the outside world by living on a farm.

The trio was enjoying the food before Ai noticed the omission on the dining table.  She stood up and looked around for her before sitting back down.   Nacchi noticed she was missing and headed upstairs where she was on the phone with someone.  The concern on her face was evident to the leader of the farm.

“Yossie, you should eat before it gets cold.”  Nacchi informed her.

“I will get there, just need to figure out something.”  Yossie grumbled to herself as the motherly figure left.

She didn’t have to expect trouble when they were sent here, but with an angry kitty coming their way, they had to be prepared for everything.  Yossie dialed Konno, who was surprised with the events happening beyond the farm, and briefed her about the woman after Ai.  Konno wasn’t sure what to associate with the message but was quick to send out protection for the farm.

Yossie closed her phone and headed downstairs where the three rested by the couch leaving the two guardians busily cleaning the table.  They quickly dropped everything and let Yossie let off the concerns to them.  They nodded with every word and tried to see if they could do something on their own accord but Yossie insisted to not meddle in the situation.  The two left her to eat alone while she concentrated on the group.

=========
Goto arrived in Hokkaido with her carry-on and headed towards the security booth to inform them about the woman.  They quickly nodded and she headed towards the main station to do the same but fell to the ground.  Two of them chased the suspect as the rest aided her while ambulance arrived.

The cops chased down a man and wrestled him to the ground.  They arrested him and brought him into custody while Goto glanced at the arrested and shook her head.

“That guy hit you.”

“I guess so, but where is that woman?”  She asked as they all looked at each other.

Goto pounded her fist into the ground in frustration as she had to find the location of the kitty.  She headed to the camera room and replayed the tape of their arrival.

Shit, she wasn’t on the plane.

Day 60

Reina had been well aware of Goto following her and boarded onto another plan headed to Tokyo to meet with her gang.  She arrived to foggy weather and the wind was a non-factor as she looked around for a car.  She looked at her watch realizing that the car was late and walked backed in but was stopped by a tall, tanned man with combed hair and the smell of cologne tainted her smell receptors.

“Come with me, missus.”

“Who are you?”  Reina jerked her arm away and he managed to get control enough to shove her into the car.

“Ms. Tanaka, welcome.”

The man looked the same but was much shorter and the smell wasn’t as horrid as the guy who brought her into the car.  He had a crooked smile like someone had busted his jaw and it seemed out of place.  He moved his jaw once before handing Reina a business card.

Kimura Takenori
Sales President/CEO
Kimura Enterprises

“You look too cute to be a yakuza boss, did you let your body do the talking or your gun?”

Reina smirked at him with the deceptive eyes she liked to show before ripping the enemy’s head off but something was telling her he could be off great use.  She pressed her body up to his and rubbed his cheek before taking a seat across of him.

“Of course, I use my gun.  I’m no slut.”

He let out a laugh as he figured she was more seductive than his wife was at her age.  However, she had no weapons on her, which meant she was defenseless to any of his attacks but he had an important matter on his mind.  Kimura slipped out a picture and showed to her as she glanced at it for a bit seeing the beauty of his wife in front of her.

“She died.”

“I know.”

“So, I guess you knew about me before you came here to kidnap me.”  He nodded his head.

“Well, we are not going to do anything to you unless you disagree, that I know won’t happen.”  His awkward smile came out again and Reina shook it off in her memory.

“What’s the deal?”

“I’ll let you run away free if you let your group off my territory.”

“Hmm, my territory is in the industrial area.”  He nodded slowly.

“Yes, we are manufacturing items for smuggling and your second in command has asked to wait as you would come back to Tokyo one day.”

“Well, what is the figure?”

“No money.”  Her eyebrows twitched up and nothing ever goes well if it does that.

“Why?”

“Because if you don’t we have the group surrounded.”  Reina gave him a smirk and took a seat next to him.

“I give in.  You have the area to yourself but I need to tell them myself, is that okay?”  He grinned and pointed toward the glass.

“Let’s celebrate.”

Reina was instructed to get the half bottle of whiskey and poured into the glasses.  He took his glass while she poured hers and began to get a chill down her spine like something was wrong here.  She knew that he liked young tail so the ass staring wasn’t the issue but with her glass she grabbed bottled water hiding from his view .  Reina raised her glass to the agreement and placed the glass on her lips watching him take down the drink.  She opened the bottled water and sipped from there.

“Don’t like alcohol?”

“I prefer water at this time of day.”  Without notice, he took the glass from Reina and chugged it down.

It took a few seconds to realize his mistake and wrapped his hands around his choke as he gasped for air.

“You poisoned me.”

“No, you poisoned yourself.”

She pointed toward the vial next to the whiskey and he quickly became paralyzed before exhausting in the car.  The driver pulled up to the gate and stopped the car.  Reina knew that he was probably at the site and she quickly took the gun from his holster and hid it into her pants.  She waited for him to open the door as she was behind the shade but it was a deputy who opened it up to find their deceased boss on the ground foaming.

“Who did this?”

One shot to the chest and the deputy fell to the ground.  She stepped out of the car and the gang turned against her with the opportunity they were caught between the boss and her gang.  Reina showed her gun and dropped it to the ground as another group arrived with their weapons facing at the Kimura gang.

“Drop your weapons, everyone.”

No one did so and Reina walked up to the first guy and disarmed him with a punch to the groin.  He fell to the ground holding his jewels but the boss went further and grasped it hard in her hands.

“Do what I say or he will suffer the worst of the consequences.”

The rest of the group dropped their weapons and glanced around the perimeter before letting go the package and ran to the group.  Reina picked up her gun and slid it into her pocket.

“Kimura is dead.  I run the group for the time being and I need a person to help me rid of a person.”  Reina saw the hand shot up from the middle of the pack.

“What is the reward?”

A woman walked up with a bandana over her mouth.  Her red, wavy hair caught her eye and waved her finger to move up to the front.

“The reward is 10 million yen.”

“How are you going to guarantee the money?”  The man spoke from behind.

Reina knocked him off his feet with the pistol and handed her a piece of paper towards the woman.  She unfolded the paper and found a ticket to Hokkaido.

“I won’t fail you, boss.”

===================

Ai woke up to the sound of the rooster and headed toward the barn where the light was on.  She rushed inside to find Yossie sitting on the bale of hay with her head hung.

“Reina will be coming here.”

Ai wasn’t surprised about the news, she actually should have felt nervous, but she was calm and placed her hand on Yossie’s shoulder.

“Don’t worry about me, whatever happens, keep Eri and Risa safe.”

“Are you sure?  We can move…”

“No, I want to finish this right now.”

Yossie quickly nodded and left Ai in the barn as the animals were starting to wake up with the sun.  She grabbed the feed for the chicken and was approached by a person with a coat.

“Ai, I’m sorry I can’t protect you now.”

Ai didn’t say a word and continued working as the woman started apologizing but it seemed like waiting for paint to dry.  She finally looked up and dropped the feed bag onto the ground.

“The best thing is to protect everyone else.”

“If it can happen, we will move everyone out soon.”

Ai nodded and went back to her work as she left.  The day went by quietly but the next day Ai was expecting the surprise and went to sleep in the house.

@yellow yeah it was gone long time ago but I still have those mini moments right before the action

Day 61

Ai awoke to the smell of smoke and quickly ran to the window.  The darkness was only visible as she assumed and headed downstairs to find no one was awake yet.  Her body wanted to have a little more sleep but she went to the barn to start up her work for the day.  It seemed quiet for the time being before a car pulled up to the house, Ai grew suspicious of them as they were in the car for a few minutes before getting out with their guns drawn.  They slowly approached the house while Ai headed to the car seeing if there was anything inside indicating they were legitimate officers.

She peeked inside and saw nothing out of the ordinary while the officers were knocking at the door.  Just as Ai was ready to return to the barn, the rooster crowed scaring the officer and accidently letting out a round into the roof.  Yossie was the first to arrive at the door greeting the officers; she welcomed them inside as Ai scurried away to tend the chickens.

The other two arrived fifteen minutes later with sleep in their eyes as they struggled to get their items off the hook.  Ai glanced at them with a smile and took the goods back into the house for preparation.  She headed back outside again now confronting the male officers with Yossie right behind her.

"Takahashi Ai, we are special unit officers sent to protect you," he introduced.  "I'm Honda and this is Shimokawa."

"Hello, why are you here to protect me?  I expected a woman to come here to visit me."  She explained.

"Reina gained some power over these past 48 hours."  Ai quickly nodded.

"Yakuza boss killed?"  The two nod their heads simultaneously.

"I have no place to run now; she will come after me no matter where you guys take me."

"That is true but... if we protect you, at least you can have a buffer from facing her alone," he explained.

"I don't care about that for now, you can stay but it won't change anything."

The three agreed to that statement and they parked their car behind the house and insisted to blend into the environment for just protection.  The males were amateurs at doing farm work but they caught on quickly and adapted to the day's work.  Ai switched to house work where Nacchi had been harvesting what vegetables should be used in the stew for dinner.  Ai scrubbed the dirt off in the sink with Nacchi swaying her eyes back and forth between the sink and cutting board.

"Konno told me your story, you are a strong person."  Nacchi breathed.

"Thanks," she replied.  "No one would expect grudges to pop up from years ago."

"Yeah... I hope nothing does happen it is just a warning but if it does, we will have to move out of the area."  Nacchi announced as she started to peel the potatoes.

The area filled with noise was suddenly silenced by the sound of thunder coming from the east.  The group ran into the nearest shelter and hid out while the rain poured down on the farm.  Ai ran upstairs and saw the rain soak up the ground below.  It was a day off for everyone except for Ai who was planning out the events for her confrontation.

=========
“What’s your name?”  Reina asked the masked woman.

“Mitsui Aika.  You can call me Mittsi, if you please.”

“Okay, Mittsi, do your job and I will deposit the money in the bank account,” Reina promised and Aika disappeared into the crowd.

Aika boarded the plane to Hokkaido for the mission while Reina stayed in Tokyo to get the deposit and check on the former headquarters.  She opened the door and smiled at the place.  Empty, it was gutted by the people under her, and with the bank empty, she had to walk to the bank to take out a loan but gave a call to the cronies.

“Go to Nana’s place, set it on fire.”  She commanded in a calm voice.

She knew in an hour 20-30 bodies will be set ablaze so a trip to the café would make the scene better.  As she was ready to turn, she heard a click, and someone had her at point blank range.  The kitty couldn’t recognize the face but with the finger placed on the trigger.  Her words came out softly when the first shot went off and the second silenced her for good.

Reina held her hands over the bullet wound as she fell into the pool of blood.  She had no chance to find the person who killed her but she was a respectable assassin to kill a yakuza boss.  She threw the gun next to her and placed a hand towel over her face.

Rest in peace.

The woman left and took a few steps before the explosion knocked off her balance.  Reina’s last act was accomplished with her body still warm.  She left without any remorse but to do the right thing after, she felt great.

========
Aika arrived with no knowledge of what happened in Tokyo and took a taxi to the farm based on the knowledge given to her by Reina.  It seemed forever to get there and decided to detour for a meal before carrying out her mission and with the rain slowly pelting the city, she would take the time off to plan accordingly.

However, there was the dark cloud hanging over her head as she felt forced to finish it off before the day was over.  Something in the air didn’t feel right and headed into the inn to check in before heading out to the country.  She slid the pistol into her belt and wore a long black jacket concealing her weapon.

She stepped into another taxi with the rain coming at a rapid rate and drove off to the farm.  Aika dozed off with the sight of gray in her mind and woke up a mile from the entrance and asked him to stop there.  She paid him off and Aika started to walk in the hard rain.  The mud made it difficult but she kept walking until the darkness couldn’t make her go any further and she squatted down to analyze the place and got to the outskirts of the house.

The rain didn’t let up as she was soaked just waiting outside and the plan was slowly falling apart with the mud sinking her into the pit the longer she stayed still.  She rushed to the side of the barn and sat under until she could find the person in the morning.

========
“The lights went out.”  Risa shouted as the group was on the main floor with dinner ready to be eaten.

“Calm down.”  Yossie scolded the bean with everyone trying to find their utensils.

The group was aware of the impending danger for everyone and being in the house would help them hunt down the person after Ai.  They ate what they could find and stayed by a window to search for anybody that would come onto the property.  Eri crawled from her window and headed upstairs leaving Risa and Ai by the window.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, you can sleep next to me, if you need to.”

“I want to stay up with you.”

“Just keep your head down.”  Ai murmured as she saw a shadow walking from the left side of the road.

Ai tracked the shadow to the barn and signaled to Shimokawa that someone was near the house.  Honda cocked his gun and sat by the door as the rain pelted the door.  Ai moved to the other window near the barn and caught sight of the woman.  She grabbed a vase from the table, throwing as far as she could, hitting the barn door.  The shadow was not startled by the noise but Ai knew that the shadow wasn’t aware of the window to the left of her.

“Ai, leave the rest to us.”  Shimokawa whispered.

Ai and Risa lay on the floor closing the eyes for the night.  Ai was happy with the people around her but the shadow was starting to linger in her mind.  She saw her partner sleep and got out of her position as the lightning struck across the sky giving her a better view of the shadow and it let out a surprise.

Reina… that’s not here.

“Ai, what’s wrong?”  Honda asked.

“That’s not Reina, she sent an assassin.”  She croaked as Yossie confirmed the identity.

“We shall nullify her.”  Honda and Shimokawa walked out the back door as quietly as they could.

Ai lowered her head to the ground and within seconds shots were fired.  Ai heard a few screams but she was afraid to lift her head up to see anything.  She closed her eyes and pretended they got her but the shots were becoming loud around the house.  Then, there was a silence; it was the type indicating it was over.

“Shit, she ran away.”  Someone yelled.

Two shots later it was silent again and then another two shots.  Everyone began to feel curious as someone knocked the backdoor down.  Ai could see the shadow coming closer with her gun raised observing the area and with one strike, Ai managed to tackle her to the ground knocking the gun out of her hand.  She let out a barrage down on her upper body and when she felt the fight was over, she kicked the gun outside and wrapped twine around her wrists onto the door.

“Shimokawa and Honda…”

Everybody knew the result and they were trapped by an impressive shooter but without the gun she was vulnerable to the attacks and they waited for the morning sun to find the face of the killer.

Day 62

“Wake up.”

“… Where am I?”

“You are in a house, Reina sent you here, right?”  Ai commanded.

“I am on my own,” she replied as Yossie stepped forward.

“Reina is dead.”  Aika’s eyes ballooned looking at the group in front of her.

Aika was looking at her victim straight in her eyes and began to shed tears.  She couldn’t keep herself from letting out her frustration on them but they were not going to let her off easily and they let her take a seat while they waited for the officials.  Aika was aware that escaping would be her only choice to freedom but the mud would hinder her progress.  It was slowly coming to an end. She was going to be sent for killing authority figures.

“Are you sure?”  Aika asked as she heard the sirens.

“I have my sources.”  Yossie said bluntly with the officers coming into the house.

The two men took the woman off into their cruisers and only spoke to Nacchi about the situation.  From the back door, another person entered the house surprising the group.

“Konno-sensei, nice to see you here.”  Yossie greeted her.

“I’m here to grant these three their release from rehab.”  Ai collapsed to her knees thanking her for the good news.

Konno delivered three tickets to them and left them as Yossie shook their hands congratulating them for achieving the goal.  By the afternoon, they were on a plane to Tokyo.  Eri quickly went to sleep in her seat while the other two exchanged looks while waiting for liftoff.

“You don’t look excited.”  Risa commented breaking Ai from her glare.

“Reina… she sent me into this hell hole and now she is gone, I will miss this.”

“Honto?”  Ai nodded.  “I need to be alone for a while.”

Ai closed her eyes and placed her earphones on leaving the bean alone as she fixed her eyes on Ai for the whole flight.  She never thought about how weird she was just concentrating on Ai but she needed to associate back into reality while Risa could lay low for the near future.

Midflight, Ai walked to the bathroom and noticed a suspicious man by the bathroom.  He smiled as he went into the bathroom, a few seconds later, she heard a shot, and saw the man fall forward in front of her.  The stewardess noticed the body and dragged him away as Ai stepped inside.  The eerie feeling in her body quickly release with the exit of waste and then she opened the door to find the stewardess pointing the finger at her.

“What did I do?”

“The man, you knew the man was going in front of you.”  She complained.

“It was coincidence that he came in before me.”  Ai explained as someone came between them.

“No one panic, this guy is yakuza, when we land we shall look over everything.”  She explained as Ai returned to her seat.

The plane landed and the trio was escorted to another room away from the rest of the passengers.  They weren’t really sure what was happening but the eerie feelings were equal among the three.  They walked into the room to see Goto on the other side with a gun in front of her.

“Hello.”

“Ai-chan, I’m sorry that Reina passed on before you met her in Hokkaido.”  Goto turned her head away from the trio.

“Yossie told me what happened.”  Goto showed her smirk.

Well… if you don’t mind.”  She pointed the gun at them.

Risa and Eri scooted back their chairs as Ai was looking down the barrel and changed her direction to Goto.  She withdrew the weapon and placed it back on the table as they were feeling the pressure in the room.  Goto returned a smile back at Ai-chan as she threw the weapon at her.

“I won’t do it.”

“Well turn around.”  Goto commanded as the three hesitated but the gun forced them to turn and waited for the result.

One pop was heard and Ai headed out of the room without looking back as the two followed her out and headed to the exit.  The police entered into the room quickly while passing by the trio.  Ai slipped into the first taxi and Risa and Eri went into the other taxi.  Ai heard a phone ring and searched through her bag to find a new cell phone.

“Hello.”

“This is Ogawa.  Meet me at the bank across of the hotel.”

Ai was dropped off a block before the hotel where the doctor was holding a briefcase in her hand.  She walked up to the doctor and was given the suitcase.  Ogawa popped it open to show the stacks of yen in the container.

“This is for the lawsuit on your behalf, congratulations.”  She grinned as Ai closed it and walked away without saying anything else.

She was finally rid of the people.  Ai checked into the hotel and saw the two in the lobby as they all walked into the room.  Ai placed the suitcase down and opened to find the money to split between the three.

“I guess it is goodbye.”  Eri said in a low voice.

“No… actually you can stay with us but we have to hide out.”  Ai explained as a set of tickets was on the bottom.

“Hawaii?”

“I guess so, tomorrow morning flight.”

The trio drank to their heart’s content and they all left before any other official could stop them from escaping.
