Otsuka Aki (大塚亜季) was a Team B candidate. She auditioned, but never actually made it into AKB48.

Yeah, I remember way back when, shortly after Team B was formed, some fans would get angry at the very mention of her name. She never even made it past the auditions for Team B then went on to do all this lovely work you see above yelling out "HEY GAIZ I NEARLY GOT INTO AKB48 AND STUFF! DID I MENTION I NEARLY GOT INTO THE IMMENSELY POPULAR AKB48?!"

She's a pretty fucking hot chick, though.  :jerk:
